  1. The water on the White River was up today and fishing was a bit tough early on. After a few adjustments things worked out very well. Caught 21 rainbows and an average sized brown on artificial lures close to cover. Also saw a mink on the river bank and rescued two men who were stranded after sinking their boat. Be careful out there.
  2. This real time chart will show you the flow levels, water tempt, etc., at Calico Rock: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?07060500
  3. 4/5/2010 - Fishing was good today. Lost count of the number of fish caught on spinners in the White River. 4/4/2010 - The water on the White River was lower, but discolored. Fishing was a little tough early on, but it really picked up. There was a hatch of at least three different types of caddis. A tan size 12 was the most abundant. There were a few takers on the fly. The rest came on spinning gear. The fish were aggressive. As many were caught on the retrieve as on the drift. A total of 22 fish were caught within 5 hours. 4/3/2010 - Saw two roadrunners, an armadillo, a bald eagle and several deer on the way to the boat launch this morning. Just another day in the Natural State. The water on the White was high but manageable. Caught 20 rainbows on natural imitations in just over four hours.
