I'm planning a camping trip this weekend on the Buffalo and will probably be doing some smallmouth fishing. I was hoping to keep the trip expenses on the cheap and not rent a canoe this go around. Probably better to wait for the wet season anyhow. I'm wondering how well can one fare without a canoe this time of year and if all the decent water is out of hiking/wading distance from the major take out points. I'd rather not waste my time trying out heavily fished water. Any suggestions on some places to start?
I don't care if it's hot; I've got the fever! Although, it might just be the heat getting to me .
