Taking up fly fishing may seem like a harmless endeavor. However, the simple fact is, it will take over your life. One thing leads to another, and before long it's tying flies. The list is never ending. So, enjoy what little time you may have now, spend some time with family, because picking up the flyrod will take you away, far far away. You be the judge. When I am out and about, I carry with me some cordless clippers. I have been known to clip off a few hairs here and there, from a raccoon or a opossum. Even occasionally get Hawk feathers. A Hawktail Nymph or a Raccoon Hair Nymph work quite nicely. Now for the legal ramifications. Since Hawks are a protected species, am I committing a crime? I had no part in the killing of said bird. Any ideas. So, in conclusion, if you are traveling about, and see some weirdo giving a raccoon a haircut, just honk and wave. It's just me collecting fly tying materials. And don't tell me you haven't done it!

I went to Capps "blind" a few weeks ago. Got skunked but did see the potential. Seemed to be plenty of parking at the lower bridge and up near the park. I am sure someone else can help you more, but when I go back, I will go to the lower bridge and work my way upstream. Kind of tough walking but some good looking water.
