  1. And if the water comes up like some years past you will be able to fish from the front door!!
  2. Hey Jerry, better batten down the hatches. I think your going to get "white" this weekend!! Let me know if you need me to bring the tractor over and un-cover you guys!!
  3. Yes it is!! You should see how he clears out a hole Johnsfolly!! He has some very unique ways of getting people away from him, there's the buggy whip technique, the "cast across your line" method, hog your way right next to you, "wow, look at that big snake" technique, and his take on the cartoon character "annoying orange"!! . Oh yea and the ultimate...........Just stay up wind hence the member "upstream".
  4. Don't say that too loud Upstream (photo op) or the Attorney General will be there too. He never missed one in Cass County when he was Prosecutor!!
  5. Not really. Depends on what you are doing. If your really getting technical fishing with small dry flies it may. For running glo balls or mini-jigs under an indicator No. Some of the higher end tippet might be a little more smaller and subtle (limp) but for trout park applications No. I frequently buy 2 and 4# Stren fluro in the refil spools at WalMart, then wind them onto my tippet dispensers. Much cheaper. NoLuck was using Seagar and swore by it. He also catches fish 2-1 to me, maybe that's 10-1 anyway it's just preference. The last tippet I bought was from Feather Craft in St. Louis. Seemed to be more on the spools than other companies at the same price.
  6. Not me, maybe someone else who thinks they are someone but not the Guv. He's my Commander in Chief!!
  7. There goes the neighborhood! Upstream will make a new friend and try to hog in!!! Along with another "un-named" poster...............
  8. Wonder if JR would be opposed to me starting a Valet service. Cut him in on the action?? That's the only reason I would go again!!
  9. Welcome back Jerry. Now it's going to start being winter, thanks for the trigger!! And your going to seriously fish after catching that torpedo in Mexico?? That was cool, but was it on a fly rod? Have fun buddy, and "you know where to fish"!!
  10. Peace out boys I'm done!
  11. How about pics of the 2 fly's your talking about?? Thanks for the story, always good to read these rather than the news!!
  12. I need to get in on some of that for sure oneshot!!
  13. Have fun Jerry, you have earned it!! Have been wanting to get away but the DW and I picked up another pooch and she is a handful (pooch). Just like having another baby around the house. Hopefully she will make a good camping dog. So far so good very intelligent unit. Not a Britt but still a companion.
  14. You are so right. After tying the "FC Crackleback" for many years I decided to go back to the original Ed Story version. I have found over the years that the trout seem to like the older "original" as apposed to the Hybrid versions. I have found myself going back to the original more and more. Not to say that I don't try one of the MANY hybrids that I have tied.
  15. Daryk is a Montauk special the in-line spinner with a small woolie bugger on it? If so that's the one I like. Get several spinners, gold, silver, hammered or not hand full of small woolies with the red "butt" and go for it. You can switch them out with the different areas. That's all I used as a kid! BTW y'all Merry Christmas!!
  16. Yea, NoLuck will have a few BigFoot story's from his stay in Arkansas. He is usually good for a few from his trips.
  17. Good luck on that one. I picked up a midget wookie this past weekend down by Ft. Smith.
  18. They have replaced 2 of mine even after I told them the Pop up front door at one. As a matter of fact they gave me a better one because they discontinued one of them. FWIW
  19. Pardon my ignorance wrench but what is the white extensions? Having trouble figuring that one out. Actually looks like a Griffiths on a 2x long hook.
  20. I haven't seen much activity on the trout cam. This weekend would be a killer time to go and I would bet you will not be lonely! If I didn't have something going on I would consider hooking up and heading down. What do you think NoLuck I think it would be a great weekend for a camper check!
  21. Wow Wayne you are dating yourself. Your right Wayne. Now Belton is the largest City in Cass with Raymore running a close second. You really can't differentiate the difference going south out of KCMO through Hickman Mills, Grandview to Belton/Raymore. It's all grown together. Grandview is land locked, surrounded by KCMO and Belton. The only thing going on for them is IHOP (International House of Prayer). They are buying everything up but no tax base going back. Next town is Peculiar and they have annexed way north as well. I guess they want some of the action. When they did the 71 hiway thing through KCMO it allowed the ATA to bus people from down town out to Belton. They put in bus stops as well. That lasted awhile but disappeared (thank god). I remember as well the JOCO expansion. I remember in 1978 when Olathe south limits was 103rd street, and the east was MurLen maybe, Black Bob was gravel.
  22. Dang, sorry to hear that. Have a friend that left KCMO PD to go to Springfield PD. He said it's night and day difference, not disagreeing with you. What is going wrong with people? I've got it, put a medium security penitentiary in where Circle J is!!. More jobs for locals, allow us to put more dirt bags in jail where they need to be to adjust the attitudes!! There's one down by Licking and they are doing a heck of a business. Actually Ness I think your area was one of the leaders in the SRO program. If I'm not mistaken all the JOCO schools have their own "Public Safety" program. They use to have City Police and changed several years ago. Have been to numerous training programs with those guys. They all are certified through NASRO (National Association of School Resource Officers). The Active Shooter program is a requirement for all schools in Missouri. My partner just finished doing all our schools. It was a hands on program, like you said it was "intense". Rumor has it some teachers actually cried. Years ago we attempted to introduce a similar program and the district thought we were over the top. Too intense for teachers as they would never be involved in something like that. I attempted to pull the BS card but didn't work. It took them at least 5 years and numerous other school involved shooting to come around. Notice the attempt to "un-hijack" this thread?
