  1. I have a outcast pac 9000 pontoon boat in perfect condition, very little use which is why I am selling it. It is awesome on all kinds of small rivers, ponds small lakes etc. You can mount a trolling motor on it. Lots of flotation. Easy to row, very stable, and will float in very very shallow water. You can even stand up and fish. It is green and sells new for $1850. Asking $800. thanks scott The PAC 9000 is top of the line, fun to fish out of and handles a wide variety of river and still water conditions. The quad tube hull design provides shallow draft for drifting over gravel bars and a low profile for moving through the wind. The PAC 9000 features a strapless frame design for quick and easy set up. The PAC 9000 is for you if: - You are an all-round angler who fishes still and moving water - You need a pontoon boat that is ideal for windy conditions - You fish shallow rivers - You love the quad tube design BOAT SPECS Inflated Size: 60" x 9' Tube Diameter: 10" Dual Fabric: 1100 PVC Material Weight: 24 oz/sq.yd. 3. So what are the river patrol busting people for? Scott
  4. I just checked the gauges for the eleven point. And am I reading them right? The bardley gauge is almost 27k cfs, which is more than double the 1966 record!!! Which was 11600cfs. Yo. That is grand canyon type water. I must be mistaken. Brian, how high is that river!! Scott
  5. Mark. This sounds like a new support group for you. We could call it BCA for bait chucker anonymous. "hello my name is mark and I'm a bait chuker". Hope you dont take offense. Just kidding with you. Remember it is never too late to take up flyfishing. It is easy and you might just get into it. Scott
  6. For the Midwestern woodies. I am going to go represent the drift boaters. I am sure I will be the only one but it would be awesome to see someone else show up. I know there is a few woodies in the Midwest http://westcoastwoodenboats.ning.com/events/spring-fling-on-table-rock Scott
  7. Hey guys thanks for the info. I did the last few days on the white and it is a great river. I did two floats with no generation at all and did really well on the typical bugs. One day was on low water till about 2pm and the water hit me and that was great as well. I would say that the drift boat on the white is almost perfect. I did see one other drifter down there and knew of two more on the river, so it is catching on. The shuttles are very reasonable and very reliable. Great job from the guys at mountain river fly shop, they are as good as it gets. I have floated every major river in Colorado and wyoming and Montana and the white is there with some of the great tailwaters of the west. If I were to pick a perfect boat for those souther Ozark waters it would be a skiff like Montana boatbuilders makes, http://www.montanaboatbuilders.com/kitsplans_skiff.htm, or the new skiffs from http://www.premierflyfishing.net/x-series-skiff.php/x-series-skiff.php, but I prefer wood of course. If you had a few guys meet up you could do your own shuttles and I think it is the best way to fish that river. You can go anywhere you want on low flows and wade all the good runs. And if the water kicks up you can just keep on fishing an go anywhere you want. Hope to see some guys on the water. Thanks and tight lines Scott
  8. Hello I would like to come down to the white and do a little fishing. However I only have a drift boat and wanted your advise. Is there a good day float? I saw a possible drift from wildcat to cotter but I don't know anything about it other than what I can get over the Internet. Is a float possible for the norfork of the white? And just as important, maybe more important, is there a shuttle service available in the area that service the rivers? Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Scott
  9. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advise. let me know if there are some other streams that would be good for the drifter and trout. And the offer to fish with you and row for you still stands. Scott
  10. Hey thanks for the advise. Is the Current smaller than the Niangua? I haven't had the drift boat down the Niangua but I have had my 16' cataraft down there several times, and they take up about the same amount of water. I just live in the wrong state. scott
  11. Hey current experts. I saw the post from the guy doing the 5 day float in may and it peaked my interest in the current. My problem is I have a drift boat and wanted to know if you all knew a good trout section that the drifter would be good on. I have had it on the north fork and the eleven point but never the current. I have heard good things about the current but I have never been on it. The Baptist to Cedar grove sounded good but is there a portage around a low water bridge before the takeout? I am thinking of doing it by my self and I can't, and don't want to, drag the boat by my self. I am flyfishing and catch and release, so the other offer is if someone wants to meet up and float I would be up for that as well. Thanks Scott
  12. Bull Shoals in Sept sounds great, let me know and count me in. thanks scott
  13. Hello, Just found the website and the forum. I am a lifelong flyfisher, tier, etc. I fish bamboo most of the time. I have built my second drift boat (http://gallery.me.com/scotthepler#100220) and usually go out west a couple of times a year to fish, sometimes more. I am looking to fish the ozarks more now that my boys are old enough to go, and I need to get the boat wet more often. I have seen a couple of other wooden boats on this site and other sites, that live in the midwest. We need to get them together and do a wooden boat float. Look forward to meeting some of you on a stream sometime.
  14. Thanks for the info. I kinda new about the white river system and I should have been more specific. I was looking for more of the other rivers like eleven point. or north fork of the white, etc, but I don't even know if a drift boat would go down them. I have a couple of young boys that love to fish and a drift boat that I built and beside going out west it would be great to do some trips more often in Missouri. The smallmouth rivers would be great but I just don't know which ones I could take the boat down. Thanks again scott
  15. Hello, I was wondering if there were any good trout streams other than Tanneycomo that would be big enough for a drift boat. Thanks scott
