  1. Looking for a good used two person tube to pull our grown kids around the lake. The closer you are to Holiday Island the better.
  2. Wish Holiday Island Marina was outfitted with yellow bug lights. Our buddy slip on Big Indian has one yellow compact florescent light above his boat & he has about 5 bugs swirling around it at night. The other lights are regular white & the bugs swarm by the hundreds leaving dead bugs and crap covering boats. Hate to cover my boat every night, but will have to..   :(

  3. Will find out today or tomorrow if our new boat physically fits in my leased slip at Holiday Island ! IF not, I need to find someone to trade slips with me. There are currently no new slips available. AND mine already has my lift in it.

Did not fit. New boat too wide. Had to give it full power in reverse to get unstuck. Glad there wasn't anyone around.. LOL.  Trying to trade slips now. I have a possibility.. Naturally, I will have to pay to have my lift moved AGAIN !

  4. Thanks !!
  5. Looking for info on Eagle Rock Marina (hwy 86 bridge). Did not find much on the internet.. Is this marina called Eagle Rock Marina ? Do they have an equivalent to "Coyotes in Kimberling". I am not positive, but I think it would be within 15 minutes boating from Holiday Island Marina. Take me forever to get to Coyotes from Holiday Island...
  6. Ken, Nice fish (good pics thanks ).. Hey you mentioned the OLD Bridge., You talking about the old railroad bridge near the little Golden Gate Bridge ? New around Holiday Island...Trying to get my bearings... Thanks
  7. Im not a golfer either... But the good side is it keeps most of the residents OFF the water, after vacation season ( when the water is too hot anyway) Table Rock is pretty boat free ( at least where we use to be @ Big Indian near Baxter Marina). Some days it seemed like you have the lake to your self.
  8. Near finalizing a deal on a 12 yr old used boat. Just a general question. The boat runs ok on test drive, but I think it can run better. I am questioning if the CORRECT prop is on the boat. How would I know what prop SHOULD be on boat & motor combonation ? When the boat was paired with the motor when built- someone decided what prop should be used. If the prior owner changed props (for any variety of reasons), it may or may not be correct. I found this information below that may answer my question if I think about it long enough. Replacement Considerations If your current prop’s performance is acceptable (WOT is within manufacturer’s guidelines) -- Choose a replacement prop that is very similar to the diameter and pitch of your current boat prop. You might consider upgrading to a different material such as stainless steel or trying a 4-blade prop instead of a 3 blade. If your current prop is unsatisfactory — What if your engine operates at the wrong rpm at WOT? Pitch and rpm have an inverse relationship. Increasing pitch reduces rpm and reducing pitch increases rpm. A 1" change in pitch will usually result in a 200 RPM change in engine speed. Therefore, if your engine operates below the optimum proper rpm, you should consider a boat propeller with less pitch. If your engine over-revs, consider increasing the pitch. Example: Your sterndrive tach limit (red line or rpm limit) is 4800. Your motor at WOT with full trim only turns 4300 rpm. Buy a prop with 2 less pitch to bring it up within 100 rpm ofyour tach limit. Your acceleration will improve and your top end will stay the same or improve because your engine puts out more power closer to its rev limit. You might also consider changing the propeller size to affect a specific performance attribute. A lower-pitch power prop makes it easier to pop skiers out of the water. Tournament bass boats may need more top end speed and should use a boat prop with a higher pitch. Houseboats and cruisers care more about efficiency at displacement speeds, therefore they require a lower pitch to achieve low-end power and the largest diameter their lower unit can handle. Thanks, Bill
  9. Nice pictures.. That's my other fun time... Waiting for fall colors- I have lots of places I need to revisit !
  10. Hope for a good stickbait season ?
  11. The "Island Bar and Grill" shut down yesterday Will check out the other places you shared with me.. Thanks.
  12. Bill update... Been here on Holiday Island Drive about a 6 weeks. Absolutely love it here, (except for the ticks & chiggers which are eating me alive). I need to combine my driving trips better. Great view of Little Golden Gate & castle. Fishing is slow at best around Holiday Island (granted in not very good at it anyway). Fireworks from the water were awesome as are the other mariners I have encountered both on & off the water. Marina is really looking up since I started leasing my slip. (we had our lift relocated from Big Indian creek arm to Holiday Island). Living on a hill will suck this winter- I will have to watch the weather closely or just won't go anywhere...Will need ice cleats on my shoes to check mailbox in winter. Big downfall- there are NO mixed drinks available at local bars/restaurants..
  13. Looking for Holiday Island levels. It is pretty flooded right now, Can anyone assist where I can find the current level ? Thanks. Bill
  14. Update: We bought on Holiday Island Drive. Leased a slip, got my lift moved for 400 bucks !!! ($500 with a new motor).. Boat is up on lift now. I have to work 11 more shifts. Sold the lake home, and Nebraska house, juggling odds & ends for most of May with inspections & closings. Looking forward to getting settled in the end of May. There goes the neighborhood !
  15. Lakehome has been sold !! The new marina operator @ Holiday Island will be relocating my lift to my new slip (for 700 bucks).. Everything is coming together "as soon as we decide which Holiday Is. home to make an offer on"....I like the homes on the bluffs (Table Rock Dr), but concerned about the sun & the possible smell from the waste plant to the north. Getting excited for our new retirement life !
  16. Thank you !!!
  17. Sorry if I didn't locate it, but is there an overall schedule or calendar that shows ALL the Bass tournament dates on Table Rock Lake in 2015 ? Thanks. Bill
  18. I contacted a service in Kimberling City that will move my lift for 600 bucks. (IF the slip is the same size 10x20, then it will fit)... I have already changed our MLS to say slip available, lift will be removed. Besides, chances are the lift may not work with their specific watercraft..
  19. Oh no... No abruptness taken. I always forget the archives on forums. Hard to insult me, Ive been married twice.. LOL !
  20. Thanks again for the good info.. Contractors were one of the horror stories I hear about when we bought on Table Rock. Do you lease at the H.I. Marina ? They must be closed for the season, cant get an answer by phone & they do not provide an email. Hate to give up my private slip with lift. If I can get a 10x20 WITH LIFT for $ 900 a year I will be fine with that. Don't want to constantly grill you with Q & A, but one more...Is the traffic on Holiday Island Drive itself bad ? There are a couple we are interested in ON Holiday Island Dr., and another intersecting Stateline . I'd tell you all about Omaha, but I hear it is a just mirror image of Tulsa...
  21. Heavy consideration on us relocating to Holiday Island (off the island) for retirement in the next several months. Internet paints a pretty nice picture.. But how's it really ? Can it be as nice as we read ? Q: How is traffic during peak vacation season ? As bad as Kimberling City or Shell Knob ? In general, do you like living there ? Thanks for your inputs, Bill
  22. Basically, Is the fishing about the same as it is on Big Indian/Baxter area ? LG Mouth , Spots, some smallmouth ? I hear there are more Walleye & Trout around Holiday Island. I have no idea if the water is 4 feet or 40 feet deep there. Table Rock Lake is pretty famous.. Ya dont hear much about "Holiday Island"- even thought it is somewhat "Table Rock Lake-White River". Guess looking for real experience basic fishing "opportunities" . Personally I like Northern Pike (no chance of catching one of those on Table Rock), but do like catching LG mouth.
  23. Looking for correct folder. Most of my fising has been on Big Indian and around Baxter. Looks like I will have the opportunity to fish the White River around Holiday Island. If I were looking for info on fishing that stretch of water- where should I look ? Thanks for the info. Bill
