  1. What is a "vegetation permit" ? You are on Big Indian ? How far is your take-line & is that pretty uniform for all the "lake front" homes? I'd call the Corp of Engineers for clarification if we land a home there- but I'd rather fly inder the Corps radar (if ya know what I mean)..."Notice how I didnt ask about snakes " Thanks for your time.. Bill
  2. Personally, I agree with Sam.. When it really comes down to it- we all want to be safe & heaven forbid someone need an ambulance they will be able to find you ! Id rather loose all my stuff to a theif, than loose my wife cause I could not get an ambulance to her..
  3. "Skeeter".. Yes, I discovered what you said about the private docks. Trying to find a place WITH one is like finding gold... Would be nice though... you mention the trees UNDER 3".. Just curious, whats the fine ? I suppose both Little & Big Indian Creeks will be full of Jet Skis when the camp grounds open.. arrrgh.. No escape.... Thanks for the heads up..Bill
  4. motoman ::: OMG you have got to be kidding !!! Those baits look great. BETTER than the Norman & Strike Kings !!! Looks like you may have an off season moneymaker if you chose to !! NICE WORK !
  5. Thank you for the reply, Big Indian Creek area (sw of Baxter)
  6. Looking for someone in the know.. Possibly a resident of the Indian Creek area... Anyone know how far the Corp of Engineers "TAKE LINE" is ? Thanks.. Billfo
  7. It never occured to me someone may steal myboat right off the lift.. Guess I was too concerned with finding snakes inside.. always something....
  8. Yes, below (south) of Baxter, Big Indian is the one that goes southwest, little indian goes southeast. Doing some work on a place on Big Indian. Yard has been neglected. A couple of years worth of fallen branches, 2 years of fallen leaves and a few rock piles. I will be clearing all that stuff. Sounds like perfect snake habitat ! I hope I wont be in the hospital very long- ive got things to do ! Thank you all for the information.. Guess some protective clothing is in order.. I will chcck in to "hose-end" sprays maybe I can deter them from bedding down on the property.
  9. Thank you very much for the informative reply. That lock... That will lock the lift in the UP position EVEN IF there is a loss of pressure ? IF our plans materialize, I will keep my boat in the slip for 4 weeks at a time- them fish with it 1-2 weeks. ( nice schedule huh !) Thats why all the questions.. NO experince with boat lifts. I am concerned about the lift loosing presure & lowering the boat back into the water while I am in Nebraska !
  10. Yes this help alot- thank you !! I have never DS, but sounds petty common on Table Rock. I better learn how in a hurry. You mention warmer water temp.. In cooler water, are the fish more shallow ( guess that would be 15-20 feet for Table Rock right)? Are they EVER up in the 5' areas with flooded stumps like commonly found in Nebraska ? Thanks for sharing.. Bill
  11. When fishing "Main & Secondary points" on Table Rock, what depths are we talken about ? Does that mean fish the points where the shallow breaks off to deep water? Thanks... ( Yes I am new to Table Rock AND clear water)
  12. Are Water Moccasins & Copperhead snakes common in the Lampe/Big Indian Creek area ? Thanks..
  13. "go up and down with the wakes" I didnt think of that. Makes sense. Thanks
  14. Just thought I would throw this idea out . Navionic has a "trade in rebate" going on that I think is a good deal.. If you have a chip you dont need anymore you maybe able to trade it in & get up to $100 rebate on a new chip.. Just google "Navionix rebate". Good luck..
  15. Do boat slips with the pneumatic lifts have a "locking mechanism" that will mechanically lock the boat lift in the UP position ?
  16. Sorry I didnt explain that very well, but "steveearle" answered my question. What I meant by 2 depth rings is ..on the west end of the lake, the details are limited to only 10' and 20' depth contours.. No structure, no flooded timber, nothing..
  17. Well that certainly rang a bell ! Thank you for jarring my memory. I remember seeing that someplace.. Its like Navionix loaded the software onto the chip "in blocks"... That would certainly explain the "cutoff" of detail !!! I will conform this at the end of the month !!! Thanks again !.. 7/9/10 UPDATE::::: You were exactly correct. That "block" of information for the west end of Table Rock was included on the ARKANSAS maps.. All is fine in my world again. Thank you !!
  18. I plan on doing quite a bit of fishing in the Big Indian Creek area (south of Baxter). I have the 2010 SOUTH region of the Navionix Hot Spots SD that included TABLE ROCK LAKE.. Well kind of.. The main lake is covered pretty good- but the western part of the lake "like Big Indian Creek" does NOT have any detail other than 2 depth rings. No structure- no tips- nothing ! Now I am faced with getting the PREMIUM chip & hope that it is better detail than the "standard" chip I already have. At least I can get the $75 rebate if I trade-in my "standard" chip. Anyone have any experience in the Big Indian Creek area ? Or know if the 2010 Navionix "PREMIUM" shows more detain in the western coves & in Big Indian Creek ? Thanks, Billfo
  19. Hello, Glad to be here. Billfo (Bill From Omaha). Guys fishing Table Rock may see us in a 2000 Green/Tan Lund Adventure with white Bimini looking aimlessly for fish. Not use to clear water.. I have only caught 2 TWO Bass in Table Rock in my entire life- so dont worry about sharing fishing spots with me.. LOL !
