  1. Thanks Bill. I will check that out.
  2. My motor is a 2000 Johnson 60hp model J60PLSID. It starts fine, idles fine, WOT fine, but when you shift it out of neutral and operate at the lowest speed possible it idles rough, shakes and surges sometimes. Shift it back into neutral and it idles back up fine. I have put the Star Tron additive in the fuel ever since I bought it last year. I've never replaced anything except the spark plugs. Any ideas on what might be the problem? Thanks.
  3. I have 4 brand new in package Walker Deeper Divers for sale. They are 107mm size. These are the trolling divers which get your bait down deep, kind of like Dipsy Divers but better in my opinion. 2 are Green Dolphin and 2 are Blue Dolphin (color titles) I have used one of each, but only once, so they are still like new and are still in packages. There is nothing wrong with them, I have decided they are just a bigger size than I want. I can send you a picture if you would like to PM me, but I can't post pictures because for some reason this site infects my pc with a virus. I have to do everything on this site with my iPhone. Lilley has tried to help, but we just haven't had any luck. I paid $11.99 each for these, but will sell all four for $20.00 plus shipping if needed. I have a Paypal account if anyone would like to buy that way. Thanks.
  4. Lilley, as I'm sure you seen in my last post to BleepingComputer, I've done all that I know to do. Looks like we may not get any more response from them. I guess I'll just have to stick with the iPhone. Also want to say thank you for checking into this and trying to get it worked out.
  5. I think this site was mentioned before, but you can google "Windows XP Repair virus bleeping computer" and you can find an uninstall guide link for this on bleepingcomputer.com. Just figured admin might want to check this out, because there are screen shots of the virus on there too. In my case it hasn't helped to just have the virus uninstalled from my pc, because every time I come back to this site I am infected again.
  6. Lilley, not sure what os means, but here is some of the other info. Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3 Dell Optiplex 760 Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80GHz 1.59 GHz, 1.93 GB of RAM Internet Explorer 7 Hope this helps. It is the info from my System Properties-General tab. Don't know how to get a screen grab or if I even could. When the virus pops on screen it is in a box with a title at the top that says Windows XP Repair. Inside the box it says something about analyzing computer for virus' and starts going thru a checklist of some sort and showing each one completed as it works. Thanks.
  7. Yeah, I don't have a clue either! That is the reason I just leave it all up to our IT dept. I work for a rather large organization and I have been told they keep up to date very well. A person even has to have Administrator privileges to perform any kind of updates, installments, etc. on our computers. Our computers are updated nightly as a whole. After having this problem, there is no way I would even take the chance on my home pc. Thanks.
  8. Also, I have been a member since last year and never had a problem until recently.
  9. Yes, as far as I know. My place of employment keeps everything up to date, although I couldn't tell you what it is, because they take care of all that. I will admit I am not too computer savvy, so I don't understand why this only happens when I log onto this site?
  10. Ness, I have to conclude that it is coming from this site, because it only happens when I go to this site. As I said before I waited a few weeks to come back to here on my pc, during which time I was on the Internet a lot and when I was brave enough to try it again it happened as soon as the site began downloading. I have not had this problem on any other site. I am not griping or anything, just letting admin know, because this "is" where I am getting it, no question about it. That is the reason I am afraid to try it on my home pc Eric. Thanks.
  11. Or were you just being facetious jdmidwest? I couldn't see your smiley very well on my iPhone until I zoomed in! Sorry, like I said, can't use my pc, so I'm having to use the phone. Thanks.
  12. I was and am using Internet Explorer jdmidwest. I am sure this is not a microsoft virus, rather one going under the name, because when it pops up it does not look legitimate.
  13. "Windows XP Repair" was the virus. I did not even have to click on it, it automatically started as soon as it popped up and from that point on I could not stop it. As soon as the webpage began downloading, the virus was working.
  14. Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know I have had a problem with the virus also. It happened first about a month and a half ago. I logged onto the site and immediately a Windows Xp Repair Box popped up saying it was analyzing my computer. It totally wiped out everything on my harddrive. Fortunately I was on my jobs' computer and we have an excellent IT department and they were able to retrieve everything. Not being sure if this virus came from this site, I got on the site again about a week later and the same thing happened again. Now I knew for sure! I have been accessing the site with my iPhone since then. I decided yesterday that I would be brave and try it again. Same thing happened again. We have an excellent secure system here, so I don't understand how this is getting thru. I am scared to try accessing it on my home pc, because if it wipes it out I will be in trouble for sure. I will just have to stick tom my iPhone for now until this problem is resolved. It just makes it a pain, because some things can't be done on the phone. Thanks.

    Stripers

Thanks Jeb. I will try those settings if I still have problems after getting the new transducer just in case. I have already downloaded the latest software also. Thanks again and good fishing.

    Stripers

Thanks Quillback. Any help on the fishfinder is appreciated too, because honestly I don't think a new transducer is going to fix the problem with the depth. Supposedly they are working on an update to fix the Gps. I do check Bailey's report all the time. Being as unlearned as I am about Striper fishing, I would like to know where or what would be the first place or topography to look for when an area is said to be holding fish? Considering how spooky I have been told Beaver Striper are, should you use your boat motor or trolling motor to motor back and forth over an area looking for fish? I know I have lots of questions, but I sure appreciate all the tips and advice everyone is giving. Thanks.

    Stripers

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the advice. I had to cut my trip short yesterday due to electronics problems. I have the Humminbird 798ci HD SI and this was the third time I have used it. Depth readings started going crazy, reading down to 1.7 feet and jumping all over the place in approximately 180 feet of water! I spent most of the morning floating around on the lake talking to 3 different techs. Just when we thought we had it fixed it would mess up again! It also has another issue with not tracking well with GPS under 2mph, but that is another story. Hummingbird is going to send me a new transducer to try and if that doesn't work I will have to send the unit in. I decided to just cut my trip short, because I can't even hardly find the stripers with the unit, so I figured I sure couldn't without it!!!! I do have another question I would like to ask. When people say Striper are being caught in such and such area, what should a person look for in that area? Lost Bridge South for example, do you begin by checking points sticking out in the lake, mid lake humps, any and all cove mouths, etc.? Lakes are big, so where should a person start looking and what should he look for? I wish someone would put together a freshwater Striper 101 or Striper fishing for dummies book for guys like me just trying to catch their first one!!!!! I would be the first one to buy it!!! Thanks again and good luck.

Thanks Stumpbumper, I appreciate the tip.

    Stripers

Thanks for the info Samkam1. By the way, I've been watching some of your Striper videos on YouTube. Great videos! Good luck to you too, It looks like you know how to catch them! I have decided now that I may put in at Lost Bridge South. I will probably just have to resort to brood minnows. Is there a place near Lost Bridge South to get these or will I have to make trips back to Hook, Line & Sinker? Another question: Do stripers hit perch or golden shiners very well? Thanks.

    Stripers

Thanks Quillback, I sure appreciate the help! I'm not a lazy fisherman, but coming over from Oklahoma, any help is greatly appreciated to keep me from spending all of my trip searching for stripers. Now I know some areas to start at. Thanks again. By the way, the ramp I am talking about is the one just southwest of point 6. It keeps you from having to pay at Rocky Branch and of course saves a little time. Does anyone know if this ramp is usable right now? Thanks.

    Stripers

Unless the weather turns windy or stormy, I am planning on going to beaver this Thursday morning early thru Saturday. According to Beaver Fever Guides photos they have been slaying them lately! Don't know where they put out at or generally fish, but I am hoping to put out at the small ramp near point 6 and go down the lake from there. Does anyone know if this ramp is open or is it under water? Bailey's report says big clifty, lost bridge and point 3 areas are good right now. Never fished these areas. Should you fish the channel or the coves right now? As I have posted before, I am still trying to catch my first Striper so I am learning. Also, does anyone know a good place in these areas to net some bait? Thanks.
  22. Turns out I am not going to be able to make it this weekend. Looks like it is going to be a couple of weeks yet. Thanks for the info though. Does anyone know what the water temps are right now? With the hot forecast, I wonder what they will be in a couple of weeks? Thanks.
  23. Just curious 3outfishing, were you trolling with boat motor or trolling motor? Were you using live bait or artificial? I am thinking about coming up this weekend from Ok. If a person was going to make the trip and only have Friday evening and Saturday to fish for stripers, would you guys recommend coming up now or waiting a few weeks until the water clears and goes down some? Thanks.
  24. Thanks guys!
  25. Finally getting around to doing this. I appreciate all the info and help everyone willingly gives on this site. I mainly use the Beaver Lake forum, because that is where my trips are usually to in search of stripers, although I am still trying to figure these fish out. I do love to trout fish also, just kind of into stripers right now. Thanks.
