  1. Nice looking fish Brian.
  2. Thanks guys, for your useful information. Look forward to the spending $$$$. Ha.
  3. First off don't know a lot about kayak varieties so looking to ask some "pros" their opinions. I fish rivers that are rock/gravel bottoms and in the summertime they get low, so some dragging goes along. I prefer the sit on top style and trips on the water probably would not be longer than a day. I like a 10-11ft style. The prices range from high 300's to over a grand. I don't need all the bells and whistles but just the right setup for fishing needs and for sure a comfortable seat and backrest. I will be buying 2. Thanks a lot for the help.
  4. To me it is very simple. We live in a basically free country and anyone can fish on just about any form of water as long as they purchase a license ($$$$$$$-MONEY MOTIVATED). I understand the points of view on this forum and we need to remember that this world is filled with all types of people, the givers and the takers. Takers will always rise to the top because of what they cause either in our communities or on our waterways, drawing that attention from the rest of us who follow the laws and regulations. Just remember, we cannot control everything or anybody, to do what is right, and there will always be a few who WILL take advantage of any opportunity that crosses their path. We have been blessed to have the ability to fish and float and wade for those wonderful bronzebacks, tomorrow is to short to fight battles unless it is the 2nd Amendment.
  5. I want Walcrabass to run for Governor!!!!!
  6. Didn't know our governments owned the water that God gives the people. As they can"t foretell the future weather patterns very well anyway, I guess from their decisions the people should know that any current or future droughts will be nonexistent. Just flush it man.
  7. Good points Walcrabass.
  8. Thanks straw hat. My dad lives on Mark Twain lake and their talking about dropping it too and it is already 6 ft. below pp. Don't know how most people think, but to be draining lakes across the Mississippi and Missouri river ways does not make a whole lotta sense. I understand drinking/bathing/washing needs have to be addressed but it seems to me that the companies who decide to use OUR water ways to move their products are getting a whole lotta help from our marvelous government at the expense of the people. There are other ways to ship their products, cause if they can only do half loads on barges tells me that will increase the costs. They dump water from all these lakes and then in a matter of days the water levels in the rivers drop again. But hey.......it's the federal government, enough said.
  9. Not a local, so what is going on with the lake level? Looks low now, are they working on the dam?
  10. Caught some nice walleye this fall on 4 in. red/black Chigger Craws. Really kinda was surprising to me. Your right too ozarkgunner about the chartreuse.
  11. Right on!

    Ramps

Does anyone know at what lake level they may close Crabtree Cove ramp? Sent two requests for an answer to the Corps in KC and of course have not received an answer. Not really a surprise. Coming down end of September for appx. 2 weeks, but at 5 foot low and falling each day, has me a bit worried, especially w/V-bottom boat. I know the lake may come up or stabilize by then, and then again maybe not. Thanks in advance.

    Bass

Very cool blue. Funny how the bite is different each day with these fish.
  15. Good, good story.
  16. We like to troll crankbaits. Depending on your expierence trolling, you might have to feel your way around to find what size/types of lures and weights to use. Good info on trolling on the internet. And no pesky bluegills to strip you clean.
  17. Your a funny guy charliehorsejigs. I can see it now! LoL
  18. Here is a good question, that will never get an answer. What would all those thoughtless boaters and skiers do if we impeded their fun? Always different when the shoe is on the other foot.
  19. No one mentioned those unintelligent people shouldn't have the use of public waters Mr. Rapp. Just some common manners. Just like we all want from each other.
  20. Yea. People seem to lose their intelligence around water, a lot. No weekends (swimming season) and no holidays for me out there.
  21. Handsome Smallmouth.
  22. The lack of common respect with people nowadays is a sad affair. You can be an idiot and still show some sort respect to whomever your screwing over. It is all about ME ME anymore. I better stop there.
  23. Hey man, I hear what your saying. Some people think they own the lake and their just letting you use it. Probably best you kept your cool, and your right, there will be another day to remember and see this jerk and hopefully give him a little taste of his own medicine.
  24. Somebody on this site likes to stir the pot. That's it!
  25. Awesome. Liked your detail. Thanks MarkKay.
