  1. Hey guys I fished last night, put in at Aunt's Creek around 5:45 and headed towards the James. First off the boat traffic was just stupid, in Aunts creek there was barely enough room to navigate out of the arm.. I don't understand why there is so much boat traffic in that arm, its not wide enough for that many boats. Then I rounded the corner around point 10 and there was about 30 boats coming down river at me and I was like this is the last time I do this. I took a rogue wave from an ocean sized boat at 35 mph that sent my 19.5 foot Hawk air born. I finally said enough is enough, I was trying to make it to Thompson Hollow but I just pulled in the first cove I could find to wait the traffic out. Made a few casts on a small secondary point and nothing, so fired the Yammy back up and headed to Thompson. Fished the points in Thompson and caught 5 K's on a pigsticker jig.. none keepers. I headed back towards aunts creek and fished a couple of docks in little Aunt's creek that produced a couple more short K's. Then we woke up early this morning and put in at Indian Point at about 6:30, I hit some of my smallie hot spots from a couple of weeks ago... nothing. So I decided to pick the 10" Zoom worm up and fish the flooded stuff for a bit about 8 o clock now. Second cast next to a flooded bush in 10 fow produced a 3 lb LMB. So I fished the rest of the bank out that way and nothing but 'Gill bites. Then I decided to pick up and move over by Jaques creek, and found a real long run out near deep water and fished it with the 1/2 oz Pigsticker for the rest of the morning untill about 9:45 and caught 2 keeper K's and a short Smallie. Fishing is getting much tougher, and when you do get a bite they don't hold on to it long. I got off the lake at 10 to avoid the boat traffic idiots and the heat.
  2. He'll be putting my HDS5 on my Hawk Friday, fuel tank has to be removed for the shoot thru. Hopefully they do it right.
  3. I hit the water this morning a little late, I think we were on the water at 7:30 or so, and was only able to manage 1 keeper. I was throwing a pigsticker jig about all day on a couple of buff ends, and main lake points around state park. That was my first trip to the lake, I am also new to the area but I fish Table Rock pretty often. The bites, and fish were coming in about 10 feet of water, I expected to catch fish in 25 foot but I couldn't buy a bite that deep. It got hot quick so I was off the water by 10:30, but overall was cool to get on a new lake.
  4. Ditto on the one of my favorite places.
  5. Thats a heavy boat for a 200 2.5 Merc.. they are good top end motors but don't have the low end torque of the newer big blocks. Even still it should get up better than that, I hear that the plastic plugs (PVS plugs) are responsible for a lot of the hole shot.
  6. Just wonderin' if anybody has found the elusive crappie this time of year? Taking gramps out fishing thursday night and while I'm the bass angler he likes to crappie fish more than bass.. just wondering if anybody has found em? I kow they are tough this time of year.
  7. They were PB&J, and green pumpkin and purple with trailers.
  8. Sweet thanks for the info
  9. Here is a picture of one of my best fish on the day.
  10. Fished out of Indian the last 2 days and the smallmouth bite on the jig is pretty killer. Get out there and get you some of em.
  11. 10-20 foot, setting the boat in 25 fow most of the time.
  12. I fished last night from 5-730, and again this morning on some of my spots around indian point. I ended up with 12 last night, nothing but brownies and most all keepers. Then this morning I caught 20 with the big fish being a 20.5" 4 pounder. I am throwing a couple different color chompers 1/2 oz jigs and they are eating them whole. Great fishing on TR right now, for smallies at least.
  13. Hey guys, I have had limited success in the past with a blade on Table Rock. I generally throw shad type colored War eagles.. double willows. At this time of year is the blade effective? How do you like to retrieve them? Slow and steady rolling the middle to bottom, or burning a foot or so under the water? What depths do ya'll like em? And I know they are best in the wind, but any success otherwise?
  14. Hey guys, this is the first time I have really fished Table Rock in the early spring. I have fished from Indian Point to the mouth of the Kings arm, and there are Loons everywhere. I didn't know if they are here every year at this time or what. They sure are a pretty bird.
  15. Well we'll be back at it Friday, and Saturday we'll be fishing the Heartland tournament.
  16. Hey guys, me and a buddy fished from 8-3 both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday we put in at Mill Creek and fished around Wolfpen Hollow, and Kimberling City. Water was pretty calm saturday and we fished timber, bluff ends, points you name it. Produced 1 fish all day on a swim grub. We threw Warts, grubs, jigs, and jerk baits in 1-25 foot of water. One fish all day had us scratching our heads. Sunday we put in at Cape Fair and tried to fish Piney branch first thing, but the wind limited the effectiveness of that. Once again we were throwing warts, jigs, grubs, and big spinner baits on deep bluff structure right around cape fair. We also fished smith branch. We ended up with 3 fish on the day all coming in the back of a cove up by Bridgeport. All fish came on warts, and were short. Did we just stink it up this weekend or was it tough for all of you? And what in the world were we doing wrong?
  17. Hey ya'll this is my first time post to the site. I have been fishing Tablerock for about 6-7 years with limited success. I have done my best in the spring. Long story short me and a buddy are headed out this weekend for a full weekend of fishing and I am kind of wondering where to start. I am up for fishing anywhere from Indian Point to the James all the way to Baxter. I was wondering where the best place would as well as what baits.. topwater, worms.. etc. What depths the fish are at and what not to do so we dont waste our time. Thanks everyone!
