Anyone been on the lake for bass since the rain and these cooler nights and not so high temps in day? What is surface temp?? Planning on hitting the water this weekend if all goes as planned and will concentrate out deeper this time instead of pounding the shores and catching dinks!!!!

Same goes with the greaser and sons creek area no surfacing of whites but shad along some of the flats. Figured they would be busting by now. Mainly fished for bass with topwater at daylight this morning and only a few dinks close to shore. Fished for 5hrs and finally called it quits. 15-20 fish and no keepers. Most came in 5-10fow on topwater and plastics. Hope someone else has the lake figured out this year!!!

What year is motor?? If not plaining out on water but starts and fast idle revs Engine fine and prop has not been changed then most likely cylinder or cylinders are down on compression!!! Get to reliable shop/mechanic and have it looked into.... My outboard was 1987 mercury Blackmax 200hp with carbs Only and not efi so could be something totally different.. Hope this helps and good luck. What are some places near your area I know a lot of good marine mechanics maybe guide you in right direction and won't break your wallet!!!!

Congrats on the great outing!!!! Sounds like alot of fun. Was the water really stained on that area of the lake due to all the rain???

Water color is slightly more stained due to the rains and runoff and has come up about a foot compared to 3 days ago when I was on the water last!!! Had to look out for the occasional floaters (logs and Limbs)can play hell on a boat.

Recommend a Weight forward fly line know matter what the brand and price. That 2 can make alot of things nice and easy. Good Luck. Stop in at the fly shop before getting off of fall creek road onto the taney turn and those guys will hook you up. Tell them your not cheap but what your looking for. Great guys in there.

Very good replies guys not much to say as most has been covered. However be sure to scope out the terrain and water during the day as to get berings and what not. It seems to have changed alot and some holes are gone and new ones formed. Also dead drifiting the woolies by making a slight up stream cast and then slowly pointing the rod tip in the direction on the fly line with a little slip back notch of fly line between two fingers and watch for it to jump then set the hook. A lot of trout will hit the woolies and zonkers on the down drift and just pop it. Good luck

Yep mostly correct. But look for things to turn around once the new tourney director gets things all lined out. And some anglers at weigh-in like to drag out things to the last minute thinking they are pro's or something. The director is always in 1 hr to 30mins before the wiegh-in setting up so some early birds can start weighing in. As I see it if you don't have that kicker fish by then it probably won't happen anyways. Should have done the homework and put in the time before hand. Good luck and enjoy.

You are right!! The tourney trail is a fun but of course serious fall/winter series. Alot of great fishing on both the scheduled lakes still to come.
