  1. Have they ever finished the new bathrooms they were working on between Outlets 2 and 3? Last I heard the project was in limbo-just sitting there partly done.
  2. I just sent an e-mail voicing my oposition. I remember one foggy morning years ago when I was fishing across from what is now Lilly's when that dredging boat came up. You couldn't see it in the fog till it was nearly on you. Needless to say, it scared the hell out of us. Dave
  3. I have a 1995 ford bronco XLT for sale. It's two tone dark green over gray color. Leather seats,5.0 liter V-8 engine,72000 miles. It is in excellet condition with no rust. Oil always changed on time, transmission fluid and antifreeze changed at 30000 and 62000. Heavy duty tow package. If you would like to see a picture, I can e-mail you one. I'll try to attach a picture but not sure if I can. Can be seen in Mexico,Mo. Asking $7500. Dave Potts
  4. I fix them similar to how Phil described except I put the fillets along with the butter/lemon juice mixture in a glass dish and then cover the dish with saran wrap. Then microwave them for around three minutes on high. Time will vary depending on how thick and how many in the dish. This method also works great on salmon fillets. Dave
  5. Aren't they building a new restroom east of the picnic shelter also? Realize this is separate from the hatchery construction but was wondering how it was coming along.
  6. Thanks for the info. Exactly where is your store located. I'll be coming from Rogers, AR where my son now lives. Plan on coming next week if they get enough rain as my son and I are planning to float the upper Buffalo if there is enough water in it. Dave
  7. Im a little confused. I'm planning to fish Beaver tailwater immeadiately below the dam and am not sure if this area is restricted to barbless flies or not. One site I saw said the new regulations require barbless hooks for bait fishing but are barbless hooks required for regular flies? Thanks for any info Dave
  8. Walleye. How are you fishing the crackleback? On top and then skipping or on a sinking line? Dave
  9. I was there with Glenn and also saw the fish. I'm sure Glenn will post it when he gets some time. We didn't get back till late Sunday and Glenn had to work today. Give him a few days and if he doesn't have it up I'll remind him. Dave
  10. Uncletube and I met through another board and have since tied and fished together. Brian, you said you grew up in Fulton. So did I. When did you live there? I graduated from FHS in 1960 and have lived in Mexico,Mo since 1966. Dave
  11. The John Deere is actually a jig. It's tied on a 1/32 or 1/64 jig head and has a chrartreuse chenille body with a dark green head and yellow eyes (thus the name John Deere). Weaver's at Bennett sells them. I've heard they can be really hot at times. Dave
  12. I live in Mexico,Mo which is about a 4 to 5 hour drive from Branson so can't really come down for a class. However, I try to get down to Branson 2 or 3 times a year and the next time I'm down on a Tuesday I will try to catch a class. Dave
  13. RR Veteran, An excellent flytying site is www.flytyingforum.com Check it out Dave
  14. There's a book out about Traver's life that is an interesting read with some great pictures about his haunts and equipment. The book is rediculously expensive at $45 however, Barnes&Noble currently has it on their "bargain shelf" for only $6.98. I found it in the Columbia ,Mo store but imagine it is in other stores. The title is "Voelker's Pond-A Robert Traver Legacy". Dave
  15. Kyle, I went down there last Thursday when the weather was warm. The fishing was lousy. I caught two fish on glo balls and had one hit on a dry fly in about four hours fishing. I would estimate there were a total of about 15 to 20 people fishing and I saw a total of 4 fish caught besides my 2. Dave
  16. I agree with Lucky Fly-I tie a lot of them with holographic bodies and grizzly hackle. Another good way to fish them is stripping on a sinking line. I've watched them at Bennett and they almost always take them on the strip, that is, when the fly is moving as though they don't want it to escape. Dave
