  1. Hey Brian, what are you doin on my river!?!?!?! I am glad you had a good trip. I have a few "secret" holes that are usually over looked on that stretch of river. Give me a call before you make it out again and we can talk. Some of them are just good goggleye holes, but almost always produce a few Smallies!!! My daughters are in the Camdenton Marching Band so I have been spending most all of my time at their Marching competitions. Somehow, I got volunteered to help do the cooking for the entire band (over 200 kids). It is fun but really cutting into my fishing time!!!!! Joe
  2. Jet Fisher, Here is a link to a boat manufacture that I know is using it. I am not sure if there are any in our area that are using it though. http://www.rockproofboats.com/home.html You might also check with Kevin Turner, I know that he is familiar with the UMHW but don't know if he applies it. http://www.riverpro-boats.com/
  3. Thom, I wouldn't be caught dead on MY (yep, it's mine but I'll let you fish it) lake without a spinner type (road runner, horse head, etc...) 1/16th ounce jig head and a RED and Chartruse tube jig. I haven't been out for a little while but unless the upcoming hot weather keeps the water temps up, the fish should be in less than 12' of water and going nutz.... Let us know how you do. Joe
  4. Wayne SW/MO Posted Apr 12 2006, 08:08 PM I heard that Landau folded, but I can't confirm that. Tracker, G-3 and Lowe are also made at Lebanon. Wayne, Landau did fold up for a while but now the original owner has taken it back over and they are in production again.

  6. Thanks for the input guys... sounds like it will be a float on the bryant...
  7. Went to the river Saturday and did "okay". We put in at Prosperine and ended up motoring all the way up to the Bridge piers then fished our way back down. The water is really starting to clear up and the leaves were already becoming a problem in the slack water. We did manage to catch a couple of nice smallies and several nice large mouths. I am not sure why but my last few trips on the area above Prosperine I have caught more Large Mouths than in years past. We got a late start and didn't get in the water until about 10:00am. First fish came on a white Buzz Bait about 10 minutes into the day, after I set the hook I realized it was not the fish I expected, it was an 8" goggle-eye. This is the third goggle-eye I have caught on a buzz bait. I threw the Buzz bait for about 30 minutes and never got another hit. I then decided to go back to the basics and started throwing a Case magic stick, t-rigged. The fishing was okay, and the best bait was the magic stick in Watermelon Red. totals: 1 15" smallie, 2 13" smallies, numerous little ones. 4 LM over 14", 2 LM over 12" and a couple of goggle-eyes. Joe
  8. Just curious if there are any smallie fisherman in this fourm. I am a member of a local camping club in Caulfield and looking for a new river to smallie fish. I am considering floating from the Blair bridge to Dawts Mill... Just looking for any feedback for this float. I will not be floating until mid September so I am hopeful the canoe hatch is over... I am used to the canoe hatch on the niangua so the canoer's don't scare me to bad!!!! Anyway, just curious about the smallie fishing. Joe
  9. Brian, Glad you did well. I too got messed up in the Semi wreck out on 54. Luckily I know the back roads and made it around!!! Sorry I missed your phone call. I actually changed species and was in the woods getting stuff ready for Deer season!
  10. Wayne, You are correct in the section of river I was talking about. You are also correct on finding any good 1 day floats below Prosperine. I don't know of any easy way to do a one day float without a very long shuttle. Joe
