I have seen quite a few posts on here of guys looking for Ned rigs, TRD's and ZinkerZ's. My friend Eric over at Ozarks Extreme Outdoors just got in a whole bunch. Check out this link to see his Z-Man wall on his Facebook page. He is located just south of Silver Dollar City. Here is his address: 1056 Indian Point Rd Branson, MO 65616 417.251.5318 Happy Fishing!

Worked the Legends of Golf tournament this weekend and needed a little R&R Saturday night after working so thought I would head over to Table Rock State Park marina and fish from the bank for the last hour or so of light. So I grabbed my rod and my Ned rig stuff and headed over. Caught one little smallie after a few casts, so at least knew I wouldn't be skunked for the night. I hate getting skunked! I kept getting bites, but nothing would really take it for the first half hour or so. I thought I would take one more cast in the spot I was at and then move down a little bit. I cast my PB&J Ned rig out about 30 feet and just let it sit for about 30 seconds then all of a sudden I got one heck of a hit. It hit 2 or 3 times real hard and then was gone. I reeled in my line to find my Ned rig clean cut in half. Totally shocked me as that ElaZtech is hard to rip apart. The only thing I could think it might have been was a Walleye. Any other ideas? Well, needless to say I decided to move down after a few more casts and nothing. I guess the move was a good one. I ended up catching two nice smallies. One on a PB&J and the other on the green pumpkin. The trick was to let it sit. Each fish had a story with it. The bigger of the two came as the sun was setting. I just about had it in when I heard a noise behind me. I turned around to see a game warden standing there. I was a little startled, but he was a real nice guy and was just checking to make sure I had my fishing license (I did luckily). As you will see in the picture below, he ended up taking the picture for me. The last fish I caught was on my last cast of the night. It was almost pitch black out and I could hardly see a thing. I decided to take one more cast. It paid off. I was using the green pumpkin TRD and decided to just let it sit out there for 30 to 45 seconds before doing anything. It paid off! A nice 14 inch smallie. Picture below taken in the dark. So, all in all a fun night fishing and a little R&R. Thank you Dave for getting me some of your Ned heads. They worked great! I was using the 1/16oz head. Thank you everyone on here for sharing how you are fishing the Ned rig. I love reading all these reports! Great information!

Thank you everyone for the replies. Great info! I will have to get out there and give them a try. I will let you know if I have any success.

Thanks Jeb!

I've only fished Table Rock a handful of times, but hoping to change that soon. Thinking about trying a Carolina rigged lizard when I'm down there next week and was wanting to know what colors are best and is there a particular brand that is better than another? Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for sharing Dave. Sounds like another great day. Look forward to getting some of your Ned heads and trying them. Are you still mainly using the 1/8th oz heads?
-
Great report! Man I wish I could be down there right now. Have to wait until next weekend. Did you throw the Ned rig the whole time? How deep were they?
-
Thanks for the info! That is what I was thinking too, but wanted to see if there were other colors out there that were working.
-
Thanks for the report. What color DieZel MinnowZ do you recommend for Table Rock. I just purchased some of the Pearl Blue Glimmer. Thanks!

Thanks for the report. I have been in that situation with my brother-in-law many times with the boat not starting. Glad to see that you were able to get out and take advantage of some great fishing.

***Price Reduced*** I'm looking to sell my two Buck's Bags fishing pontoons. One is the Buck's Bags Bronco and the other is the Buck's Bags SouthFork. These have been well taken care of except for one mishap with the SouthFork (*see details below) and are in need of a good new home. I'm willing to sell them as a package deal or individually. I only have one pump and one air adapter, so if they go separately, the pump and air adapter will go with the Bronco. I also have a set of Force Fins and a set of standard fins. The Force Fins go with the Bronco as it is the nicer upgraded model. Please see attached pictures for condition of pontoons and the accessories. Details: Buck's Bags Bronco - Green Asking $450 Includes oars, pump, air adapter, four side bags (seen in pictures), anchor system and Force Fins Buck's Bags SouthFork - Blue Asking $250 Includes oars, two side bags (seen in pictures), anchor system and standard fins If purchased separately, you will need to contact Bucks Bags to purchase air adapter and purchase a pump that will work with adapter *The damage to this pontoon happened on a trip when it slid off my truck and tore the outer material on the end and popped the bladder of one of the pontoons. A patch was put on and a new bladder was purchased. Have used multiple times since being repaired and works great. See attached pictures as I included two that show the repair. If you would like to purchase both pontoons and all accessories I am asking $700 or make an offer for it all. The pontoons have been kept in storage bins and have not been left outside except when being used. If you have any questions, please let me know. Well, let's just say we were going down the freeway when the tie downs slide all the way to the back of my truck bed and that is when when the pontoon flipped up. Only that one pontoon hit the road before we could stop. I would say were going about 65mph. Luckily we were able to stop quickly before it did anymore damage. That is why it is only on the end of that one pontoon. The rest of it is in great shape. It was unforunate, but luckily was easily repaird and back on the water. These are great little boats, I'm just needing to sell them as they aren't getting used anymore and need a good home. -

Well, I grew up in Idaho and can tell you there are some great fisheries there. The Snake River is a great place to fish, even though I didn't get to fish it near as much as I would have liked. I moved to Missouri from Pocatello, Idaho, which is just south of Idaho Falls. Depending on how far you want to drive, the closest and best place would probably be Henry's Fork. If you want to do a little driving, then there is the Big Lost River and Silver Creek (which is a world renown stream), just to name a few of the more popular places. I grew up fishing both of these streams a lot since they were closer to the Sun Valley Idaho area where I grew up. If you are going to only have one day to fish, I would highly recommend that you find a guide that can show you the ropes for the area. You won't find anything out there like Taneycomo, but what you will find is beautiful lakes, rivers and streams that are breath-taking. Especially when you get up into the mountains and fish the mountain lakes and streams. I have fished many streams, rivers and lakes in the area and the fish were plentiful, but usually not the size of the big ones in Taneycomo. I hope you are able to find a great spot and/or guide that can give you a wonderful day of fishing. If I can help out in any other way, please let me know. I would love to hear how your trip goes. Please keep us posted. Best of Luck, Tyy

Thanks for the info. I will have to get out there and try it. I will let you know how it goes once I get a chance. Maybe I will see you out on the water. If you see a guy in a personal pontoon boat, it's probably me since I don't see anyone else around here using them. Thanks again! -

Thanks for the report! Where do you put in and fish when you go. I have been thinking about taking my boys out on my personal pontoon boats I have and kicking around Springfield lake some. I have never fished it and live 5 minutes away. Any insight you are willing to share I would love to hear. Thanks! Tyy -
Great report! I took my boys out on some personal pontoons over the 4th of July weekend on the Niangua arm and had some fun until the boaters got out. I can't wait until September gets here and the traffic dies down so I can get some more time on the lake. You guys definitely got into the fish it looks like. I would love to have a day like that on the lake. Hopefully soon. I will try and take some pictures to share next time we get out. Thanks for sharing your trip. I'm jealous.

Hey Kevin, Thanks for the reply! I heard that it was good below Hootentown, but wasn't real sure where to take out. I will definitely have to give that a try. I will keep you posted. I'm waiting for the temps to drop a little before I take on that adventure. Tyy

Hello All, I'm looking to take a full day float trip on the James with a friend and I'm looking for ideas/suggestions. I have two personal pontoon boats and I would like to find a good place to put in and take out that will take 7+ hours with lots of fishing. I'm really wanting to find where the good smallie fishing waters are, so any pointers in that would be great. Also, what are your favorite baits/jigs/cranks/spinners to use for these? As soon as the temps drop a little, I hope to get out. If you are willing to share your favorite floats and baits I would love to hear them. My friend is new to fishing and I want to find a great float that will give him a great day on the water. Thanks in advance for your help! Tyy

Thanks for the pointers guys! I will be at the lake this weekend and will have to give a few of these a try. I have fished the 7" worms and the Chompers twin tail grub with skirt and have done quite well this way, so I am sure it will be much the same style. I love learning new techniques to add to my arsenal. So, off to Bass Pro I go to pick me up some 10" power worms. See you on the lake!
-
Ok, I just have to ask. How do you rig these 10" power worms? I have seen on many different forums people recommending 10" power worms. I'm starting to believe that there is something to this. I'm heading to LOZ this weekend and might have to try this. Where do you fish them and how? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
