Went out for the first time this year on lake springfield in my kayak after work today. Fished the shallows and had a few fish hooked on Senko worms rigged the wacky way without any weight.
About a half an hour before dark the bass were exploding into the school of shad in less than 2' feet of water. Didnt land anything tonight but watching shad fly out of the water as the bass were aggressively crashing through them made my evening worthwhile.
Before too long the bass will be on the beds and attacking anything near them, love that little lake this time of year, plus its on my way home from the office hard to beat a pitstop like that!
