Went out for the first time this year on lake springfield in my kayak after work today. Fished the shallows and had a few fish hooked on Senko worms rigged the wacky way without any weight. About a half an hour before dark the bass were exploding into the school of shad in less than 2' feet of water. Didnt land anything tonight but watching shad fly out of the water as the bass were aggressively crashing through them made my evening worthwhile. Before too long the bass will be on the beds and attacking anything near them, love that little lake this time of year, plus its on my way home from the office hard to beat a pitstop like that!

Unfortunately for the residents theres nothing they can do, if i am not mistaken i thought all ramps on table rock are COE and public access to anyone.. But heck what do i know..

Just drifting with an indicator or stripping? I went to T-Rock, did well friday poorly today.. How far can you wade diwn from taylor now?

It is a COE ramp as far as i know, only problem is very limited parking there.. wjen the whites are going strong next to impossible to find a parking spot

Im probably gonna head down there or the lower james after work for a bit in the yak and see if i can tease a white with a clouser or swimming minnow.. only debate i have is james is 30 minutes little sac is an hour. seems to me that they are probably running better on the sac over the james? Any insight over one or the other?

Geez they are already there, ive put in by that old run down bridge up stream from there, had no idea they would run that far upstream already

Yeah i kinda figured id been tying them a little bigger than needed #4 1/32oz they'll be looking for a feast, but i agree once tied with natural you're past the point of trimming.. any color dumbbells work well for you? I figured any shad color body and red/char/natural eye color would be fine

Ive been tying quite a few clousers lately in a variety of colors mainly g/w p/g p/w w/w o/t as far as size goes ranging 3"-5" anyonehad luck with a particular size over another in years past?
