  1. really nice day water temp 57 to 58 good visibility high temp suppose to be 59 with wind 10 to 15 south. started fishing at 8:00 am using jigs, blades, cranks and jerkbaits. 9:30 not a bite not one. was near south breakwater at launch ramp water on it was 9 to 13 feet. put on junebug French and 1/8 weight texas rigged. caught one keeper spot and one keeper lm in 1st 5 casts. no more after that but if fish were that shallow would go flip shallow ends of boat docks. just wore out spots for the next 3 hours. twenty to twenty five with at least 1/2 being keepers. one spot was between 4 and 5 pounds. about 12:30 bite just about over. loaded up at 2:00 and went home. saw stacy king he was going out to wart fish. hope he had some luck.
  2. friend and I put in at state park. found most of the fish on bluff ends. most were on the windy ends. when you were on the ends with only a little wind no luck. caught most up shallow on a Texas rig 1/8 oz with junebug centipede.
  3. go to bass boat central and they have all kind of info on using, settings and understanding what you are seeing. I find this is a great place to use.
  4. got to cc 9:00 am wind blowing and muddy water about 1 to 2 feet of visibility. shad every where from cc to 10 miles down the lake. gulls working but no fish. fished jigs, blades, shakeyheads and cranks. no love. caught one keeper lm one nice eye and one keeper crappie along with a few shorts and small whites. water temp 59.7 getting up to about 61 degrees. in the meantime tore up my reverse gear. as forest gump says stupid is as stupid does. get the gear fixed and hope for better luck next time. only us and one other car in the lot. tells you they weren't biting.
  5. went up Monday going to put in at state park no joy. ramp was sitting high and dry in parking lot. went to mutton creek and put in there. fished mutton, googer and twin bridges. thought they might be in the bush but only caught a few (4). tried every thing but no pattern. lot of shad on top in all areas mostly in the deeper areas. could see lots on my hb. lot of fish on top. caught 15 to 18 with only 2 squeaker keepers. the rest were 12 or less. noticed lots of fish in the 20 foot range would guess a trolled shad rap or flicker shad at right depth would have caught some of these. o well better days are coming.
  6. been watching the forum and no one is posting on Stockton. does that mean fishing is real slow or is it real good and people don't want anyone to know. just wondering

  14. hit the water at 6 am. caught some spots and small jaws on tube and grub. 3 nice smalljaws on the points 2 1/2 to around 3 pounds on the grub (smoke red fleck) and small spots. went in the coves found tons of beds but only small bucks on them. but i noticed quite a few larger bass in the areas just moving around. messed around ate lunch and around 11:30 went back in the coves and started see nest with pairs on them. bed fished till 3:00 caught 4 plus 4 lm and 2 plus six. caught them on watermelon red french fry no weight 10 lb power pro with 3 ft of 8 fluro. lots of fun but tough to see the take. left alot that didn't bite. one other thing around midday noticed a lot of alge bloom started by the time i left water had a green tint and anything that hit that crap had a wad of slime. was wondering if anyone else noticed. good fishing

  18. went fishing today. put the boat in at 10:00 am. water temp 43 water clear. decided tolook for crappie. headed for 245 bridge and down to high point. water was little dirty at the bridge and real dirty at high point. watch for floating logs and branches. fished 2 of my favorite spots no bites. water still 43 so decided to go past state park and fish for eyes. long run but water was clear with at least 6 to 7 feet of visibilty. no eyes but did catch 8 LM with 5 keepers on jerk baits 15 1/2 to 17 1/2.water still 43 to 45. i threw a lot of crap but could only get bit on the jerkbait. talked to sevsral people fishing only one guy had caughtany crappie hegotthem around masters. i suggest you find a nice deep brushpile in cleaner water 25 to 30 feettoput a few in the boat. with the cold front next week probably be 4/15 or later depending that we don't get flooded out before it gets going and probably everything will start at once.
