Looks like one i caught. did you catch it off the tree sticking up there down from the 65 bridge? -
Went out yesturday for about an hour and a half and caught 2 between the 2 of us. about a pound each. did find a boat submerged in the lake upside down. looked like a big boat and looked like it had been there a little while. nice covering of moss. has anyone else seen it? wonder if it has a motor on it or if you could retrieve it.

What color jig were you using? 7- 10 inch plastic worms work well as well. I've noticed they swim off with them before it hits the bottom. -

were you fishing from a boat? if not where did you fish? -
i have not seen anything saying you can't. all i have seen is as long as it is not over 6 hp you can put it in. he has a belly boat too. he has been fishing it for yrs. he is the only one i have seen using one. i usually see boats, canoes, or kayaks. i have a 5 hp motor on my 14 ft alum richline boat and a 50 lbs thrust trolling motor.

I've learned a lot from his videos. i went quite a few times and didn't catch anything. i watched his videos and messaged him a few times and now i can catcha few on a trip. he is a great wealth of knowledge. i think the lake is only going to get better this year. the river portion is starting to come in with the fish they have been staying in the main lake until the last few weeks. this hot weather has them in a late august early september pattern from what he was telling me.

it was a 1/2 oz and i was slow rolling it about 6-8 ft. if anyone ever wants to go to lake springfield when i get my motor fixed are more then welcome to join me. i try to fish it once a week but i have been known to fish it up to 4 times a week. ive never caught crappie on anything but minnows. im used to stockton minnow fishing. i thought it was a bass at first. i saw on the mdc website it would have met the master angler requirements and the crappir record is around 4 or 5 pounds. but for master angler its 15 inches and around 2 pounds. it was close. next time im taking my scale and measuring equipment.

I'm trying to add a couple. My camera has the file size to big to add and that is after trying to downsize it. I will work on it tonight and then see if i can post it. I'd say close to 17 it was big never had anything that big. didn't have my measure but I put it on a life vest and it took up a lot of the room on it.

Went out today to lake springfield to check out an outboard i just got. Got the 5 hp 2003 Briggs & Stratton. first time out and it did not perform as expected. It may not have been in the water ina few years. If anyone knows anything any help would be greatly appreciated. I was able to get a couple nice fish to the boat. I caught the biggest bass and crappie of my life. The bass was around 24 inches long. didnt have a measure but put it to my shin and it was from my slightly above my knee to my ankle. I am 6'2 and when i got home measured around 24 inches. the crappie was at least 17 inches. both really nice. trying to upload a few pics. it was a frustrating outing but the fish made it all worth it. i am going to clean the carb out and change the spark plug and see if that helps. when it did run good it was an amazing outboad. The Bass was caught on a tequila sunrise power worm and the crappie on a war eagle double silver blade spinner bair chartruase and white.

I actually picked up the briggs and stratton 5 hp air cooled outboard for my boat. i am in the process of getting it licensed/ Registered and then am going to take it out. It's been since all this flooding began the first round since i have trout fished. I've only had my boat on lake springfield and I've only fished taneycomo at the public access at the outlets at the Dam. Bill and Phil I appreciate the advice i look up to you both and what you contribute. I am new to fishing the area and Fly Fishing. At work I'm the young guy and also possibly fishing. I am trying to expiernce more of Taneycomo and Table rock. Where is the Branson ramp and Scotty's?

Never fished the lower end? is that around the landing? how is the fishing there?

I have a 14 ft v - bottom boat with a 4 hp outboard on it. with this generation how would it do on taneycomo? i have never boated taney before.
-
I don't want to take it out on the main lake. i was to be in the coves or river arms. i don't want to be in more then 30 ft of water if i can help it. i wont put it in a lot i work in Branson and just want to make a couple trips after work for a couple hours. catch some crappie or bass. I'm new to table rock. will a 4 hp be ok for taneycomo? I know maybe not with full generation going.

I have a 14 ft aluminum v bottom boat. I am looking at purchasing a motor for it for use on lake springfield. if i were to bring it to table rock is there a minimum horsepower rating for the lake? also it will be a 4 to 6 H.P. outboard will that be enough? I'm not looking to go anywhere fast just to be able to be on the lake and fish some in different area's.
