Hey Troutn. Thanks for snapping the pics..
-
I went to the water about 6pm.. somewhere around 10:30 the water started dropping. IT WAS OFF Pictures around outlet are at the bottom.. hope you all can see them good enough to what happened.. the area at outlet got deeper... the is a big drop off (as of now).. up above 1 and all the way to the flats.. the flats dont seem much different.. but I sure it has changes it somewhere. we were able to walked all the way down to the big hole.. below outlet 2.. Most of it is knee deep. I walked out to the middle and it never really got deeper.. there is a big tree down at the stairs at outlet 3. as you walk out from the stairs.. that is all less then knee deep all the way to the head of the rebar hole (but still got some really nice current). the REBAR.. it has really filled in.. it pobably not 3-4 foot deep. the gunlet.. there is a big tree there.. right in front of the island of rocks. the hole... WOW. it filled in to.. I could not find the drop off (but Im not saying it isnt there). Also I could not see the little gravel island that on the left. here is a few pictures not sure how well they turned out.. these 2 are of the drop off (where we walked from the pathway up to outlet 1. from where I was standing this is about a 7-8 foot (MAYBE MORE) drop off... the picture are dark.. but Im sure we all can tell where these are taking... mostly at outlet 1..

here is a little report from the dam area.. Olive and black (PMS) jigs are working great.. and picking a few up on rooster tails.. whites black, and chartuese... (the big 1/8oz) not many fish but nice size..18-19inchers.. white and walleye are still there but really slowing down. jigs.. crankbaits and shad raps. I havent talked to many fishing around outlet 2.. but there always seem to be cars there. outlet 1.. it has really filled in.. you can see a fish or 2 here and there. But the are most out in the main lake. seems like the best action is early morning.. or late afternoon (after 4pm) Leonard

Hey Troutn... good report... good to see you got back on the water.. I was waiting to read about the smallies and walleyes you caught.. but I guess you were just chasing trout.. Kcangler... the area around outlet 1 is very bad.. alot of drop offs, holes, and a few suprizes laying up there... the water hasnt been off enough to really see the bottom... I stepped in on of the holes.. I was about knee deep.. took a step and I was chest deep.. and this was with 1 unit one.. WOW.. that water is still cold!!! outlet 2.. I havent really noticed any big changes from 2 down... but like I said.. it hasnt been off enough to really see the bottom... but the biggest change.. and the most dangerous.. has to be the area in front of the flat.. from where the ol'log laid (just below outlet1) down to the path way (the old boat ramp as referred by some)is completely wash away... ive seen this area with 1 unit on. But this was before they opened the gates for the second time. So it is probably got worst.. Ive noticed a few big rocks (boulders) that has changed locations...LOL Im sure there are a few trees in the water somewhere.. There is a new addition... by the old pathway (up by outlet 1).. the is a railroad tie in the water.. Outlet 1 has filled in just a bit.. I havent seen outlet 2 when the water hass been down.. As soon as I get there again and the water drops.. I'll try to get some pictures.. the lowest they are dropping the water now is 1 unit.. and it looks to be late (about 1 or 2 in the morning)... WOW... What a weekend.. Tie flies by day (early mornings)... and hit the water in the afternoon and evening bit.. Friday.. Started about 5pm.. with a crankbait.. a couple of trout nice ones pushing 17-19incher.. But the fun is just starting.. switched over to a PMS jig and hit 3 big smallies.. a walleye 21inches and about a 18in white bass.... yes they are still there. But they a slowed way down on the big stuff.. they want it small!! Saturday.. since the jig was still on I stayed with it for awhile... hook 2 fish but got off.. a couple a trout (maybe 4).. 2 more small walleyes (released)... I thought they were short.. about 16-17inches.... I guess the rule is: 16 inches on any Missouri "stream or river".. they look at Lake Taneycomo as a river. Sunday after noon... 1 trout..LOL.. I think Im getting better at avoiding them... 5 BIG smallies on the PMS jig.. and 1 on a stickbait. the BIGGEST was a 4 1/2lbs smallie... talk about a BRONZEBACK.. I wish I would have taking camera for this fish.. OH WELL stuff happens!! there was 4 guys there and they all saw it.. oh yeah.. Also caught a 22-23in walleye that is in the freezer now... total this weekend.... 2 white bass..released 1 big ol'gar.. released Less then 10 trout... released and 2 walleyes in the freezer I'll post a picture as soon as I load it... Leonard NOTE TO SELF..... Watch out where you step!! I caught this on a PMS jig. I was fishing in outlet 1... toss out and let it set on the bottom for a coulpe of seconds... I lefted and thought I was hung up... then the line started to move. I thought for sure I had a big carp on... well when it get close enough to see it I had to try to get it in. this thing was hooked at almost the tip of the snout. I sure if he would have "rolled" it would have cut though the line... it took almost 5 minutes to land it.. WHO"S READY FOR A FISH FRY??

KOLR 10 morning news has report the gates are open on Table rock dam... They just havent reported how many.. I guess we wont know until the sun comes out.. Leonard

my weekend started friday night.. got to the dam and there was still some high water. As I getting ready for an up coming trip, I pull out the fly rod to find a broken tip.. well I had to do something so I rigged the spinning rod with a glo stick and float with a midge and roo bug dropper.. I picked about about 20+ fish in an about 2 hour. and head home. fished from about 9pm-11pm -------------------------- Saturday morning up at 7am and on the water by 8. I met up with Jeff (capt. Bly) for a little fishing and scouting. we started in out 1 with still some high water. Saw a few big fish swarm the big flies but no takes.. after a little while a we noticed a couple guys catching fish.. when they headed out.. they a nice stringer full of whites and walleyes.. We stepped over and caught a nice mess of white.. using shad raps. I left the water around 1pm to head to Harrison for a little family time. returned to the water and met up with Jeff again for "some fun without the sun".. I let him post the report and his catches..... (LOL) I headed out about 2am (I think) and he was have fun so he stuck around and fished a while longer.. _______________- sunday... Back up at 6am.. Time to take good ol dad to the lake... we went for the whites.. but the had shut the water down to 1 unit and I think the whites moved.. catching some really nice bows on the shad raps. I glanced over to check to see if dad was doing ok. He had his rod double over and looks like he was hung on the bottom. As I made my way over to give him a hand. I saw the line moving and a big swirl.. then I saw the head.. Dad just landed his very first ever .... walleye... a sweet 24incher... YES... we took it home.. NOTE: I saw the lower side of outlet 1 this weekend.. we all know the big log that laid over there.. ITs GONE.. (I couldnt see it) as turn the bend coming down from 1 that bank is completely wash away.. theres a 10-12 foot "cliff" there now... it washed away from about 25 feet below the out let... and the way down to the pathway (the old boat ramp).. that single bush that sat there is gone. there is a large railroad tie laying over there not sure where that came from.. I saw this saturday night when the water dropped (1 unit).. it a big hole there and could tell how far out it was but with one unit on.. it was deep.. WATCH YOU STEP!! Leonard

DT.... and others.. Its going to take awhile for the bottom to "FIX" itself. Ive been down 4 of the past 6 days. Outlet 1 is TOAST.. muddy sand everywhere. Night guys.. check it out during the day before going at night.. Place where we had rocks.. there are gone.. and has been replaced by about 18in of muddy sand. I couldnt see where it was washed out before... but I think it got bigger and deeper. The upper part is really bad. The flats.. cover in sand. about 4-6 inches. very slick. Outlet 2.. It looks to me like the big rock have been moved.. it just doesnt look the same. a little bit of sand here.. slick but not bad if your careful. When I was there today. There was 4 units going (low).. later in the afternoon I heard they had 1 unit going. so that sudden burst of generation could have stirred up the sand and move some of it. Guy.. Careful when you down there.. It is really bad. Leonard

hit the dam about 6:00pm... to snap a few picture.. head over to outlet 1 and WOW.. its wash out... "FUBAR" ( if Phil will accect that term) Spinning rod in hand.. started with the PMS jig... 3rd cast BLAM...... and the drag starts to strip... a few minutes I see a beautiful BRONZE BACK... yep.. a sweet 19in smallie.. a dozen or so cast later... again... this was a bigger a stronger fish.. about a 22in ol'leather lips ( a carp).. MAN CAN THEY FIGHT!! here is a list .. 2 crappie.. a small catfish (13in) ... a small LMB (14in).. a gar.. oh yeah.. and 4 small trout... I did switch over a few time.. but eveerything came on the PMS. I left just after 9pm... was afraid of what I was going to catch next.. Leonard

Water is dropping at Lake Taneycomo... at outlet 1.. it has now receeded back down the concret and fence... this was about 1:15 when I was there....... Leonard Also the lookout close to the dam has been closed off... WATCH FOR PEOPLE CROSSING THE ROAD!!
-
the other day when I went down there. there was 3 guys standing there fishing.. I did grab my rod and dropped in a jig.. caught 1 in about 15 minutes and stopped. the fish I did see in there were no biggerr the 12-14inchers.. and very few (maybe 8-12 total).. yes you could probably stand there all day and catch one right after ther other.. but its probably the same fish.. I didnt see any fish in there over 16in.. I figure they would stack in there but there was NONE.. Leonard
-
I can offically say I have fished it... Rule is: You can only fish the outlet at water level. Even though it is maked NO FISHING. My understanding (hearsay)... MDC, a few local (un-named) and the Hatchery say so also.. You can fish that area as long as its water level...
-
LOL.. I need to meet that guy!!! Welcome to Ozark Anglers Glad to see you Jeff.... Im ready!! Leonard
-
I was thinking if I went fishing and took 2 thermos of coffee.. I could stand by the crapper and fish the ladder.. be "UP ALL NIGHT" and pee every 5 minutes and not miss a cast.. anyone wants to join me?? (I'll bring enough coffee and special creamer)....

Big E. Even though I know a few of the guys at Dogwood and not to take nothing away from them. But check out River Run Outfitters (www.riverrunoutfitters.com) they can help you. and they are about a mile away from the dam. Leonard
