  1. Gald you joined the swap Don... 2 days left for the sign up.. and we are at 13... Looking good... By the way..... *** I HAVE ADDED MY ADDRESS**** it is in the first post (the one that satrted the swap)... Leonard
  2. Terry...I must disagree... I had chili w/beans (with extra jalap. peppers) yesterday for lunch I still froze my but off last night fishing.. oh yeah I have done a report yet... but fishing was slow and cold... caught 5
  3. Id have to agree with Tim.. I to like to palmer (counter wrap) the little gnats.. but instead on mono.. I like to use the thread im using if its black... I pull out about 4-5in of thread (depending on size) before I start the thread... wrap that down the hook.. but 'DO NOT" cut the tag... add in you peacock.. wrap forward.. add the hackle wrap back... the wrap the thread in the opposite direction of the hackle... tye off the whip finish... either way... you can find the mono at any fly shop... or a wal-mart sewing department...
  4. David.. one of the place I fished when I live in Neosho was the small dam... I cant remember the name of the road its on... but as you are downtown Neosho you thurned left at the 4way(in front of the gas station) and it was on the left just passed the ol'junk yard... I beleive it was part of MDC.. but its a nice little place to throw a fly rod... *** watch for snakes**** there was a lot of them there
  5. THIS IS GREAT!!! thanks for joining Troutchaser, Steve ks, Rolan and Dan.. good to have you guys in the swap... This is looking to be a good one.. Leonard
  6. BrianK... call me.. (417)-779-8061 I would like to see what time frame your looking at... yes I have plans.. but maybe able to work around time.. Leonard
  7. Hey guys.. I did a new post that may tell you alittle on how a swap runs.. Next... Welcome to the swap Steve, Back2Roots.. glad you guys joined...
  8. In a swap... 1 guy starts it up and decides which flies or combination of flies for the swap. after here post it then he will wait for it to fill up.. and offers a due for the flies to be mailed to him then the swapper tyes up the flies of their choice (the one they decided to do).. There is a total number of swappers you tye that many of 1 fly ..and mail the to the guy who began the swap.. (if all flies get in early enough most of the time you do get them back sooner). the due is just a time frame to try to have them done.. I compensates for the guys who fish, work, family duties... so they have enough spare time for everything in between.. after you are done with the flies... try to get them in a crush proof container (like an altoid tin, small cheap fly box) this is so that your flies dont smashed.. then take a small piece of paper and tag the flies you had tied (this is the toe tag).. included should be you name or screen name.. name of fly.. and I you want to post the recipe on the forum.. PLEASE try to post it under one of your existing posts (like the one that has the fly name in it) then you mail them to the guy who started the swap (making sure you have a return package, enough postage to get them back (use stamps not meter mail)**) the host of the swap then seperates all flies giving each swapper a fly.. then he puts the back in the mail (this is why you need you return postage)..and mails them back to you... so after tye 15 of the same flies.. mail them to the host of the swap.. he then splits tem up and mails them back to all swappers.. in you return have 14 new flies plus the one you tied in the swap (a complete set) ***NOTE*** When you use meter mail for a swap... the post office wont use it.. Therefore put a few mailing stamps on it..The best thing to do is on you return evelope have about the same amount of postage you sent it with Dont forget to add you return address This is about all it really takes.. If any swappers has any other question.. please e-mail me or call me and I can explain it a little better then writting it out.. If I left anything out anyone who can think of it please post it.. Leonard (417)-779-8061... call if you may need more help... or if you want to BS

  15. Oh YOU GUYS... this was just starting to get funny!!.. but now speaking of a "CALENDAR"... I just may have to make one now.. showing the 18 big fish of 2006... that would make it 18 month caledar for all you hillbillies and hicks... I may even have to post some flies recipes on it as "fly of the month" but I'll use most of Micheal's flies (they work *sometimes*) so I can keep mine a secret... I even have to put a few small maps in there.. take a rock or two out for when Terry trys it by himself... "opps I must have forgot to add that one" Add and take a few beaver holes for Damselfly.. "watch them toes" Duckydoty.... I give him one of the "real" maps.. add JJtroutbum.. I make up some top "quality" flies with a little x-tra lead.. so once their wet they will be chuck and ducks...and I let you know the best nights to use them will be on VERY Windy nights.. flysmallie... I even have to put some food recipes in there... like catch'um and cook'um.. you catch them and throw them striaght in the oil.. with out cleaning them (Man is that better then seahorses!!!) Chocolate covered scud and worms.. dont knock till you try it!! And Mr.Ducky... I'll just show your wife how to out fish you!!! I'll post her picture in the next calendar holding a 15+lb brown and you next to her holding a 12lb bow (opps I meant 12in bow)
  16. Whodat... give me a shout.. I just reloaded new line on my rod and got about 40 rapalas, rebels and Pin minnows for 2.50 each (how that for a deal??) I need to work and strech the new line Leonard
  17. BUMP!!!!!!
  18. Mr.Ducky and Family... I enjoyed helping you all.. Hey .. I know one of these days Tami is going to out fish you..HEHEHEHE!! It was nice meeting you and your family... shout the next your coming down.. and well do it again.. Leonard
  19. Im sure everyone has heard... but here is the picture a witness says he thought the boy was forced into a rusty white Nissan pick-up with a camper shell.
  20. Brian... I dont think Ive said this very often.. but I really dont think I can make it out on Saturday.. (me turning down a chance to go fishing..I must be getting sick!!) I have to much going this weekend... but would like to hook up another time.. Leonard
  21. first thing my wife said when I got home.. "what took so long, did you go fishing again" I said "yep".. she went to bed..
  22. 1/07/07 night report.. fished between chutes 1 and 2 very slow. wind was strong, still almost a full moon.. tried scuds, woolies, leeches, zonkers, gray mink streamer picked up 3fish on the on the gray mink.. and 2 on a white zonker..no size out for about 2 1/2hours 1/08/07... night report fished from 9pm-11pm alot better then the night before.. clear skies and still a bit breezy gray mink streamer picked up 12 fish with the biggest about 18in brown... they stopped hit that so I changed over to a olive pine squirrel.. pick up 3more... well in the process of changing flies....I had the living "stuff" scared out of me... they blew a horn to turn on a generator.. well I got a gray zonker tied on and second cast was a 22in bow (big male).. had to go about 3 1/2 maybe a close 4lb totaled out close to 20 fish 1/09/07 daytime fished from 8:30am till about 11:30am fished with Mr.Ducky.. it wasn't bad for day fishing.. they had 3 maybe 4 units on..so with out a boat you are pretty much fishing in the outlets... well we started drifting a few scuds.. of course we caught some fish.. then the flushed out the hatchery.. and little baby trout was coming out.. so in the pocket I go with a jig fly (shad color) and hit 3 fish back to back about 2-3lbs each.. well Mr.ducky change flies over to a peach egg.. and caught a few fish.. so I changed over to.. I caught a few fish to... I think all in all ducky ended up with somewhere around 8-14 fish(no sure, maybe more).. and I had maybe just over 20.. 1/09/07 night time I got out for a little bit last night... had the chance to go to Jeremy's tying class.. I even learned a couple of thing (all you guys that know alot about tying.. try a class and see what you come out learning)....... I left a little early wanted to get in a little fishing.. when I got there.. I think they had 3 units on.. or had just shut them off.. walked over to the stairs to see if ducky was there... yep there he was.. rod doubled over a lite indictor on and about a 18-19in brown on the end of it.. well only real place we had to fish was the chute.. so with scud, sj worms and some eggs patterns.. we stood there and caught alot of fish (him catching most of them).. I maybe caught 6-10 fish .. he caught maybe 15-20 while I was there... we hook alot of fish for just a few seconds.. a good bounce out of the water then they were gone!!
  23. dont forget the big stuff.... I would try to keep the flies under a size 8 (6 absolute biggest!!) size 12 scuds.. big SJ worms.. and eggs... and sculpins... (picking on up here and there.. but not very active on the) WHITE.. dont for the whites... it has been really good lately! here's my number... 417-779-8061 Im not sure if I can get down there that night or not... but as the time draws closer.. call and I can give a good color choices... Leonard
  24. Dano.. here is a short list.. floaters, and surspenders and the count downs if 3 or more units are on.. rapalas.. black and silver.. black and gold.. baby browns.... also dont forget about the Yo-zuri pin minnows... Those are GREAT.. cost some though..about $7 per lure rebels... any of them the floats... but IMO.. the lips come off of these alot quicker the the rapalas.. Leonard
  25. Ducky.. I may stop for a little bit tonight.. watch for the flickering light at the top of the stairs..chute 2 Leonard...
