Mizzouflyfisher... I have been night fishing for over 7 years on taneycomo... but not on a reg. basis... I useally start with one thing and do all different types of strips and drifts... then the next time I go I start with the one I finished with the last time I went... I spent 3 years in Neosho Mo for my wife to graduate nursing school.. I came back last june to Branson (Ridgedale).. since this time I have been on the water 3times as many nights then days.. Im guessing maybe 15-20 nights a month.. yes there has been a few nights not worth reporting on... but I still catch a few.. maybe under 10 (is a slow night).. the next time you make it down, Id be more then willing to meet you there and drown a fly in the moonlight. I hit the water about 9pm and left around 1am (maybe a little after)... I was the only one there.. I left because I got broke off by something really big.. and I forgot my extra leader fishing was FANTASTIC!!! I caught atleast 50 fish and maybe missed as many.. so would hit so soft it felt like you were bumping the rock.. other would dang near rip the rod from your hands... I fished from chute 2 down past the big hole (a lot of big ones jumping). The biggest I got to hand was a nice 23in bow on an olive mohawk sculpin.. but the trouble with them tonight, was after catching 6 or 7 they wanted a diffent color.. they would go from black to white.. and olive to a gray.. and even caught afew top water..after fishing for 5 to 10 minutes without a stike I had to switch colors.. and they would tear it to pieces... tonight was a very peaceful night!!

I have a big garage that it can be stored in.. and I live less then 2 miles from Gages.. I can see them right across the lake from my house.

GREAT NEWS!!!! The wading staff and belt has been returned to the owner.. Just returned from the fly shop and they told me he pick it up a week or so ago....

No walleyes... But a buffet of fish.. Crappie, blue gill and trout... Lilly... yes that was the spot.. But they moved around a lot.. It seemed after catching one or to in one spot.. you had to move about 50 yds one way or the other just to find them again

The water is still to shallow for a boat.. I was fishing the rocks on the other side of river run.. and I was using a swimmimng grub.. but in a day or 2.. Im going down with the fly rod and some wollies and try again..

Im not saying where.. or what I caught them on... but... 12 crappie.. between 13-17in.. Just got ate for dinner... And I have 4 fillets for tomorrows lunch.. YUMMY!! I caught them just a little ways below the dam.. and they were bitting good.. I was there about an hour total.. missed a few lost 2 big ones... and caught about 15 trout.. buggest was about 18in rainbow... thought about him as dinner... but I wanted crappie

SowBug weekend 2006.. Dad and I headed to Mt.Home about 4pm and got there about 5:30 we wanted to hit the river that night but head to find a motel before they all filled up.. Sat.. 6am up and ready to go.. we went to Roundhouse Shoals since thats the first place we found Fish was good we started at Roundhouse and fish up to the bridge dad was catching a few on scud and I was sight fishing with a white wolly we caught maybe 25 total.. Then we headed to the Sowbug as I was a tier there.. Saturday evening tried a new spot Wildcat Shoal.. Nice place.. would be a great place for night fishing.. I only caught 1 fish there.. but it was a 22in brown.. SWEET!! Sunday morning up and at it again.. some place Roundhouse Shoal... What a day.. chilly and a bit windy.. but the White wolly did it again.. We total out about 100 fish that morning.. I will be going there quit a bit this summer.. I had a blast.. Me, my Dad, fishing and some beer drinking.. doesnt get any better then that!!

WHAT A BLAST!!! If any of you had ever thought of going but never did... need too.. It is so much fun. Lot of tyers, lots of thing to do, lot of people to meet... And the fishing is FANTASIC!! All in all a great weekend... I meet alot of different people and enjoyed talking to them all

Man it was a AWSOME night.. Alot of people out there last night (maybe 15+).. and the fish were bitting At first I thought it would be a slow night.. 30 mins below chute 2 and 2 fish but about a dozen soft hits (and they were hitting soft!!) moved down to the run between the rebar and big hole... and it was on! I maybe total out about 40 fish in about an hour and half.. 4 of them back to back was 18-20in range.. got 1 that maybe was 23. Browns were bitting lastnight too.. I was using a white wooly and the last 30 mins switch to a white mohawk sculpin.. Had to leave.. the storm started to get close.. and I dont fish waist deep with a fly rod in my hard when it lightening

this wasnt just a plain wading staff... it was a fairly good (high end) staff... VERY NICE ONE... So yes I would really like to see this returned to the right owner He told me he visits taneycomo quite a bit.. I think if I remember right he visits this for some fishing reports... so I really hope he see this!!

Last night I was on Taneycomo... got the about 8:40.. and I talked to a guy.. in the parking lot of chute 2 had a wading staff and wading belt.. and this was left in the parking lot where you were parked... If you see this message call me to comfirm its yours.. (417) 779-8061 we were the only 2 in the parking lot at the time Leonard...

Ill be there as a tier to.. I think im tying friday morning and saturday evening... but I'll be on the river somewhere's too..

Sorry I didnt make it guys... As I turned onto 165 the sleet started... I sat there for about 10 minute... and it was getting alittle heavier.. Being that I had to stay the night down there once before (due to a similar storm).. I turned around and went home... that and momma called cussing me out when she saw the fly rod and waders gone...LOL I didnt think this was gonna hit till after 11pm

what the hell... Also know as the night anlger (on other sites)... why not if you see this in the next few minutes.. I should be down there about 8:30... Im on my way out the door... see you there!!!

Yes Im right across the bridge... in the photo... to the right.. you'll see the long creek swimming area, and the boat dock next to it... that cove to the right with the 2 docks in it... is going to be my veiw... when my new place goes up... with in a month or 2 Brian... I'll take a beeter picture of my veiw and post it there... plus the next time I go over to my dads... I take one of his... his is about 10x better then mine Hey Captain.. come by and have lunch with me someday... Im working at Pizzas-n-cream

It was really great meeting everyone today... and the fishing wasnt bad either...hehehe I caught 3 the was over 17in.. totaling out to about 15 fish on a white sculpin..

Im planning on be there... but like Tippet... only for a couple of hours....Im may try to get there around 10:30 or so.. so I can get some time in.. I start up around chute 1.. for all who is going to get there early.. Who has a truck?? other side of the dam.. in those 2 parking lots... I saw a couple bags of trash and a old car battery.. momma would shoot me if I put that in her van!!
