  1. Was there anyone fishing during the weekend.. as the storm hit?? Its my understanding that the wind REALLY kick up hard as the front hit the dam... and the wind was unbelieveable... around outlet 2...a water spout formed and blow down stream toward the rebar hole... knocking over a few fishermen... nobody got hurt..which is a good thing.. Was there anyone there that saw this??
  2. I got the about 10pm... the water was just starting to drop.. so I started with the scud (tan) and egg (pink).. picked up a few by outlet 2... well I decided to see what was happening up at 1.. stay with the scud and egg and picked up a few more.. well I wanted to throw a streamer so I rigged back up and tied on a size 6 beaded black Pine Squirrel.. with a strong wing blowing the chop on the water helped from about 11:45 to 12:30.. I caught 25 on the pine squirrel and stopped.. They wanted it stripped fast 4 or 5 times (about 2-3 foot strips)... and then a dead dead stop... as soon as it stopped.. they would NAIL IT... thesee were not soft takes...They hit so hard.. I dropped my rod twice... even had 3 that took it off the top of the water. the fish ranged between 14-17inches.. basic stocker..
  3. Hey Rodney.. I enjoyed the fishing and putting a name to a face... I had a blast.. we need to do it again sometime.. I must add... Those fish down around KOA were fighters.. using a 7wt they doubled it over like a monster brown.. and they were 14-17in range.. AWESOME little fighters!! I had one on that striped my drag about 30 feet... it was good...
  4. Well DANG... If John cant make.. there is no reason to make and bring seahorse....and special coffee.. YEAH RIGHT!!! I got 4 dozen already made and he'll just have to wait till next year...LOL Or contact me the next time he heads this way and I'll have a dozen ready for him..

  8. hey Terry.. sounds like your doing pretty good.. Remember you, Dano, and me still hasnt hit the water together.. As for the gall badder... I can atest for it.. I feel her pain.. I had mine removed.. I was sick 5-6 days a week for about 3 weeks.. we they finally took it out they said any longer and it probably would have rupted .. here a little something to know.. I was unable to lay flat on my back. and always need a "support" pillow.. That will help alot.. wish her the best and will be praying for her... Leonard
  9. Now thats a prediction Id have to agree with too.. Although... Egg patterns are really starting to pick up some really nice fish too... in Peach, pink, and orange (with a red dot).. Leonard

  11. Oh Man.... NOT ANOTHER TEXAN!!!! Robin... Good to see you... its been a long time... How you been??? Glad you got on the forum. Leonard (AKA.. Night Angler)
  12. Sow bugs and scuds again... This time gray (early)... olive (later into the night) sowbugs with roo droppers.. lots of good fish...
  13. Hey Brian... Fishing has been good... a few big boys hanging around.. Crowds havent been big (6 people total last night)... But being weekend that could change quick... Sow bug,Roo bugs and scuds have been great..
  14. Here is the past 4 night (since the storm).. Ive been on the water every night... fishing roo bugs and sowbugs under a glow in the dark indicator... man does that wear you out.... (this was before my hair cut and in the rain!!)... cold, rainy, and alot of special coffee.. and the best for last.. 9yr old Mitchell....3 time fly fishing 1st at night..
  15. Hey Zander.. Short strikes are always going to happen.. but try this.. if your using the PMS and getting short stikes.. go smaller.. like a pine squirrel.. that useally helps.. Down sizing always seem to do the trick.. Leonard
  16. I agree with MoBass.. Ive seen (and caught) more smallmouths between Roark and Turkey.. Mostly on stick baits with generation.. they tend to move into the mouths and inside the creek when the water is flowing.. The biggest smallmouth (21in) Ive ever caught (and walleye 24in about 6lbs) has came out of Taneycomo...
  17. Dave... Thats looks like a great selection of flies.. If your going to do some winter fishing... add color... something white or light gray... Next.. sowbugs... and eggs... the rainbow spawn is about to start... Leonard
  18. DC... I cant really give in detail where to find them.. it would turn out to be a wild goose chase... But.. Lower Lake Taneycomo (where the water is a bit warmer).. the mouths of creeks (and up inside them).. Roark, Turkey, Bull, ect.. Also along the banks.. around the dock.. below highway 65 bridge... Spots Ive seen them... We may have to get together one of these days and run up and the the lake.. so I can point out some good spots... Leonard
  19. eacoffman... Good to meet you too. I tried to catch up to you after going to the dock,to show you that picture... but I was running alittle late and those guy was ready to fish (BTW.. it was clients, just some friends getting together to fish).. I'll post a few picture in the next day or so.. Leonard
  20. DC.. enjoyed putting a face to a name.. Thanks for the chat. sounds like a little slow day on the water, but fun.. Got a few tugs on the line. as for as size I didnt catch any monster either. Well nothing over maybe 12in.. but had fun.. I like watching them come up behide the lures just to see them chasing it.. Tip: If you see alot of fish following you lures, slow down a little. You'll see more takes that away.. Just my opinion.. Leonard
  21. Firefish.. I was there wen and thur night... wen night.. was very slow with 3 units on.. thur night was awesome!! but both night we caught an 18+in brown... so it wasnt all bad how did you do??
  22. I was using these about 2 years ago and got checked..I recieved a ticket. at that time the agent informed me that it was an illegal fly.. the glue is concider a soft plastic, although I see some people still using them. but check with the other agents... like Phil it all depends who it is.
  23. Thursday Nov. 1 I meet up with Dave at 11pm . Again 3 units going so we headed to outlet 1. We got a really slow start and all at once it started to pick up.. Catching them on a black beaded Pine squirrel. it started to get a little chilly so we made a run to the car for a “Special” coffee. We decided to give outlet 2 a go with some scuds . Within the fish few cast he had a fish on.. We spent about an hour there doing well on scuds.. We head back to the car for another warm up (yep.. more coffee).. we retied and went back to 1 after about 30-45 minutes we noticed the water dropping and it was dropping quickly.. they had just shut it down. We then tied on a PMS and proceeded to catch several brown in a row.. and a few bows... we ended the night about 5am or so. Friday Nov 2.. I meet up with Scott around 10pm and we head to KOA.. It took a few casts but then we got into a few fish with a Lead Eye Wooly. Hooking a great number of fish. After a few hours we headed back up top to the Flat below outlet 1 where he got into some more action on an Olive Pine Squirrel (unweighted). 1 of the fish included an AWESOME 17in cut-bow.. What a fish.. the colors of this fish really made it stand out among the rest he caught that night. Leonard
  24. Thanks everyone... Well here is the NEWS for the day.. Momma and Becca Jean is coming home today... Everyone is doing GREAT... Leonard
  25. This is my understanding.. A few days ago Beaver was generating and all of a sudden shut down (about 1 1/2 to an hour before they were suppose to).. That was the night that Table Rock fired up (10/30) so Im thinking something happened over at Beaver and Table Rock is picking up the slack...
