  2. WHAT A DAY.... we got there just before 7am and had alittle time to look around and toss a fly a few times.. then to work we go.... Let me tell you... IT WAS WORK!!! we had somewhere between 85 to 100 people...ages ranging from 8 up to 70+ yr old... church group (thanks) school students (thanks) The City of Neosho provided lunch for everyone... (A big Thanks goes out to those guys!!) They even Jumped into the water with us.. Also a contract company was there to haul of the trash (trees, limbs, and trash).. A thanks to those guys too.. Also need to thnk Walt Phelps (Missouri trout hunters.com) for his and working with us in getting the word out.. Last I heard.. we gathered up 25+ bags of trash.. a muffler (from a car) a hood maybe a part of a door (from a car) a washing machine and a dryer drum hubcaps from cars, plus more.. we got close to maybe a 1 mile (total) of stream done.. It needs alot more work so we are planning another cleanup within a month or 2... I just want to say thanks to EVERYONE who had a part in the clean-up. Phil thanks for letting us use this website to promote the clean-up All-in-ALL a big success, I will post pictures soon... Leonard

  7. Ok guys it been a while.. and the fish got rested ... so.. At about 9pm I meet up with fly2fish (I think)... yes the storm was all around so we stayed close to the cars for awhile.. Fished around chute 2 and caught a few fish each then decide it didnt seem that it was going to get that close. So we headed to the guanlet.. well to make a good report short... we caught maybe between 20-25 fish.... on a black pine squirrel.. we ended the night about 1am Leonard
  8. I havent heard of walleye caught since late Feb. when they were generating water hard (4 units all day).. and it was the start of the shad kill... Caught between chute 1 and the cable... But to "rephase" your question a little Is there walleyes in Taneycomo... YES!!! but finding them would be the trick Ive even caught one up by the dam before.. Leonard
  9. Don.. Darn... sorry.. I thought Terry was you.. I think he introduced himself as Don... I thought the voice sounded a little high pitched.. but I thought you may have gotten a cold..
  10. Dad and I got to to Mt. Home around 10:30 on Friday... Well we wanted to try to find Patricks on the White.. after that we headed to the sowbug..So I could start tying.. Friday After tying we head to Roundhouse Shoals.. Nothing.. we decided to head Back over to Patricks to fish there.. Had several hard stikes but no hook up.. Friday night: WE tried to fish at night but they had the generators on.. so we decided to sleep.. Saturday..5am Headed to cotter to fish Roundhouse again catching 2 fish (1 each).. went to the shoals and tried there caught about 7 fish.. Pine squirrel (black) where we headed to the sowbugh about 10:30 so I could look around alittle... I started tying about 12:30 and by 1:30 I was all out of pine squirrel.. (I grabbed the wrong skins when I left the house.. (Thanks Jeremy for the help!) well we left the bug about 3:30pm.. headed to the water.. went to Roundhouse again (My dad likes to fish there)..fished for about hour and a half caught maybe 3-4 fish total.. well we decides to head back to Patricks.. Almost there we decided to drive down through the RV park (State Park).. Well afater seeing the water I had to fish it... I hit the water and 2 second cast.. FISH ON.. from there on the rest of the evening total maybe 25-30 fish.. All on the pine squirrel.. well we decided to leave to eat BBQ and Seahorses.. Returning to the Water about 11pm dad caught 1 and I had a few stikes.. only stayed for about an hour.. Returned Sunday Morning (same spot) We got the about 6am and we were the only 2 in that area till about 8am.. we caught maybe 30-40 fish on bllack and olive pine squirrels.. it didnt matter if there were beaded, cones, or even unweighted.. if we went 10 cast with them hit a color.. we'd switch to the other.. and we were back on them. It was another fun weekend at the sowbug with my Dad.. tying was a Blast.. and seeing dad out there fishing was the best of of all.. Leonard
  11. LOL.... Yeah... I can see why you wont come as Terry... You'll have everyone laughing instead of tying
  12. Webfreeman... Yes that would work.. But instead of the hackle.. Wait a day or 2 and someone may post a picture of that fly.. I sent them out in the fly swap.. I use hook, thread, pine squirrel, and superglue... I tye in the tail.. wind the thread forward.. superglue the hook shank.. and wrap the squirrel forward tye off and ... done.. This is the pattern I'll be tying at the sowbug.. Unless Terry gets to close.. then I tye a scud Leonard
  13. To some degree... Fishing sculpin at night is alot different... I perfer to sight fish with them during the day.. as far as after the water drops I like to use unweighted streamers.. Leonard
  14. John's Boss.. "Sure John take what you need and have a good time." The next day.. "John 3 people quit last night and we need you to run the store. The wife and I are going to NYC for the weekend. Its her sisters ol'mans aunts birthday." LOL>>LOL>>>LOL>>>LOL
  15. Davy.. I have fished that stream alot... There has always been fish (trout) somewhere in it.. mid-winter od dead of summer.. yes they dont stock it much in the summer.. but there are still fish in it there are some deep holes that always has a fish or 2 in it... go there on a late july afternoon.. fish are everwhere midging.. Leonard
  16. BigD... I have the same thing.. Id say that would work good for sculpins.. Id also suggest maybe getting a 3x leader.. breaking about 3 foot off and add 6lb line ... (this is how I fish my sculpins) Personal preference ... when I day fishing.. I like to keep my leader/tippet about 7-8 feet.. it make for easier cast.. Although some may disagree.. I find this the most effective for me Leonard
  17. Im ready... I even tell you what... I'll be night fishing the White Friday and saturday night.. just to get some practice in...LOL.. Im going to be at the Sowbug all weekend... As for as night fishing on Sunday night.. not sure. depends on the Boss Leonard

  19. So Mrs.Ducky... If im reading this right... "you'll" be the one stripping on the bank... while us guys are fishing... NOW THATS A DAY OF FISHING I WOULDNT MISS.... Instead of seahorses... I'll bring dollar bills Remember.. thats a quote from you...

  23. since your in KC.. You can probably get it from Cabalas... or you can send me your address and I'll send you a pattern and a few squirrel strips.. or call Phil and order a whole hide.. For the tying part... I mostly use mine unweighted.. start thread and wind to an eye lenght before the bend tye in the tail and wrap thread to the eye... line the shank with superglue.. and quickly wrap the strip to the eye of the hook.. tye off and your done NOTE: Dont get the hair in the superglue.. Good luck.. Leonard
  24. BigD... when you get down here.. give me a shout... I love sight fishing sculpins... This may help.. out of all the patterns to tye this one is easy... this one works good in light olive, ginger, gray, or even a barred color.. http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=327 Hope this helps.. Leonard
  25. Thats not because of my PSCS... But I bet it could work for carp I think they either liked you... or you bought the wrong whistle again... Terry.. you'll never find that 'Big Fish" whistle.. I had it specially made out of white maple-cedar thorn tree that I found in a crop of bamboo... I almost got a boo stick to.. but I thought the tree would have been a beter choice.. Leonard
