  1. I am about to bite the bullet and buy a mega 110 suspending jerk bait. I can only buy one at this time and I will be fishing there in the beginning of march. Anyone have any suggestions as to what color or model I should buy?

  3. Wow, that's a beauty smallie! Sounds like a pretty good day to me. Great report, were you catching anything in the coves or was it all main lake points?
  4. Wow, thanks. That's some good info, I really appreciate it. My dad and I are normally pond and river fisherman, so we are used to catching fish, but last year I joined a bass club and fished my first tournament ever, it was at stockton. As a non boater I am at the mercy of my partner, I decided this year to come to stockton with my dad and see what it was like to have a little more control over my fishing day. There is nothing better than fishing a new lake with my dad and trying to "figure them out" whatever that really means! Thanks for all the input, goodness knows I need it!
  5. Thanks for the advice. I have followed this site for over a year and am impressed with a lot of what I read on here. I am a novice for sure when it comes to lake fishing so I appreciate any help I can get. I want to make sure dad catches some fish!
  6. Going down next week to fish with my dad, starting Thursday morning. I've only been to stockton once and never been the boater. We are targeting bass and putting in at orleans, any general advice? Do I need to go south for bass, like sons creek or is there anywhere up north that's any good? We love catching largemouth and smallmouth. Catch and release only. Any advice would ge great!

  9. Thanks for all the help guys! We unfortunately never got into the whites this trip, at least not like last year. We ended up catching 8 total, the good news is we accidentally caught a bunch of walleye right off the dam on saturday night, really nice ones, we caught a total of 8 keepers my biggest was 25 inches. The funny thing is i caught them all off of swimbait fishing for bass, I also had 2 striper on and lost both of them. Still a great trip, just wish we had run into the whites and that i would have landed those striper. There is always next year! Thanks again!
  10. Thanks guys! i appreciate the info. I have been wondering if there is any action on the main lake, we are staying in a cabin on the big clifty arm, same place we stayed last year. Last year we went a week later and found the cove we were staying on was full of feeding whites, any chance we might have the same luck this year?
  11. Hey guys, i am coming down to beaver this weekend and was wondering if the whites were heating up yet? If so, where have they been active? I only get to come to beaver once a year but i absolutely love the place! Thanks for the help.
  12. Fishing was definitely challenging yesterday, with the wind like it was. We put in at roark about 10 am fishing some coves, caught a keeper black on a jig in about 12ft of water. Ended up catching 15 LM total, 3or4 keepers. The most effective pattern was the back side of steep rocky points, using a rattlin rogue in about 10 to 15 ft of water. We caught all but 3 fish using this method. This was my first time on stockton lake, beautiful lake, just a little windy! Hope this helps someone.
  13. Hello all. I have been reading this forum for about 6 months and have learned a bunch. I am a newby, never fished stockton and never fished in a bass tournament before, i will be doing both this April. Any advice on where to catch keeper bass on stockton? It seems quantity is not a problem on stockton but I have not read too much about bigger bass on this lake. Any comments or help would be great. Thanks
