Thanks for the report FT, me and a few buddies are planning to go down and try to catch some crappie this weekend. Hopefully i'll have a good report to give when we get back. What's the water temp/clarity like right now?
Thanks for the all the advice Bill. You are right about table rock, the white bass there are well above average size. I can't wait to get down to Grand and chase some whites this year.
I've never been down to grand lake but I have heard good things about the white bass fishing. What is the best time of year to target the whites? I've gone down to table rock the last few years in late march/early april to get in on the white runs there and had some decent success, but I didn't know whether spring or fall would be my best bet to fish for them at grand.
Went down to LOZ this past weekend and absolutely slayed the crappie...We caught some suspended in 20 ft of water and others shallow. One of the best spots we found was in 3-6 ft of water. It seemed like about half of the fish we caught were still full of eggs, so the spawn's not over quite yet.
Sounds good, I'm heading down there this weekend to do some crappie/bass fishing...Can anyone tell me what the water temp/clarity is like up the Gravois Arm?
In my past experience the water clarity in this part of the lake seems to remain pretty good regardless. A good number of fish should be shallow and willing to bite.
I used the flouroclear for a while, it's decent i guess but i'm much more impressed with Berkeley Vanish or 100% Flouro...I usually use vanish since it's cheaper.
Glad to hear the crappie are still going strong...unfortunately I won't make it down there for another 2 or 3 weeks, but I imagine we'll still be able to find a few papermouths when we do finally make it back down.
Any recent updates on the water temp or water clarity at Mozingo?...I'm planning on heading up there for the first time this year if the weather forecast holds up.
Thanks
