  1. Here is the gentleman that did my Musky mount for me. Great job and nice fellow. It took several months but well worth it. http://www.fittantereplicas.com/bass.shtml
  2. My review of the rod and reel I won at the Easter Seals Contest that was donated by Pure Fishing. Thank You
  3. We passed these guys pulling this boat out of the woods and then here they come past the gas station we stopped at. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP0iOouoOec
  4. I often see people testing rods in the sporting goods isles. There are some things you can look for.
  5. Great catch. It was worth getting muddy for.
  6. Dad always told me if I was going to kill something I had to eat it. Always lived by that rule.
  7. I have used this for over 20 years and it works great.
  8. I have found if the line is cut close the fish will dissolve the hook most of the time.
  9. While Bass fishing I snagged into this small snapper. It almost got me and I wanted to lift it into the boat but my wife reminded me how much they smell. We remembered our brother in law showing his V-shaped 3" black and blue bruise on his back from a 12 pound snapper he caught turtle trapping. He had it slung over his back and it bit right through the gunny sack. This was just a little guy but it coulda put some hurt on me if he got a finger.
  10. Wild Turkey Hen eats a worm in regular speed, slow motion and still pics. Also a Tom Turkey videod at 200 yards struts and displays.
  11. Electric fish barrier is the answer to invasive Silver Carp and BigHead Carp. Do you have any electric fish barriers in your area?
  12. Breakaway boat trailer tongue works great.
  13. Boat loading made easy for me so I don't have to get out. Not saying this is the safest way but it keeps me out from between the truck and trailer and the dock.
  14. Do you have problems with boaters drinking? I wasn't interested in going fishing with him out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNKcYUPbZlw
  15. Here are some basic knots that will help you get started.
  16. This was me about half the time in Florida this winter. I also wear the Balaclava during the heat of the day when I am out for a week vacation. If you are on an antibiotic such as Doxiclene, this is a must. Once I burned so bad my bottom lip was split for a week. What's that tell you about me. ( I don't tan anymore, Just Burn unfortunately. The Balaclava's are cooler than you might thing and can be bought plain, camo or with fish lures on them from most sporting goods. The good ones have an air vent/flap in the back like the better fishing shirts. If you want some really cool ones check out West Marine on line.
  17. Everyone likes to see big fish. Does your Conservation Dept. have stocking programs? Muskies in holding tanks waiting to be stripped. They are caught in nets at the same time as Walleye but are not ready as fast.
  18. Walleye egg collection (stripping) and tagging. Fish stocking program is very effective.
  19. They could have been spawning. Especially if you could see them. Put a little jig in their bed and they'll carry it out and drop it. Just get em before they drop it. I do that with Crappie all the time. If they won't take the jig just put a tiny piece of crawler on it.
  20. It looks like an Eagle or Ospry platform someone built to try to get them to nest. I have seen many but not built quite like that.
  21. I'd throw that stuff away. It may give you the Lumpuckaroo!!! I'd do the milk or buttermilk trick for a day on what I needed and start over the next day.
  22. If you are ever in Savannah check out the Wildlife Area for some big Gators.
  23. Wing Dam Danger: Learn how to read water. Sometimes the surface changes are easy to see and other times less so. If in doubt slow down and use your depth finder until you are familiar with the area.
  24. I want to remind everyone about the dangers of low head dams. One fellow told me he calls them the Washing Machine. That is a good descriiption. Good tip for staying safe on the water.
  25. Hi Everyone, WillCFish here, I wanted to post info on a children's book that I think will interest those of you who have fishing kids in your lives. GONE FISHING by Tamera Will Wissinger is a new fishing adventure story for kids age six and up told through a series of poems. It’s about a nine-year-old boy who is excited about his fishing trip with his dad and it includes the challenges and thrill of fishing for the big one. Tamera is my daughter and some of the poems in her book were inspired by fishing trips that my wife and I took with our kids when they were young. I’ve had the chance to read an advanced copy and it will spark the interest in fishing for children as well as give them a better understanding of Poetry. Publishers Weekly and the Junior Library Guild have already given GONE FISHING their endorsement, too. GONE FISHING is available for pre-order now, and will release on March 5. Here's a link to Houghton Mifflin's ordering info: http://www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com/hmh/site/hmhbooks/bookRetail?isbn=9780547820118
