  1. I was stationed at Minot AFB in the 70's. Didn't fish Devils lake but caught lots of nice northerns and walleyes close to Minot. Stay away from that place in the winter! Good golly it's cold!
  2. I have motion activated lights. Dogs, and 9mm.
  3. Picked up some of that beer in West Palm Beach earlier this year. Very good!
  4. Yep thanks a lot I appreciate it.
  5. Put in Saturday at Masters and went into the cove by the swimming area to get out of the wind. I used to go all the way back past the fishing dock for crappie but the buoys back there say no boats. I saw two boats in there but I stayed out because I didn't want chance a ticket. Did I misunderstand or were those boats in violation. Or, maybe the wind blew the buoys away from the beach where boats aren't allowed. At any rate, they were in the path to the access to the back of the cove.
  6. Did all that. Talked to motorola on the phone and we went through that.
  7. I'm using a wireless modem. I have an iPad and an HP desktop computer can't get to the website with either of those. I've tried everything you guys are talking about
  8. called Motorola for help on this and they told me to get hold of the OA website itself because there was nothing showing on my modem. Went to Best Buy and asked The Geek Squad and they didn't know. One interesting point though is this happened right after I sent a private message to somebody on Ozark Anglers. The message was in no way derogatory or anything but it seems a strange coincidence. I did a pin reset on the modem and it had no effect.
  9. My motorola surfboard router SBG6580 threw up a firewall and I can't access any Ozark Angler forums. I don't have problems accessing other websites. though. When it comes to router settings I am clueless. I did contact Phil Lilley and he said to ask some of you guys. For the life of me I an't figure out what caused this. I am open to any ideas some of you may have. I am using my phone now.
  10. Yesterday I was the tree magnet. Last year fishing in Florida my guide was the fish hear everything guy. Great video!
  11. These were caught unexpectedly while crappie fishing. When I target carp I sight fish for them in shallow, clear water. The fly was a black chenille body with chartreuse marabou tail 80th oz jig under a small float.
  12. Fished little sac arm for crappie today. This is what I get when I crappie fish with a flyrod. Caught a few crappie too, but these guys put up one heck of a fight. Fun day on the water, got to meet Jason. He's a top knotch crappie fisherman.
  13. When you troll the flats how deep are you when bumping the bottom? And, are you doing this with your lead core line. I'm obviously not a sophisticated troller. The areas I troll are usually 18 to 30 feet and during a certain window of time in the Spring. Your input makes sense though. Do you do this all summer? I apologize if you have to rehash on this because of prior posts.
  14. I was trolling at the slowest speed on my 60 hp merc 4 stroke, which I don't have an exact mph but it's slow yet fast enough to get the crankbait deep enough. Last year I found an area by the dam that was stacked with walleyes, mostly 14 inchers, but some keepers too. I mean they were thick suspended in 30 feet probably half way down. They stayed there for a month or so before disapearing. My wife and I sometimes caught them on every pass. Lots of shorts but steady action with the possibility of big crappie to either side of them. Lots of fun. Watch the guys trolling, where they are. They are there for a reason usually. I've learned more by watching others than on my own. I don't get too technical, lol, more so a creature of habit along with trial and error. There are lots of areas like that around the lake that produce like that when the trolling bite is on. It's a good way to relax, eat cheese and summer sausage, maybe one cold one, and take in the sights.
  15. I use the purple a lot with success in May. Can't argue with the chartreuse either. Plain shad color will get the job done too. i don't think you can go wrong with those two colors. Last Spring we couldn't keep the walleyes off of them while trolling. They weren't big, but it was action packed and fun.
  16. First fish in photo caught below Powersite Dam 18 1/2 inches. Next fish, with gentleman holding, was caught on the Little Sac between 215 and Taylor Bridge. I know what you're thinking, not a White Bass but a Hybrid right? I was there when he caught it 20 years ago. Has anybody heard of Hybrids being in there? I've caught a bunch of whites out of there, but never a Hybrid. Interesting. I thought he had a huge Walleye on until we saw it. That fish fought long and hard!
  17. Thank you Flysmallie, my wife will really appreciate that. We just lost him to cancer a few weeks ago. He will be dearly missed. A very kind man who lived in Ohio.
  18. You do need a little wind on Stockton though or fishing can be really tough, and fish the banks and points where the wind is blowing into them. Use a spinnerbait and you will be rewarded many times. My late father in law had a little cliche, "If you you ain't spinnin' you ain't winnin'.
  19. Very nice breading on those fillets. It all looks great!
  20. How true. ?
  21. I almost came up this week but decided to wait for some water movement. By the time I get up there the walleyes may be done. Had a good rain today in Springfield. Looking forward to tangling with a hybrid.
  22. Here comes that warm rain. Should be on fire. Tight lines!
  23. Here a couple pics, not from this year obviously. On Stockton.
  24. White bass, new potatoes, green beans, and corn bread! Life is good! We are blessed! The bounty of Spring is upon us.
  25. You'll take me? Didn't get that, sorry. It's all good. Good luck on your next outing this Spring.
