yes meet at 6am and take off at 630 and come back in before or at 1230 the latest.
I know there are more people on the FOrum than just us 4 or 5, ALL Boaters Are welcome to join our gathering this sunday.
we r heading in at 1230 but either ways its going to be a mess at the ramp with people coming and going, someone suggested 1030 becuz of heat and traffic..
Im just sending out a reminder about Sunday July 1st fishing gathering at 6am at cedar ridge. then when we come in at 1230 we will weigh our catch of 7 crappie and 5 bass then we will have a CHicken BBQ with all the sides.
HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE. ITS going to be a hott and Busy weekend so lets all remember to stay safe and enjoy ourselves.
DOnt forget to stay hydrated and to use sunscreen.
If your a OAF memeber and dont intend to fish the gathering all is welcome to come for the food.
Went back out to same area and caught a few more crappie this trip made for a long day though the average size was around 11.5 in. the biggest crappie that was taking this trip was 14.25in also landed a nice 4.5ft gar
SOunds GOod man, A buddy and i have been hitting Pomme not limiting out but still catching some impressive crappie Been trolling crankbaits in 25 fow biggest Crappie was 14 1/4in Biggest fish caught was a 4.5ft gar.
Still noticed most crappie we caught the last 2 trips were still filled with eggs. The average size was 11.5in
I suggest trolling crankbaits over brush in 25 fow. or trolling on main lake points. For walleye use bottom bouncers along main lake points with crawlers.
trolling like this will catch u various fish.
Hope this helps
Ok after we are done with fishing we will be having a cook out. The wives and kids are encouraged to attend the Cook out. We will have the weigh-in before we begin to eat.
We need people to volunteer to bring side dishes. THe main meat course is provided Also already have the sodas being brought by a member.
Please let me know so we dont have a bunch of duplicate items. We still need paper goods: Ex. plates, napkins and utensils.
As of now I would prepare for max. of 20 to 25 people.
i use corn meal and creale seasoning deep frying, Also try seasoning the fillet without breading and sauteeing/cooking them in oil. or u can season them with or without breading and baking them in the oven we do that with crappie sometimes to eat without the grease.
hope this helps

We Were trolling over brush with crankbaits in 25 fow. Majority of crappie were 11.5" with a few just over the min. to keep. We had also caught few shorts thru out the day as well.
NWTF I will be more than happy to show u where to troll.
A buddy and i were on Pomme this weekend and caught 9 crappie and 1 bass trolling it was a long process but we at least caught some fish we had alot of shorts caught as well.
Just A reminder, I would like to know who will be attending this gathering At cedar ridge on July 1st for the ones that havent told me yet. The deadline is this saturday so I can get a count for the food ideas thanks.
Greatly appreciated!!!

Exactly Zarras THIS IS NOT A TOURNAMENT
We are just a forum gathering of guys wanting to fish and put faces with names.
That is why we deicded to meet in the cove around the swimmin area to be away from the launch ramp..
THank you Zarra being the first for letting me know by the deadline date. YOur bro is more than welcome to fish with u if you both decide.
I already know of at least 3 others that are planning on attending.
I never said this was a tournament i Stated a Fishing Gathering of OAF members. All this was intentionally set for was THe guys of the Forum to meet and fish together.
Like Justin said we cant make everyone happy and with the turnouts that we had at the meetings this is what has been decided with a few members that are interested and have kept in contact with each other.
THe only Rules WE Had were 7 crappie and 5 bass at weigh in.
I never once spoke of pots or side pots, Justin and i had agreed on bragging rights only.
I also got the interest of the Forum Administrator and he was willing to let us borrow scales and placing board and we like the idea of having a lil cook out for everyone. If this bothers you then its ur choice to either participate or not in this OAF gathering.
When i did speak about a tournament we would need a min. of 8 to 10 boats but that doesnt seem like its going to happen at all.
I think each boat should provide there own bags they are fairly inexpensive. I myself might pick up a couple packs of the 1time use bags and have them available for the ones that dont.
Yes we have scales and a placing board coming.
wtr dogs we thought about the busyness of the lake that why we decided an early start time so hopefully we can be getting off the lake as it gets busier
NWTF you can keep 15 but i think we decided on 7 crappie at weigh in and 5 bass.
Again im at a point i know everyones talking but please let me know if you will be attending so we can get a a realistic number of attendees. no later than Sat. june 16.
Mr. Lilley is Supplying the Scales and placing board that we will will use for this gathering
We Will have a cook out afterward attendees are asked to bring sides or desserts or non alcoholic drinks. So i need a for sure # of people count by the deadline Sat June 16th to cover the amount of meat we will need.
We will fish from 630am to 1230pm.
We are fishing for crappie and bass.
We will launch boats and meet over in the cove by the swimming beach at or around 6 am and take off will be 630am.
As Justin stated i would like to know all who are interested by no later than Sat. June 16th so if i need to pair people i can give ample times for them to fish together before hand.
Anyone that wants to fish is welcome to join us on Sunday July 1st we will be meeting at 6AM at Cedar Ridge. If interested let me know so i can make a note of all that can attend, boater and non boater. If boaters have pairs they are welcome to attend as well.
