Hello,
First time poster here. I'll be visiting the trout park for the second time. The first time (last summer) I just used my spinning outfit and some salmon eggs and we caught a ton of 10 inchers.
Anyhow, I'm not in a rush this time and I'll be fishing by myself so I brought along my fly gear. I haven't decided if I want to do the fly area at the park of if I want to hike down to the blue ribbon water. What do you recommend?
Also, I need to tie up some flies. So, assuming the water goes down a bit (and it looks like it will according to the forecast), what fly patterns should I use at this time of year? It's probably still a bit cool for terrestrial patterns, right? I've done some research and it looks like this is what I'll go with (along with my boxes full of other random flies):
Mohair Leech (Size 10, Olive)
Crackleback (Size 16, Sulphur or PMD)
Elk Hair Caddis (Size 18)
Bead Head Wooly Buggers (Size 8, Black, Olive, and Brown)
Bead Head Hare’s Ear Nymph (Size 16)
Weighted Pheasant Tails (Size 16)
Prince Nymphs (Size 16)
Glo Bugs (size ????)
Scuds (size ????, gray, flashback)
Trico patterns (size 20-24)
Griffiths Gnats (size 22)
Adams
Do you guys think I'm missing anything?
Thank you in advance!
