  1. So the fishing should be better below rebar? The other night I was out with some buddies, the four of us caught 6 fish 2 of which were a crappie and a sucker, and all our fishing was above the rebar hole. Were there about 3 hours.
  2. Heading down in July, where are some places that I can get some wading access?
  3. Ya i mean TR, a guy from big cedar caught a 7lber
  4. Was wondering if the rainbows in the lake were stocked directly in the lake, or came from the beaver tail-water and roaring river?
  5. what is a conservation topic, or something happening right here in our own backyard that needs someone to stand up and lead the way to do something for. Something that needs fundraising to help out someway right here in the Branson area? I see a lot of things online, fundraisers and what not for the salmon and steelhead runs out west, but what is something that we can do locally to benefit our area?
  6. I was using a black/red hibernator and tangled up my line on my rod, so i untangled it and threw it in the water about 4 feet away, i gathered my line and went to cast and as i picked it up out of the water out came a rainbow after it.
  7. Hibernator with legs
  8. Assuming you guys are all correct, which i don't doubt, how long until we started seeing fish like those again?
  9. Just wanted to say Happy Halloween to y'all! Hope you like my spin on my jack o lantern.
  10. I'm in! The ball and chain makes a good dessert, "cake balls" ill bring them, I can also bring something else if needed.
  11. Water was being generated as we hit the water. we fished the quicker current with scuds and nymphs. We were at first having trouble really hooking them, the fly just popping out, until they started to feed heavier. While trying to revive a fish i tripped (which seems to happen every night) i took a swim. I went and changed and when i returned my brother was landing a 20 inch brown. Today is his bday and about 3 minutes after midnight he caught a 21 inch rainbow, thought God blessed him with a nice gift. .Tight lines!
  12. I saw three other guys while i was down there, ya i try to stay home on friday and saturday nights.
  13. Hit the water about 11pm and was throwing a jig headed egg pattern in a peach color. It was flat out hot fishing for awhile. The water was kinda shallow so i had my indicator above the egg about ten inches using 6lb tippet. Caught numerous fish in the 20 inch range. One egg was ruined from getting tore up!
  14. I was asleep and my brother sent me a text, "I just saw the biggest fish caught!" he helped the gentlemen land it and what not, ended up being 15lbs 5 ounces, weighed while in the net, and released. Just wondering if the angler was an OAF user, and wanted to say CONGRATS on a great fish!
  15. I want your job!
  16. After talking with a very nice gentleman from Bentonville i hit the water about 11pm and started throwing an olive hibernator but having no luck i went to a black H2o and again constant nothing so i went to a light brown PMS with gray. BAM BAM BAM BAM! I lost one of the best fish of the night off of that which i felt was about 5 pounds or more. When the fishing slowed i went to olive PMS. great fishing with that also. After it slowed i tried gray scud without much action. I then went to prince nymphs and a much larger dark version of it. Very small fast strips probably an inch long were picking up fish. I then went back to a gray scud to finish the morning raking in fish. I was using 6lb tippet. Also saw a nice catfish up by outlet two, around that area is where i did most of my fishing. Finally left at 5 after 6 hours of great fishing. Wish i would have stayed longer!
  17. I love the detail of your sculpin!
  18. Big dark streamers are working well for me, i have not caught a lot of browns yet but as you will see they are definitely around. I really only go at night now and i just fish from outlet one to three, a lot of guys go farther down but im sorta new to this night thing. They usually are generating water at night but lately have been shutting it off in the middle of the night. If they are generating water, you dont have to wade very far out, the fish are holding pretty shallow and when the water is on i like to pitch my fly into the current and strip it into the shallows where they are holding. Tight Lines!
  19. What time do you night fisherman get to the water?
  20. I've been doing a lot of fishing at night, and have been seeing many large browns below the darn now.
  21. I caught two nice bows just short of 20 inches tonight at about quarter to ten. The bite really dropped off after that. although there was a lot of surface action.
  22. Got to the water at about nine thirty catching two rainbows about two casts apart on a red hibernator. they were 18 and 19 inches, then i foul hooked a smaller fish. The bite soon dropped off and i spent quite a lot of time with out any action then i lost two fish and reeled in two small bows. I worked what current there was stripping it through and then into the still waters of the shallows. The two nice bows hit it in the current.
  23. got to the water about ten after eleven started with a purple hibernator in swift water, caught one fish, then switched to various colors only foul hooking two fish. I then went to a black hibernator and was casting it into swift current but then stripping it into the shallows where i caught a very hefty 20 1/2 inch bow. He was obese. caught another that way but not of that size. You really really do not have to wade deep, the fish are holding shallow. fished until 2:20 caught the nice rainbow at 2. tight lines!
  24. fly fishing taneycomo and just wondering what size pound test i should be using as tippet for nighttime fly fishing
