We boated up to the cable and drifted with white rooster tails, just letting them get pulled with the current as we floated. We had fish on fairly consistently and doubled up on two drifts. I caught a sweet 18 incher that puked up half a dozen minnows when he got to the boat. I felt the bite was better the closer we were to the dam.
Maybe we should make a post on upper Taney and white river to get people's attention. I never even knew this section of the forum existed until last week.
Phil- id have to say 3 bows to each brown. I thought the browns were in much better physical shape than the rainbows, not having torn up mouths from being caught. Also about half the rainbows were cookie cutters.
Fished from 10:30 last night till 8:00 Thanksgiving morning. Generation was to be 0 units until about 4:00 in the morning, but the horn sounded at 11:15pm. This was fine, I had just purchased an over abundance of glow sticks. Same old same old, scuds and eggs. Between the 3 of us we netted over 100 fish, largest in the upper teens to 20 inches.
Wrath- i have been night fishing atleast three nights a week and it has been very slow. There are a lot of fish around however and i have seen a couple 8+lb fish around. It has just been very hit or miss it seems. I think if i were you i may wait another week or so since you dont live real close But then again i could be wrong.
I have been going a couple nights a week for the past few weeks and it just seems like things have been fairly slow just wondering if anyone else has done good? I remember this time last year we were catching quite a few. Everyone I talk to at night says the same. Seems like lots of fish have moved up and saw a 10+lber in the ladder last night.
Looking for cheap lodging next friday, half hour max from patrick bridge access. Not looking for camp grounds. My brother and I are big boys and we need air conditioning!
It was equally as slow for us last night, we started at #2 then worked down to big hole, and then walked our way up to the flats. Very slow, my brother had the most out of us with 4, and my buddy only had 1 which was a white bass.fished from about 9:30 to 1:45.
I was watching a fishing program and they were fishing out west somewhere. The guys boated a rainbow and the guy said, "see the white tips on the fins, that means he is a wild fish not a hatchery raised fish," so I was wondering if any of you old timers knew if this was true or not.
