  1. First off I just want to say thankyou to everyone who gave me some awsome insight for my first trip to stockton. It was spot on. We won today with 12.8. And big bass of 3.8 I lost another equally as big but limited out still. Caught the big one at 1:30 today with 30 minutes left. We caught a ton of fish. Yesterday afternoon was great too. Caught some really nice bass Friday while searching and fishing around. So here's what I found out this weekend. We fished sons creek all weekend. Bass had moved out of of the flooded small brush with the running of water. That heads up had me move back and concentrate on the big wood in front of the flooded brush. Bite was slower but the bigger fish we caught we all on some type of shallow wood. We only had a few shorts on the brush alone. However we did see some bass chasing up baitfish in the shallows on windswept banks where the murkier water allowed for some ambush I guess. Brushhogs and and craw type baits seems to be the key. Thanks again everyone. I tried to call you Bob but AT&T left me with no reception. Stockton Lake was amazing and was everything people had been saying. Will def be back. Oh and on Friday we hit a main lake windswept bank where the waves had muddied up the water and thought we'd see if we could catch a bass crusing to catch something that had washed loose. We saw a few fish chasing that didn't look like bass. They were big blues. Didn't have a scale but I hooked one flipping with a craw that was around 15lbs! Tried to upload a pic but can't from my phone. Will try to do when I get home. Have a great rest of the weekend!!
  2. Nice job!! That's awsome. How deep were ya do u thank?
  3. Thanks for the info. I had no idea they were dropping the lake that much. You guys are great. How can I get ahold of your guide service. I would def make it a point to schedule a trip with you. We are letting out by the dam. Might be a little bit of a run from there to sons creek. I'm coming down Friday to get acclamated a little. If u see a maroon triton 186 with a 150 merc wave! It'll probably be me.
  4. So I'm making my first trip to Stockton this weekend for a small club tournament and in doing my map homework and Internet work i'm looking at the sons creek arm. Am I headed in the right direction? Or is any arm better to start on? Just trying to get as much info as possible. Seems like there's a lot of wood up there from the map. Greaser creek looks interesting up there as well. Anyways good luck on the water and thanks as always in advance!
  5. Hey fellas! Was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to stay at Stockton? My dad and I are coming there next weekend. I remember seein something on an older post about a place and If your a member to the forum u get a discount? I could be way off as I couldn't fins that post. Anyways good luck on the water and thanks in advance! First time to Stockton and looking forward to it!
  6. Thanks for the hellos! I'll def start there. I love fishing new lakes. Always a fun challenge. I'm gonna try and get down there before the tournament. I get jealous reading about all the good ( and bad ) fishing everybodys been doing! Keep all the news coming I love it! I may not always reply but know I'm reading eery post!
  7. Hello everyone! Love reading all the comments stories and suggestions on here! I'm new to this site and have had a great time trying to catch up on all the feed back! I do have a question though. My bass club has a tournament at stockon in the middle of June. Was wondering if anybody would be so kind as to shed a little light as to what the fish tend to do that time of the year there. I've been researching all my maps and thought it would make more sense if someone could tell me where to maybe begin looking on my map! I've heard stockton is pretty clear and that fishing deep seems to be the thing? Is that so? Anyways any info would be great and I'll be sure to let you know how we do! Thanks on advance! Good luck on the water!!!
  8. We launched out of state park on Saturday for a club tournament and we got into them doing the same thing. Scattered fish but there sure seemed to be a lot of them. We had a 6 fish limit by 9 and we ended up 4th with 13lbs. Everybody we talked too had a limit. We did have our two biggest fish come off naturally. Both around 4lbs. We had a great day though. Used beavers in 3 to 5 foot and wind was key it seemed for the bigger bites! We had a lot of shorts on crankbaits and no spinner bites.
