  1. Must be new models coming out, and I'm not affiliated with BQA in any way, just passing along a good deal. http://www.bluequillangler.com/Products/On-Sale/Lamson-Konic#.UDMPOKmhClI?docookiecheck=T -Bob
  2. I was wondering how many people carry while hiking/fishing, whether here or elsewhere. If you do carry, what do you carry and why? I've been venturing out more and more by myself in MO, as well as going on a trip to RMNP in the fall as well as WY next year, where I'll likely be fishing solo. I've been looking at a Ruger p95 because it's inexpensive and gets good reviews, and I have a few Rugers already and never had any issues. -Bob
  3. "There are so many intoxicated people it's like, ridiculous." like OMG.... SO CRAZY
  4. If you're looking for cheap, Eagle Claw Featherlights come in 6'6 and they're like thirty bucks
  5. Instant beer http://www.outsideonline.com/news-from-the-field/Drink-Beer-Without-the-Bottle-20120813.html ./thread
  6. The wife dropped mine off at the PO today
  7. I'm pretty sure you could dip a hook in glue and roll it in a bowl full of foam and rubber legs bloodsport style and catch bluegill.
  8. Sorry I've been procrastinating on getting to the post office
  9. Not when your bill is multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars and you have an average salary. Look at the kid who got shot in the Aurora shooting and doesn't have insurance. He's racked up supposedly 1M in medical costs since being admitted. What is he going to do? Pay $200 a month for the next 400 years?
  10. People say insurance is too expensive, so they don't get it, they 'gamble', they get sick or something happens to them, the bill is too high for them to pay so they don't, and insurance costs go up. Force everyone to pay into a federal healthcare system, get for-profits out of the equation and force non-payers into it, then watch the costs plummet. This thing is not rocket-surgery. Sure Obamacare isn't anywhere near perfect, but no big legislation is. In my opinion it's at least a stumble in the right direction. Republicans are screwing themselves on this whole deal and even David Frum is intelligent enough to recognize that.
  11. I'm finished as well, can you pm me the address? Thanks, -Bob
  12. Last Saturday on the Little Blue, both on the fly obviously.
  13. Thanks! I have eight done. Technically nine, but I apparently had too many beers and forgot the flashabou on one so I threw that one in my box.
  14. I actually changed what I'm tying to the below, should be able to throw it on a 5 or 6wt which was my goal as a lot of guys aren't throwing 8's. Mustad 3366 sz 2 Marabou Grizzly Saddle Hackle Flashabou Alum Sea Eyes Laser Dub Edit: I finished 3x tonight and will finish the rest after getting more eyes at Rainbow this weekend.
  15. I'll have to remember the donation address, I just sent bags of flies to a PJH in TN.
  16. I wet wade the Blue River just south of Red Bridge pretty frequently. I've caught bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish and seen a lot of carp (both monsterous commons and average sized grass) on the fly. I've tried to fool some carp but they're extremely smart and very wary. I wouldn't recommend kayaking/canoeing this section unless it's following a very substantial rain as you'd be dragging a lot more than paddling.
  17. I got my first casting lesson at Feather-Craft when I was like 13 and the internet didnt even exist. Back then it seemed more like a true 'fly shop', guys hanging out, shooting the bull, like what Hargrove's seems to be now. The last couple times I've been in FC, the actual shop seems to be more of an afterthought. There's basically one guy manning the register just to make sure no one robs the place. Their internet business clearly seems to be their focus, which I totally get, this is the digital age, and whatever a business has to do to stay afloat is good with me. The only real complaint I have is that half the stuff isn't stocked in the shop and you inevitably have to ask them if they have it in the back, which they usually do.
  18. I'd put a lot more thought into your line choice than the rod. The difference line to line is much greater than rod to rod.
  19. This is what I'm planning on sending, still toying with colors. Size 6 b10s Marabou IceWing Fiber Flashabou Laser Yarn Fish Skull (sm)
  20. most of my jaunts are a couple hours long so I use a Rising Flask Pack which I'm pretty in love with. It's pretty water resistant and holds everything I need but is still small and light. Holds a bugger barn and 2 thin boxes which is a big plus.
  21. I've tried Allen fly hooks which claim the same thing. The quality seems decent enough but on Allen's version of the 2457, the bend isn't the same and an unslotted bead won't fit.
  22. I'd be game
