  1. Its not on fire by any means. Went down Tuesday and today. Its coming of the top. In my opinion this is not as good as turbines because there isn't any Shad being cut up and pushed through. No hybrids that I saw. Was trying topwater and sliders. Saw two catfish caught right before dark. 38" and 26". Pretty sure the guy was using the "special" bait because there were three other people fishing next to him using Shad and no bites.

Does anyone know if they have begun their summer patterns? Are they posted up on humps and biting? Also, has anyone been finding any bait? Are they still in coves?
  3. I know the guy. His name is Chris. You would be surprised how many big ones are caught like that up that way. I have personally caught multiple 40 lbers. Don't get me wrong, over sixty is a little more rare, but not unheard of. Still a very nice fish either way.
  4. This was absolutely entertaining! Laughed many times. At the end of the day, we fish for the joy it brings us. There is no right or wrong way as long as it is by the law. Do what you enjoy while you are able. Try not to be so grumpy our judgmental. Thanks for the laughs. Some of you guys are really witty and funny.
  5. We went last night and no luck. Motored up past McCord and didn't find anything "stacked up." the only ones I saw on the graph were down by 76 bridge but didn't hook up. It was a nice night on the water anyhow and the scenery is beautiful down there.
  6. I think the wife and I are headed down for Friday evening. Will be in a tracker deep v. If you see us, feel free to say hi. Love talking fishing with fellow anglers.
  7. It sounds like they are just below McCord?
  8. Went this weekend and struggled. Water temp at dam was 47. They are running alot of water through the turbines and over the flood gates. Not even a bite. Went to the mouth of swan and caught a big sow white bass full of eggs, but that's it. Only caught one small male in beaver. Water temp in swan and beaver creek was 65.Sunday went down to K dock and only caught one 13" crappie. I must be doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Good luck
  9. Can a boat comfortably make it to blunks? I have a deep v and will save gas if I can't get there. Also is anyone still getting them down at cape fair or have they pretty much moved up past the bridge there? Thanks!
  10. I just recently bought my first boat in January. I shopped around but found out that it really depends on you're debt to income ratio and credit score. Lots of lenders advertise low rates, but you will not know what you qualify for until they run your credit. Higher risk = higher rate
  11. Yeah,I think that weighed right around 50 of its the same fish. We were down there chasing them a few times last summer. Smallest was 30, biggest 52.
  12. That's a striper. Not enough depth in the body to be a hybrid that long.
  13. Overlay is the best way to provide a scale of size. Unless it is missing part of its tail, in my opinion, this is not a cougar, but could be a rare bobcat of sorts. More likely feral or a pet. Would love to see overlay to get a sense of scale though. They are making a comeback and have ranges closer than most would think.
  14. Cut crappie is a violation. No game fish or their parts may be used for bait in Mo. Shad is great bait for spring as there is almost always some that die in winter and get blown onto shallow flats and banks. I have had more luck on blue gills in the summer but they will still hit it. Caught a 40 lber in January on a gill head.
  15. They make it up here to Springfield more often than you think. I would not recommend being at the dam opening morning. It is pretty entertaining but not fun to be in the middle of. Think trout parks on opening day, but instead of flies they are violently swinging oversized snagging hooks. It usually thins out a little by 10 depending on how many are trapped in there.
  16. You can also drag a bucket or two to slow you down. That's what we had to do in the gambler bass boat. Had the same troubles with mono too. Braid definitely helps keep it down.
  17. Does this have a built in transducer for a fish finder? Also, is it electric driven and I-pilot compatible?
  18. Yeah, the water really helped concentrate everything. They were all on the front side of the Weir in 20-30fow. Small bait was on top at noon but we were leaving by then.
  19. Tried to post pics but it won't let me. Had one 8 lbs and 6 more at just under 7 lbs with several smaller ones.
  20. Ramp is open and fishing is good at dam area. Caught hybrids and catfish on small grubs and swimming minnow type baits. Water temp was 56. Thanks for the info!
  21. Was wondering if anyone has been lately? Where are you getting Shad? Are they still at the Weir or have they pushed up into the creeks. Am going this afternoon and will let you know what I find. Thanks in advance!
  22. 1999 gambler, 2001 mercury efi 225 HP. New lower unit. New fish finders. $14,900
  23. On what? From the bank? That's a toad!
  24. Isn't a Kentucky bass the same as a spotted bass?
  25. If the blue you are referring to is the one in the above pic, then he its right. You are holding a nice channel catfish. You can tell by the rounded anal fin. Nice fish though either way.
