  1. They will still be running water through the generators though correct? Or will they shut down all flow and begin generating as needed?
  2. Using 1/16th oz crappie jig with plastic minnow body. I caught them after dark as i didn't get to the water until sunset and looked for usable launches.
  3. I took a chance and dragged the boat down. Shadow Rick is indeed under water. If I wanted to push it,I could've found a spot to launch, but didn't get down there until sunset, so played it safe. Fished below the dam off the bank for about 2 hours. Caught three nice whites, a 3 lb brown trout and had something break the hook off my jig head. Was using a 1/16th oz head so not a huge hook shank to break off, but it had size to it. Saw it head shake at surface 10 yards in front of me, but it was after dark and couldn't make out what it was. Who knows, could've been a big drum? It didn't run like a striper. Tied on another jig, snagged some old line, subsequently broke my light weight pole and called it a night. It was still nice to get in a little fishing time either way.
  4. Here anything, or is it safe to assume there is a striper bite with all the running water and bait being pushed over the dam and that's why no one is responding?
  5. Is there any where to launch near Forsyth?
  6. What kind of places were you anchoring? They have been running a lot of water so the cats have moved up, albeit scattered still. It has been hit and miss for me. They have been biting better after dark. You should really try to find fresh shad. It does make a difference. They should be in coves right now. Mud flats, points and mouths of coves were working well for me, but I haven't been in a couple weeks. Good luck!
  7. Has anyone been catching any of the recently stocked stripers? I have been hammering hybrids up on Truman and figured the stripers should be in a fall pattern down there on BS also?
  8. The easiest way is the jaw/lips. The jaw on a largemouth, when closed, will extend beyond/behind it's eye. A spotted bass will not.
  9. Search until you graph fish on the channel ledge, then drop bait down to that depth and drift. You will know if you find them. You should get bit within 20 minutes. If you haven't caught anything in 45 minutes, search for another location.
  10. There will also be some in the mouths of coves and shallow during the day now that it is cooling off.
  11. Fish shallow flats and coves later in the day and channel breaks around 12-20 ft during the day with live and cut shad. Good luck!
  12. A friend of mine rents their lake house on vrbo.com. Just search Forsyth. It is fully furnished and newly renovated. It is located about 200 yards below the dam. You can see powersite from the screened in porch. Water is high right now, but anywhere you can access there by the dam is good. We have caught 50 lb stripers, walleye up to 9 lbs and lots of white bass this year with the water up.
  13. I'm curious. In my experience they aren't up there year round. I catch them enough to satisfy my needs, but from my experience, which is not near as much as most, they are temperamental at best. Even when I am marking them up on the main lake and dangling live shad in front of them, they don't always eat. That being said, I'm always excited and eager to learn. Won't even ask your secrets for free. I would be interested in a guided bank trip if your interested?
  14. None of the smart ones....
  15. Fridays haul, and we left them biting to get back and clean these. For perspective, this a 150 quart cooler.
  16. Mud line at Grand and Osage confluence. It was a lot more distinct in person.
  17. The hybrids aren't. Slayed them on topwater last Friday and Saturday. Water got muddy Sunday and sun came out, so we only caught a few down deep. I would post pics, but don't know how with the mobile version.

    Hybrids

Went Sunday before last. Found some smaller 3 lbers and lost three better ones by dam. They busted top water only two times. Going this Thursday to fish through Sunday. Am going to try and find the better ones in 8-12 lb range. Anyone know if the bait is still in the back of creeks and shallow?
  19. Are the hybrids in the summer pattern? Not trying to get specific spots from you, just trying to get an idea if where to start looking this weekend. Is the water muddy from the rain?
  20. You are right, its fishing not catching. We usually find some, was just curious if anyone had noticed any different patterns than me.

Can a guy launch off the road? If not where could you put in at?
  22. Do you have better luck on the up current or down current side of the humps and points. I don't know that I can tell a difference, but always seem to find myself in front of them and on the up current side.
  23. We got into some hybrids this morning. Had two nice ones come off and one broke off. The others we boated were around 4lbs. Weather was nice though. Wasn't hot at all with the wind.
  24. Those are some great pics! I guess I thought all predatory fish eat anything even their own species at times.
  25. How do carp and gar kill gamefish?
