  1. I will be planning a two week trip this spring to visit my brother and to spend a great deal of this time on the water. My brother has mentioned that MO has passed new regs regarding the wearing of felt soled wading boots in some (?) of your trout streams. Any insight on this new reg? Does this mean that I can't bring my brand new felt soled wading boots with me?
  2. I have fished from a SOT kayak for over 10 years. While our fishing down here is much different (salt marshes/tidal creeks/BTB) I have found that the SOT kayaks are real fishing machines. We equip them with anchor trolly's, FF, livewells. There are several new concepts in fishing kayaks. Many of the new ones (Native) that allow you to stand. Most of the guys who fly fish love the Natives. You might wish to consider the Hobie Revolution or Outback if your fishing big water (lakes). The Mirage drive allows you to peddle rather than paddle. This allows you to be fishing as you move along from one spot to another. It's not uncommon for us to trek 5-8 miles on an outting. If you would like to see how we rig the SOT's you can go to our website at jaxkayakfishing.com. There is a photo gallery that may give you some ideas on how to rig your new kayak.
  3. Will be spending two weeks this spring in the Branson/Forsyth area. Will be visiting my brother who lives in the area. While the primary fishing will be for trout, don't want to miss out on the white bass run if possible.
  4. Planning a trip this spring and would like to know when the white bass run usually occurs?
  5. The avatar reflects my KS/MO upbringing and my living at the beach. Would use Saltwater Cowboy as my user name but one of my FL bud's uses it.
  6. My brother has been telling me about this website for several months. Don't think he is registered (Lurker). While I live on Amelia Island, FL, I do have connections to the Ozark area. Many summer vacations as a child were spent floating the White River before there were things called dams! Additionally I have spent much time in my younger years fishing Roaring River and Bennett Springs for trout. The primary reason I have registered is due to the fact that this spring, I plan on visiting my brother (Powersite) and spending 10 days fly fishing the great streams/rivers that are available. Will be looking for any tips/suggestions to make my trip better. Living in FL, the majority of my time is saltwater fishing from a kayak. Have been involved in this sport for the last ten years. Chasing redfish, trout, flounder and participating in the various kayak fishing tournaments in the SE USA. NE FL winters are mild in comparison to the mid-west. I have found that winter fishing is one of the best times of the year to fish. Right now the trout have moved in and the reds are schooling like crazy. 50 fish days are not uncommon this time of year. Looking forward to spending time on this website.
