Another GReat Day, Report To Come!

Had a great day on the White River today, other than some tough conditions at times (snow, sleet, freezing rain), we had a banner day catching fish. I fished with Ham, whom which I've nicknamed the "Jig Master".. Together we caught well over 100 fish, Ham who kept count of his caught 66 himself. One my second cast of the day, I caught a nice Brown, didn't measure but close to 17 inches probably. Ham about middle way thought they day caught a dandy Brown the hit about 10 foot from the boat, It was around 19 inches! Had a great day fishing with Ham, he was great to teach me some tricks of the zig jig, this guy has this technique mastered, very impressed!! I didn't fair to bad myself, what a day!! Muddy or Hoglaw can tell you more about there float with Phil, but I know they did great, and all I've heard hear at the cabin as we eat Muddy's smoked brisket, is Phil put on a clinic with the jig as well. I watched Phil land 2 fish within a minute when we were close together in the boats! I think they also managed a nice Brown as well!! More pics to come, got several on my phone, (Hams big brown is on there).. I"ll post more when I get a chance and reception. Floating from Buffalo shoals to norfork in the morning!!

Just watched the weather from Ch 8 in Jonesboro, if there model is right, I may not rain much till the evening, hope that's right!!

Ham, I always go with the cap't of the boat sounds fine with me if it is muddy. Not sure what Hoglaw and the fellows are gonna do, but im with him Saturday, i'm game either way! If we do that ham, where and when doyou want us in the morning?

Ham, i'm with ya on the two boats, Looks like with this list two will do, may just leave mine here. Talked to a friend of mine from Hardy, still a few patchy spots. If you guys think otherwise let me know before 4 am tomorrow...lol

Muddys BOat Id Iced In, so Gonna Go Ahead And Bring mine

Hey was wanting to you all of your thoughts on me bringing my boat, i'm going to have to leave really early, and heard there may be a few ice patches still on the road from Hardy to Mt. Home. I think Muddy is bringing his boat to, so if you think we can get by without mine, might leave it, I could make better time getting there tomorrow morning early? I like Phils idea of least boat = more fellowship. Let me know some of you think, I can bring it, but we may not need it. It's a little farther than I thought, 160miles on google, never seemed that far to me, but that was to Buffalo city. Think i'm gonna meet Muddy in Mt. Home tomorrow morning, that way I won't have to go to rileys to drop off fish cooker yet, it like a 40 mile drive to white hole according to google, I can leave it where Muddy is staying then pick it up after we done fishing, it would be to easy to steal, about 400 bucks worth!! If you think we may need it to travel or anything I can bring it, 25jet with a trolling motor... Just let me know.

My only good raingear, is my waders and my duck coat, which works well, guess that's what i'm bringing. I looked at some of those suits from bass pro you got, they proud of them aren't they..lol.

Ok, thanks Cody, wife and kids are still out of school here, the hill roads on Crowleys Ridge and the gravel roads are as bad as they were last week. Hopefully there will be some more melting today on the highways with the sun! I've got most all the phone numbers now, as I approach Mt. Home, i'll holler and try to get a plan for tomorrow!! You guys know a lot more about that part of the river than I do, whatever you think best to get on the action, i'm game!! Don't rush yourself Ham if there is patchy spots, i'll probably take my time, but hope to be there 9ish at rileys, i'll probably leave boat if needed and drop off the fish cooker.

The wife had me out today Al, finishing Christmas shopping...lol. I understand where she's coming from, hope the weather improves up there, would love to meet you!! Guys while out today, did get my fixin's for the fish fry Saturday night, pretty much all set! One thing I didn't get was things like ketchup and tarter sauce, if someone wants to pick some of that up that would be great! Ham and Hoglaw, i'm gonna leave here pretty early, and try to be there by 8.30 or 9 Friday morning, got my cold raingear ready! I"ll holler at you Ham when i'm about half way there Friday morning, and we'll see what we need to do, i'll probably drop my boat of if it isn't needed then at Rileys, and go from there. Talk to ya'll soon!! Bret Quillback and Phil, are ya'll gonna fish together Friday? Didn't know if Phil was still making it early? From what there predicting here for the rain in NE AR, i'm thinking it may move out there sooner and be out before Friday's over, haven't seen the weather today.

Quillback is gonnab be in around noon sounds like. Hopefully Phil and Al will be there to. If you get there Quill and can't find anybody, i'll message you my phone, as the rest of us should do the same, somebody can meet up with ya somewhere. Sure hope you can make it Al, so looking forward to meeting you!! Should be fun!

Ham, i'm planning on leaving pretty early here Friday, hoping to be there by 9am give or take. I'm bringing my boat still, in case we need it. I'm down for Hoglaw on Saturday looks like, so if I get there early Friday would love to sling some jigs with Ham! If we need to get my boat out later to take some guys outs i'll be down with that to!!

I think there will be, i'm taking my camera and gopro!! Guess it was Miles I talked to yesterday, sounds and looks like they've been running 2 units give or take..

Oh yeah, I know right were your talking about, it wasn't to far below that my father in law caught his first nice Brown down that way! It's a shallow spot that doesn't last long then gets deeper again like a lot of that water is around lobo. Jacks Shoal, is further down a few miles, it was recently named after a fellow that has lived on the river along time, he fishes 360 days a year if I remember the story correctly, I met him once on a cold day above Dripping, lives eats and breathes that river. May have to hook up with ya'll sometime when your down there as well, awesome brown trout river!

Ham, that is something I've been thinking about as well. I don't care either way, I did talk to someone at Rileys awhile ago, and they have places my boat could be left there if it's not used. Depending on what we figure out before time, I don't have a problem bringing it, and leaving there if that's the way it turns out If someone had boat issues, might be good to have an ace in the hole. .For safety and better fishing reasons, it might ge good to ride with someone that is knows the river well.. I'd like to be there early Friday, but it will probably be closer to noon, so some of you guys will be fishing already probably. We can exchange some phone numbers before time if someone needs to get in contact while out on the water.

Hoglaw, have you ever fished what they call down there... Jacks Shoal? It's between Lobo and Dripping. Went up there on time in low water and was impressed!

I'm gonna try to pull off getting there pretty early Friday it's looking like! Your speaking my language here!! Be sure to throw in the baitcasters!! Looking forward to the jigging that I like so well, but have been wanting to get in on a jerkbait bite for a long time!! I'm also bringing the flyrod, can never be underprepared..
