  1. Thanks. Going to try and get him out as well.
  2. Well, I am heading back to my home town of Spfld, MO for my Dad's 80th B-day, and figured I'd haul the boat down there and do some fishing, most likely Table Rock - Cape Fair area. I have only fished lakes several times, as I mainly chase trophy blue cat on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. So, my success on lakes is minimal at best. Therefore, any pointers on where I should look on the lake for blue cats? I believe we'll try for crappie as my twin brother doesn't have the patience for catfishing, but I may convince him to give it a try. Or, should I try below Forsythe Dam for Stripers or Walley, or catfish?? I have never fished for Stripers or Walleye, but I guess I could try for catfish below Forsythe dam? Generally speaking how deep is the water below Forsythe Dam? Is there a place to get shad or skipjack below Forsythe Dam for the Stripers or Catfish? I suppose you use minnows for the Walleye? Is it rocky or sandy below the Forsythe Dam? And what type of anchor do you use? Or do you drift? We have to bring my Dad on Saturday in order for the ladies to prep his 80th B-day surprise upon retruning Saturday evening. If anyone is interested in exchanging a few good areas, I would be happy to tell you a few good spots or areas to target if you ever venture up to try fishing for large Blues on the MO or Mississippi. Sorry, this may be a double post, but I previously posted in G D Archives which isn't correct or by mistake.
  3. Yes, the biggest site regarding catfishing is 'catfish1.com', which lists a section based on state. Missouri is one of the most popular, and most visited. Missouri River and Mississippi River is well known for producing trophy blue cats. AND, the Missouri is only going to get better, because commercial fishing has been banned on the Missouri River for approximately 7 - 9 years now.
  4. Hello to all the members. I grew up in the Ozarks (Spfld) but now live in St. Louis. I look forward to reading and contributing on this site. I mainly enjoy fishing for Trophy Catfish on the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers in and around St. Louis. I am just starting to reach out and fish some lakes also. My next trip will be to Truman Dam, or trying for winter catfish below the dam. It will be my first time there, so I hope to etch out a few catches so i am not skunked. Fishing in a lake seems to be a bit different than on a big river. I have heard it is a good area for targeting catfish, so I plan to give it a go!
