  1. I don't know when the next time I'm gonna be down there. It might be awhile, once the season starts I avoid RR like the plague for a while. I ordered some online today though.
  2. I'd also check out the Ross Flystick, 180 bucks with a lifetime warranty...can't beat that.
  3. I just ordered some, was at bass pro this morning and all they had were tiny ones, didn't have time to make it to Backcountry so I looked and found some online.
  4. I would say the only flies you would want to tie smaller than a 20 would be midges or black gnats. I also struggle with tying small dries. I think it's just because I don't do it that often. I used to complain about my fly tying skills overall, and know feel like I am quite good (except little dries), only thing that makes you better is to do it alot.
  5. Good luck...I wouldn't fly fish, standing shoulder to shoulder with a fly rod is never fun.
  6. Where do you get your cylinders from, or do you cut your own?
  7. I just wanted to see what everyone's thoughts on barbs. I have seen both with barb and without being said as the "best", even for catch and release. I think I even read in a magazine not too long at that fishing with a barb is better since you don't have to constantly worry about the hook unhooking/shorter fight better for the fish. I'm not saying one way or the other. Just wanted to see if we can get a decent discussion going.
  8. Where off Division?
  9. No thanks, I'd rather land the fish and point at the mount on the wall while telling the story.
  10. NEed to get this fuzzy foam and go to town...that looks amazing!
  11. Was playing around with some bucktail and this is what I cam up with, Baby Bass, Bleedin Shad, and a Sexy Shad. I've been wanting o tie some shad patterns in the sexy shad colors for a while now, just never have the right colors to do it, thank you Cabela's Bucktail Grab Bag!
  12. Wow, and it only took five of us, I officially like this guy!
  13. http://s1152.photobucket.com/albums/p481/djturner05/?action=view&current=craws3.jpg
  14. I basically just tie a bunny leach with two tails to look like claws, flash for antenna, and sometimes use ribbing to give it a thorax. I tie them weightless, with just lead wrap, and with dumb bell eyes, gives you alot of options.
  15. I'd be willing to drive anywhere from 30 min to an hour.
  16. Either way I'd be for it, I would just have to find a partner with a boat...
  17. I hated my Orvis Battenkill on my little 4wy at first, it was too loud...clipped the click pin...problem solved! I love it now never had a problem...but then again it is my little creek rod...but I have laded a couple of fish over 10 lbs on it.
  18. Not sure if you got it yet or not, I have 2 of the Classic reels and love them. I have a 5wt and a 6wt, both are great reels. I have an Orvis Battenkill on my 4wt, and the classic is every bit as good IMO, never had an issue.
  19. With the new bass rods that are getting so popular now, starting with Sage, then Ross, now BPS has one too, I was curious to see if anyone had actually heard of someone competing(and if they did how did they do) in bass tourneys. I don't fly fish for bass much, but if I were to start doing it more and got good at it...it would be tempting to pair up with some friends of mine and go in on a tourney on the fly. Thoughts?
  20. Yeah I was going for a deceiver look, I've tied several variation of this with a few different trims, we'll see!
  21. About a mile, I hike until you see the posted signs.
  22. realized I didn't put the site DOH! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Colorado-Pontoon-Boat/2584964?findingMethod=rr#rr
  23. I'm looking at getting this one, you'd have to get the trolling motor separately, but it does have the mount, alot of them in this price range don't have the mount.
  24. Saw this a walmart.com and looks like a great deal. Was just curious if anyone had any experience with this one. I am probably going to get it with my tax return this year. The thing I like the most about it is that is has the trolling motor mount, long days on the water can really tire out the arms...
