  1. What you are saying about the stator and the pack for sure makes sense but if they are willing to send me a new pack we will put it on and see what happens. I will definitely let you know where this all ends up.
  2. Also I called CDI tech support this afternoon and went through all the DVA results. He seemed to think that it is the pack. They are sending us out a replacement so guess we will see what happens when it gets here.
  3. The DVA readings on the old one actually checked out but the outer plastic covering was bulged up and cracked. So my buddy said he wanted to replace it.
  4. No water it just has a 6 gallon remote tank that we emptied and mixed new fuel. Mixed because the VRO has been removed. We had all 3 carbs off and tore them completely apart and ran through ulra Sonic carb cleaner they had a lot of crap in the bowl. Set floats and reassembled. Plugs look good no fuel or oil fouling and no signs of water. It has 110 lbs compression on all 3 cylinders. When they took the VRO off they replaced it with a fuel pump only can't remember the part number of it but it's the one I found listed when you delete the VRO. Fuel pump is pumping and hooked vacuum tester to it and the diaphragms aren't leaking. Also had bad primer bulb so replaced it and all fuel lines. It's tough to tell if we're loosing ignition with timing light when it dies because it doesn't spit sputter or nothing it shuts down immediately like you turn the key off. Will give tech support a call and see what they say. Thanks
  5. Yeah bad stator would probably make more sense guess we will keep messing with it and see if we can figure something out. If we get something figured out I will post back and let you know what happens. Thanks for all the input.
  6. Ok thanks. So am I thinking right or am I as crazy as this thing is making me feel that if all the other components are well within specs then it is pointing to the fact that we got a bad pack?
  7. Think may have chased it down to the pack. Went back through everything this morning and here are the peak voltages readings I got. Orange to orange and black hooked to the pack 8 volts running and rectifier hooked up spikes to 12 volts when it dies and right at 12v with rectifier unhooked and doesn't die and 60v unhooked from the pack. Brown to brown and yellow 350v unhooked from the pack, then motor running and rectifier hooked up it jumps around between 230v-250v till it dies and motor running rectifier unhooked it is 275v and doesn't die. Checked timer base again just to be thorough white wire to purple blue and green each one of them were 2v unhooked from the pack and 10v hooked to the pack only thing I wasn't sure about was the specs. you posted says .6v or more hooked to and unhooked from the pack. The CDI specs I have say same thing unless it is 1988 and newer then it says it should be 100v-400v when hooked to the pack. What leads me to think it's the pack is I checked peak voltage on the orange wires from the pack to the coils and instead of 150v+ I have 4v and timer and stator all seem to be within specs for voltage and ohms. Didn't post ohms readings because didn't write it down but the were all in specs.
  8. I was planning on running the DVA tests again this morning and see what I got. I'm like you the ones I've helped friends with I've gone more by DVA rather than ohms but will definitely check both this morning. I am going to run back through the whole system and see what happens. When we had the flywheel off the magnets all looked good. Thanks
  9. Sorry should have put this in first post it will fire right back up for a few seconds. Hitting the choke makes no difference and have had connectors apart seems like 100 times and they are all fully seated. Not sure if the little throttle is what made it run a little longer or not you never know if it will run 2 seconds or 30 seconds.
  10. I have load tested the battery cables to the motor the load test is within 1volt of what the battery load tests at. Have voltage coming out of the stator on the yellow wires and have checked wiring with a wiring schematic. I was a diesel/gas mechanic for 17 years and help a lot of my friends with their boats but this thing is making me second guess my ability. Lol
  11. I double checked the stator this morning got oem number from boats.net. the model number is E60TLESM and the CDI number is 173-4766.
  12. Hooked meter to the battery got voltage down to 12.51 volts started the motor it got the voltage up to 12.70 volts before it died which was about 20 seconds got it to run a little longer with some throttle but still only 12.7 with no crazy voltage going on before it died. unhooked black and yellow kill wire and still died also checked for voltage on kill wire and there was none after working the switch several times and checking every time I worked it. Also another friend had another new rectifier put it on and no change. Unhooked the 2 yellow stator wires and it will run forever. Got me pulling my hair out and ain't got a lot to loose.
  13. Helping a friend with his pontoon hasn't ran in 2 years. To start with only had fire on #1 cyl. every once in a while the other two would fire. So started running the DVA voltage outputs and found low output on stator intermittent output on timer base and no continuity on one cylinder through the power pack and diodes bad in rectifier. So replaced all those parts with CDI replacements and went ahead and replaced coils because the potting in them was cracked and falling apart. Got it back together and set the timing and it's running on all 3 cyls. and runs good for about 5-30 seconds then dies like you turn the key off. If you unhook the 2 yellow wires to the rectifier it will run forever checked the rectifier and all diodes check good. Anyone have any ideas I've just about ran out of ideas. Also cleaned all positive and ground wires and even tried a different battery. Appreciate any help I can get.
  14. According to the the graph I'm looking at we passed the old record at 8:30 this morning.
  15. Maybe everyone should stay away sounds like all the fish are going to die. I will let you know the fishing gets better.😁
  16. That's kind of the reports I have been hearing.
  17. Was out Monday afternoon there are a lot of big floaters on the lake. The water was surprisingly clear from Wheatland ramp towards the dam had probably 2-3 ft. of visibility.
  18. Glad you had a good trip despite the weather. Hopefully can get by to see you in July. The week you were here was not a good week for visiting between the monsoon things I needed to get done and babysitting the grandson didn't get far from the house.
  19. Will run by your camping spot and see what's going on. Hopefully going to try and get out after some Crappie next week.
  20. Glad to see your going to make it back over this way Alaskageek. I have been mostly fishin for bass which by the way has been tough for me this year. May have to to start trying some Crappie my boy and a friend caught 10 keepers from the bank in the back of a cove in a about 2 fow so it should start getting fun. Also been finding some mushrooms. Good luck and hope to see you while you're here.
  21. We fished the USA bassin tournament the 23rd and out of 30 boats there were no 5 fish limits. Over half the boats had 0 or 1 fish and only took 11 lbs to win. Going to try and get out some this week and hope it picks up.
  22. https://joebassteamtrail.com/pomme-lake-standings/ Here's the results for the Joe Bass tournament Saturday. There was also a Reeves Bros. Tournament but haven't found results for it.
  23. Definitely was brutal. Expect better fishin this time of year but with muddy water and the water falling 5" or so each day didn't really not surprised it's tough. Hopefully can find some that want to bite this week. Been a long winter and ready to catch some bass.
  24. Went out this afternoon fished about 3 hours never got bit. Water temp around the dam area was 45-48. Water had about 2 ft visibility around the dam but up the Pomme arm around Lightfoot it is about 8". UAW had a tournament Sunday and the guy that won had one 15.5" fish and what I heard that was the only fish weighed in. Not a great report but best I got.
  25. The only crappie tournaments I know of on Pomme are the Crappie slayers tournaments and I don't see any listings on the Regatta permits for them. Shockley32 I believe runs them. Maybe Brad will see this and chime in. I haven't seen a post from Brad for quite awhile hopefully everything is ok with him. You could try sending a message to Shockley32 and see if you can get ahold of him.
