I havent been fishing in a couple of weeks and am getting a little stir crazy. Anyone feel like going to the dam this evening?
I will probably be out there around 9 or so.
Phil,
I think he meant lures for spin fishing.
I cannot remember the last time I used spinning gear for trout. But rapalas, jigs always worked well for me.
The forum pages are quick for me. I have high speed cable connect at home and DSL here at work. However...the pictures take FOREVER to come up. I just assumed it was because I always have a bunch of junk running in the background.
I will be starting a new poistion in Feb as the Controller for the new Dick Clark American Bandstand theater and the company I currently work for (One Dollar Shops Inc) is a retail chain with around 45 stores in 6 states. Our offices are located on 76 strip right next to the Remington Theater, we are also known as Carolina Mills. If anyone in the Branson area is looking for (or knows someone that is looking) full time year round employment and has payroll or accounting experience, please get in touch with me or fax a resume to my office attention Mike Yate (Controller) at 417 334 8884
Or you may email me directly at john.moran@centurytel.net
And yes, this is going to KILL my time on the water over the next several months. So when I am able to hit the water, I will hitting it hard and savoring every second.
I figured it was the Animas since you said you fished the San Juan as well. Beautiful river.
Where did you hook in the 6lb er on the San Juan? Did you wade or drift?
Nice fishing. I used to fish the Frying Pan in the dead of winter all the time. Great fishing there year round. But if your gonna guide in gold medal waters, why not share where the fish were caught??
Thanks Phil!!! Thats a huge post right there.
Squirrelpie- here is the link to Cabelas. I did not tie that "fly" I bought it at Anglers and Archers here in Branson. Matter of fact I bought ALL of them that they had at the time.
Cabelas-Strung out on San Juan worm
What does anyone think of trying to reproduce the senko worm as a fly? think its possible?
I have a buddy that used the 4inch black, rigged wacky style and just destroyed smallmouth with it on a creek near here.
I have a buddy of mine down in texas trying to come up with something. he ties a great chenille worm.
My dad and I used to fillet em up(sort of) If they were small enough we just left the bones in. Once they are in the deep fryer, the bones sort of disappear. We usually breaded them in the spicy seasoning you get at BPS(uncle something or another) serve it up with some cold cole slaw and sweet tea and you got yourself a parteeee
Not sure yet. But I got the bug now! The previous trips I made really didnt impress me much, but Thursday night changed my mind about night fishing!
That thing I had to do Friday morning...I scored BIG TIME. I'll let you know all about it. But it will have a severe impact on my number of days on the water
I think I ended up around 10 fish or so. It was a nice night for fishing!
I didnt get a chance this morning to upload those pictures and I know for sure I wont get a chance today. So tomorrow for sure I will post them. I dont know how to post that little video, otherwise I would put that up there too.
We'll have to get out again, and SOON. I think I found something to keep me busy at night besides that whole sleeping thing.
not to mention the safety issue. they (BPS) are going to allow test drives of boats in an already crowded area, there will be docks to tie off so folks can go walk around the landing, eat, etc. the upside is, we may actually see a MO Water Patrol officer actually on the water more then once or twice a year.
My ideal conditions are as follows
sunny, cloudy, snowing, raining, windy, calm, warm or cold.
I think that about covers it.
serious though, a slight overcast is usually better for trout fishing.
