  1. I believe I will try some fishing today at Jolly Mill. Anyone been lately?
  2. Now its catch and release season, Hickory Creek has been stocked with LOTS of fish. Wonder how long they will last?
  3. I have hunted squirrel with a 32 cal muzzle loader and that might what they were doing and said they didn't see any squirrel's. I do hunt deer with a 50 cal and handguns so am aware of the seasons. Less than two weeks until firearm season.
  4. My point was they were hunting out of season.
  5. Yes you can use one in rifle season but not in bow season. Rifle season starts Sat after next.
  6. Missouri Muzzleloading deer season isn't until Dec.
  7. I believe hickory creek was stocked last week, I saw several trout but not any numbers.
  8. First I went to Roaring River and had a blast catching and releasing fish, stopped at Jolly Mill on the way home and did the same. Got home and went to Hickory Creek and did the same. Fish were really on today.
  9. My 8 year old grandson caught a three and half one at the Kid's Day. I can't walk well so I set in a canvas chair and fish. I catch lots of trout but not a big old gooden. I was there Tuesday and was told about a really large fish in the first hole that wouldn't bite anything they presented to him on Monday Since school started I fish Roaring River twice a week and love it.
  10. Impressive for sure. Wish I could just catch one.
  11. Dumb fish he didn't know he was done for with two hooks in him, Hope you kept him to improve the gene pool. He was a eager beaver (trout) for sure,
  12. At least I tried
  13. I stopped and fished a little last week in Hickory Creek by the low water bridge. After 10 minutes or so I caught one small trout. The hook was deep so I cut the line and turned him loose. Another 10 minutes or so I caught another small trout and it was the same one. I cut the line again and released him. I saw no other trout, so if you catch a small trout with two very small hooks in him it was me who turned him loose. I wonder if they will stock the creek before winter?
  14. A friend caught a 8 lb brown below jolly mill in the spring. I saw the picture of it and it was nice
  15. probably just my day
  16. Caught and released a bunch of trout today at Jolly Mills
  17. I went this morning and caught a lot of fish. I used eggs in zone 1 with 14 hooks and 2 lb line. They started dredging in pool number one and it was muddy water for sure. I guess they are getting ready for kids day on Sat.
  18. I was in Jolly Mill last Friday and didn't do any good, a couple small rainbows
  19. I would love to be able to fish the Rock when the water is rising. I would go to the back of any creek, as far back as I could get the boat and fish the incoming water. My personal best limits of bass came in rising water. I fished jig and frog those times.
  20. Went this morning and caught quite a few fish. It was so nice, not many people and cool. I set in my canvas chair and fished with Powerbait eggs on No 14 egg hooks with 2 lb line. Lots of fun.
  21. I haven't been to RR in a while and am going in the morning. I will post my luck after trip
  22. I was fishing from the top of the dam. It was a nice evening with the cooler temps.
