  1. Mr Ducky, Regardless of how the fishing went, this place looks beautiful. Please bear with me as I am not from that area. Where is this place? I would be interested in checking this place out fishing or not. Thanks, Doug Kiefer
  2. I received my two hats in the mail today. They look great. Thanks Phil and Lisa. Doug Kiefer
  3. I am a "reader" and don't have much to say, but I love reading the forum and gleaning as much knowledge and info as possible. Living in Kansas City it would take years to pickup the tips and knowledge that I pickup everyday in this forum. Having said that I also can't wait to hear next what Terry's killer yorkies are doing or hear about the siren frightening the heck out of MrDucky even though I have never met them personally. Doug
  4. Sounds great to me, I would be in for two. Doug Kiefer
  5. Any recomendations on waders for a rookie? Fishing Taney, maybe some parks. and a lot on the White and Norfork around Mountain Home. Don't have a lot of money but don't want to buy junk. There is an Orvis shop here in Independence but they can be high. Any input would be greatly appreacited. Thanks, Doug Kiefer
  6. Have any of you tried the rent a rv program at bullshoals-white river state park below bullshoals dam? If so I would be interested in hearing your comments. Thanks, Doug
  7. Phil, It looks great!! Can't wait to get down there. Doug
  8. Phil, Wish I was at the resort right now. We already have four inches on the ground With six to fifteen predicted her in Independence. A little southeast Harrisonville down into Warrensburg and the Truman lake area is supposed to get fifteen to twentyfive inches. No that is not a misprint. Doug
  9. Being a rookie flyfisherman from Independence, Mo. does anyone have any ideas on clubs or organizations that I should attempt to join in an endeavor to further my education, locally, regionally, nationally. I want to fish mostly Taney and my father lives in Mtn. Home,Ark. so I would like to fish the White and Norfork as well.
  10. Thanks, Mark and Terry. I will take your advice to heart. That is exactly the kind of help I am looking for. Thanks, Doug
  11. Hi, My name is Doug Kiefer. I live in Independence, Mo. I have been a bass fisherman all my life, but since my father has retired in Mtn. Home Ark. I have become fascinated with fly fishing. Going 70 mph in a bass boat no longer excites me at age 49(even though I own a Panterra 2). I have been to Lilleys several times this year and just loved it. As a matter of fact I just purchased my first fly rod about a week ago. Don't worry I will not be bothering you guys that know what you are doing for a while, I intend to learn the art of casting on local ponds and lakes fishing for bluegill. In the meantime I will not have much to say on this forum, But believe me I will read everything I hear from you guys in an effort to learn. I will be returning to Lilley's often as I now consider it a home away from home. My plan, ponds, then trout parks, Taneycomo with a fly rod, then ultimately I would like to be qualified to fish the White below Bull shoals dam and below Norfork Dam. I also would like to attend some fly fishing schools(any ideas-Orvis at gastons-Dave Whitlock at Midway,Ark. etc. Thank you and may God bless you all. Doug Kiefer
