I got "big bass", a largemouth a little over 17inches.

That's my 4.44 in the 9am hour. Anything over 3.5lbs is worth bringing in, just be sure to check your text messages and see what kind of weight got brought in at the first half of the hour.

Evenings into the night, but you just have to be there when they're there. I haven't tried tracking the giants.

cool, thanks for the offer. I'm actually going to try and get one in my kayak this year. I fish the powersite most of the time when they're running water. Hopefully I don't miss the window being so busy this month with my wedding and other Tournaments and the rain coming in this weekend.

Artificials... the small ones will bites your typical bass stuff like jerkbaits, crankbaits, small swimbaits on jigheads (kietechs). The giant ones are usually taken on bigger 6 and 8 inch swimbaits and huge saltwater style jerkbaits usually in a gizzard shad or rainbow trout colors. If you can net some gizzard shad and keep them alive, it's worth a try. And it's illegal to use trout as live bait ( I pretty sure that's correct, would have to double check the book)

Haha Huntest, I'll be in a white Skeeter with "KGB Swimbaits" on the side of it. My fishing partner and I have a plan to Run and Gun, so hopefully you can keep up. -

Time to reap my revenge after losing a 7lbs plus largemouth during last year's event... I'll be there, for both days this time. -
Too slow? Are you burnin the Redfin? At that point you might as well get a sebile or a wake crank. I slow roll mine with a few pops of the rod tip occasionally, it looks like a struggling baitfish scattering on the surface when i do that, and can usually produce a strike from a follower.

They have been catching them since last fall. This spring guides have found the little guys running with the whites and mixed in with Largemouth bass also.

With warmer temps this year, they may show up earlier than last year. I'm going to try and top the 50lbs 4oz beast i caught last year, and try and find the bigger one that snapped me off.

If your launching out of Indian Point, be sure to stop by Ozarks extreme outdoors, a good friend of mine owns that Kayak shop, and has plenty of tackle.
