I know a lot of guys don't like Iaconelli on here but I rode with him during the BASS on table rock and he is a really nice guy and talked to me the whole time. He answerd all my questions and gave me lots of tips. I know he can be crazy and do off the all stuff but ever since that day I respect him a lot more. He also took time to sign lots of autographs and pictures for the youngsters. Not everything you see on camera is how Mike really is.
I respect your opinion but I have never had any trouble with the treble hooks and trout. Never had one deep hooked. Almost Everytime it is in the corner of there mouth. I'm sure it could happen. If you had a fly rod and a single hook with some of the Browns I ha e Caugjt you would have never got them in. I use at least 10 lb line and a 7ft rod with a baitcaster below baptist.
Treble hooks are fine on trout if you know what you are doing. I have caught several Browns well over 5lbs down there on 3 trebled jerkbaits and they were just fine. Get a good net and keep them in the water. They will be fine. I don't keep them. Go down and keep some rainbows below cedar grove if you want the better tasting.
I love the old I think 2004ish pro qualifier rods. Have 2 of them and they are awesome. I would prefer to spend a $100 or less just because I won't be doing it that much.
I don't really have a big flipping or pitching stick. I don't want a really expensive one since I won't use it that much but would like to have one. What are your recommendations? Thanks
If you tie a Alberto knot you shouldn't have any problems. It looks really hard to tie at first but after a few times you get the hang of it. I have ever had a problem with break offs. You don't even hardly have to set the hook either since there is no strech.
QB I just try to get around fish and get lucky with a big one every now and then. I've tried to catch them in the stained water but just can't get bit. If the water if an off color green there is no problem. I like fishing dirtier water as well.
