Fished from 9:00 to 4:00 today, water temp was 40/41, wind out of the SE @ 15. Didn't have a fish in the boat, let alone a bite until 1:00. Partner & I ended up catching about a dozen, 5 keepers that would have gone 13#'s. Also had two of those toothy fish, one was 36" and the other was 25"...they hammered the jerkbait. Caught most of the bass on jerbaits in 3 to 10 feet of water on a windy, timbered point. The biggest keeper came on a swimbait and caught a couple on the 4" finess worm on the shakey-head.

I have not been over to Old State Park recently but I can tell you that State Park is just fine, was just up there on Sunday. If the ramp is dry you should have no issues at all.

I was told that I should go fish the Saddle at Stockton, in all my years of going up there I have never heard of the "Saddle". Can someone tell me where it's located.......if it's not a big secret. I'm headed back up tomorrow and thought I would check out that area if I'm on that part of the lake. Thanks in advance, Todd

I just sent you a message, didn't see the one you just sent.

Great job Skeeter, happy to hear you figured them out! Were you up by the State Park area in a red & white Skeeter?

On the water about 8:30 out of State Park. Two of us fishing; one guy & one keeper, the other guy one keeper and maybe 3 shorts. Fished a hard 8 hours on main lake points and small cuts with jerkbaits and finess worms. BIG case of lock-jaw. Anybody else figure them out today? Tight Lines, Todd

Practicing water conservation at home & work is a great way to help with the water issues we all face. One day in the future water will be more valuable than gold, we can't survive without it......!! If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down!

Let's do it Jose', would have loved you joining me on Wednesday! It's was a great day on the water! The next nice day after the 1st of Feb. I'm headed back up! If you can join me maybe I'll actually pull out the crappie rod!

What a great day on the water! Put in @ State Park about 9:00 and fished the entrance of Maze Creek and directly across the main lake from Maze Creek. As usual I caught most of the bass on the finess worm on the shakey head and also on a white jerk bait. The difference today was that I caught almost all keepers, 9 out of the 12 bass caught today were really fat, healthy 15 to 17 inch bass. Saw a ton of bald eagles today on a mostly glassy day on the lake, what breeze did blow came out of the north. Water temp was 39 to 40 and I pulled out of the lake at 5:00. Did I mention it was a great day on the water? Tight Lines, Todd

Fished Saturday out of State Park Marina and stayed within 2 miles of the ramp. Got on the lake about 10:30 and fished until 3:30, water temp was 45 and the wind was 15 out of the south. Caught about 10 blacks with one keeper all on a white jerk bait. Found the fish on a main lake point at Maze Creek and also in the back of a main lake cut in 10' of water on a chunk rock bank. I also caught one smallie on the finess worm on the rip-rap point at the maina. Fished Sunday out of Mutton Creek on a BEAUTIFUL day, 9 to 3, light breeze, lake temp 44 to start and 47 by 3:00. Couldn't hardly buy a bite unitl the afternoon then the bite picked and my partner and I ended up with about 20 blacks, most all of them 12 to 14 inches. We might of had 3 keepers but didn't measure, we did catch one keeper walleye on the jerk bait. We caught about half our fish on jigs and finess worms and the other half on the white jerk bait. Found a nice group of fish up on a main lake bluff @ Powerline Cove and then a nice group of fish in Mutton Creek about half way back on a chunk rock bank. Merry Christmas all, hope Santa brings you all new fishing equipment!

Got on the water today about 9:00 and fished until 3:00. Went out or Roark Bluff and ran up Sons Creek, went about 500 yards on up into the timber and fished the east bank. Found all my bass on main lake points in about 8' foot water. Ended up catching about a dozen with 2 -15" keepers. All but a couple of bass came on the shakey head with the 4" worm, the other few came on a white jerk-bait. I was fishing down one of the bluff banks and noticed a dead deer washed up against the bank, pulled the boat onto the bank, got out, and drug a nice 8 pt whitetail out of the water. Needless to say the deer is not good but it's a pretty nice rack. If anybody shot a deer up in Sons Creek and it got away leave me a message on here and I'll let you know where the deer is. It was 45 degrees when I arrived this morning and 46 when I left, a cold, misty day with the wind out of the east 10 to 15. Tight Lines

What a great day to be on the water, cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. A bit breezy but that didn't stop the bass bite! Went out of Mutton Creek and tried crappie fishing on some brush piles first thing but only caught one dink. Decided to fish a main lake channel swing point and ended up catching over a dozen bass on the shakey head with the 4" worm. A few of the bass might have gone 15" but they were scrappy fighters. Funny thing about today, when the bass picked up the worm (8 to 15 feet deep) you didn't feel them hit the worm but they held onto the worm and wouldn't let go.......thus it was easy to set the hook! Also went into the back of Googer Creek and found some bass hitting crank baits and spinner baits in 2 to 5 feet of water. Water temp was 53 to 55 degrees. Overall I think I ended up catching 18 to 20 bass and one keeper Walleye. Fishing should only get better as this weeks weather gets warmer!

Put in at Roark Bluff about 7:00 this morning and fished for 10 hours, it was GREAT to be back on the H2o! First stop this morning was in the cove right across the main lake from the ramp. I had always wanted to look at this cove and ended up catching a number of bass clear in the back of the cove on the last channel-swing bank. After that went into Power Line cove, went clear to the back but didn't have any luck there. I did end up catching a few on the way back out of Power Line Cove in 15' of water. Worked my way up Son's about half way to the bridge and caught a bunch of bass on bluff banks and out in the timber, I think I ended up catching 25 or 30 with 7 that would have kept......nothing over 16". Caught most of the bass on white spinnerbaits and fire tiger jigs. You know it's been a good day when your thumb is raw from lipping those bass!

Anybody do any good today?

Stated at 5:00 in the morning and fished until 1:00. 3 small bass and 2 bluegill. If I was fishing the tourney this weekend I would get out the c-rig! Go deep or stay home. Todd

Started out at Mutton Creek and fished within a couple of miles of the ramp. 2 short crappie, 4 short bass, 1 fat bluegill. TOUGH DAY, pulled out at 1:30. Have not had this slow of a day all year. Lots of boats on the lake running around. Fishbait, won't be able to make BPS on Friday evening, keep me posted.

Fished out of Mutton Creek today and had a BEAUTIFUL day! What great weather; cool, cloudy most of the day, and light wind. But the biggest bonus was the fish were biting, all of them. Ended up with 3 walleye, one white bass, 15 large mouth, and a dozen beautiful crappie. Cleaned the white bass, 6 of the crappie, and one of the walleyes. seems where ever we stopped we caught fish. We ended the day on a brush pile by Mutton Creek in 22' of water and there were a number of 12 to 14 inch crappie right on top of the brush. We also got within 30 feet of an immature bald eagle and had a spotted fawn almost swim right up to the boat before heading back to shore. All in all one of the nicest days on the water, hope you got out today!!

Walcrabass, I spend a bunch of time up Sons but there is no way I would head up there after dark, way too many hazards to hit and tear up a boat. If you get a day off in the middle of the week let me know and maybe we can head up there together?? Todd

Put in at Roark Bluff about 8:00am and fished till 4:00, spent the whole day in Sons Creek. Nothing real exciting to report. Caught a number of small bass on the flats that were chasing shad on a small chart/blue crankbait and a small Kastmaster. Also caught a number of small bass on the bluff banks on jigs and senkos. Moved to the back of Greaser and caught my only keepers flipping timber on the channel swing banks, also caught one keeper walleye on the small crankbait. Didn't have much wind up in the river and only saw one other boat out. Headed up again on Friday!
