I personally think that it's okay to spank our kids for the right reasons, like when they have done something which can further harm them. I always made sure I explained to them why they are being spanked and hug them afterwards. I guess it goes different with each child, whether spanking has brought about negative effects to their behavior or not. The thing there is not how spanking can be an effective way of disciplining your child but about being consistent with how you set our your rules and implement them.
We have our own way to parent our child but we should always remember that anything insufficient and in excess is never healthy. It's easy for our children to be at risk of anything that we as parents might contribute in, so it is best to be responsible and think before we act.
