    Whites

Nice mess...looks like a great time! Congrats!
  2. Not much good to report. 0-whites, 0-crappie, 0-walleye. Not a very good way to start the year, but the boat ran and got to see a bald eagle eating something in a field...it can only get better!
  3. I can't stand it any more...gotta get the boat on the water for the first time this year! Thinking about heading to Aldrich & High-Point Saturday. Anyone been having any luck? How about water temperature? Hopefully the rain combined with a few warm days will get things moving...right in time for a cool-down Monday. Such is spring fishing in MO.
  4. I'm with you and I bet everyone is getting stir crazy too. Anyone testing the crappie waters yet? I haven't heard much except out of Bridgeport on TR...they have been catching them there all winter. Hopefully the weather will warm up a bit and we can all get back to what we love. Happy fishing everyone!
  5. Thanks for the great info! It really helps us inexperienced learn. It is much appreciated.
  6. Put in mid morning at Mutton Creek with a good buddy who loves chasing whites in October. Perfect day- overcast and a moderate south wind. Motored to Chicken Rock cove and found nothing. Went toward CC a little and found some whites in a small wind blown cove in about 2 feet of water. Went up toward Sons Creek and picked up several more. About here I noticed that my trolling motor battery is giving up the ghost, which always makes for interesting fishing on wind blown banks. Decided to drift fish toward Mutton and fished most of the shallow flats by the twin bridges and caught a few more. Most of the fish we caught were good size with some smalls mixed in. We also caught several blacks that were just shy of keeper. The fishing was hit and miss but when we found them they were stacked up. We finished the day with 24 in the livewell and probably threw back as many. The water temp was around 62deg and still colored with 1' visibility. We had best luck using 1/6 oz white with red head rooster tails. It was a great day to get out and skip work!
  7. Sounds like an exciting day all around. Glad you caught some fish before the fire. Hope everything turns out ok with the boat.
  8. Thanks for the great info and effort to get it. I learned a lot.
  9. You can drive down to the point. Good luck and let us know how you do.

  18. Put in at Cedar Ridge early and went toward High Point. Caught three keepers around Turkey Creek and that was all. Caught a few shorts between High Point, Masters, Maze Creek and Cedar Ridge. I forgot the one thing I needed- minnows! Read another post that the crappie were biting good at Aldrich...I knew I should have gone a little further up LOL! Did manage to catch a few short bass on senkos...they seemed a little more eager to bite. I'm hearing that everyone is encountering moss...what's up with this stuff? I've never seen it this bad. It was a beautiful day even if the fish weren't cooperating, and it sure beats being at work! Good fishing to everyone!
  19. Thanks for the info. What's with the moss...I've never seen it this bad all over the lake!
