  1. Your twisting my arm!!!! I'll be there!! Catman can you scratch out a morning??
  2. I took the family camping this weekend. The cold was wonderful the kids and wife had a great time riding bikes and hiking and just being kids. The river was in great shape the camping was great also. I fished Sat and Sunday morning. A little cold but tolerable. Caught a ton of fish and met a lot of great people. Good to see Catman. Green woolie and San Juan worm worked great. Not a lot of people down in the fly area at the whistle but more fair weather fishermen showed up as it warmed up. GREAT WEEKEND!!!!! Can't wait for catch and release season!!
  3. GREAT bunch of pictures!!!! Nice fish!!! The only thing that bothers me is the graber or pliers that the one fish is being held with. Big trout aren't made to be picked up like that. Sorry but true!
  4. Leonard, Thanks!! Yes on the fishing. I'll make it a point to look around next time I'm down if your van is there. Take your wife for a boat ride! You also might have a fish in there that doesn't want to come out of the water??? Good luck!!!
  5. Leonard, What is the PMS?? Lot's of talking about it but I've never seen one. Thanks!!
  6. Your right on the catching. We were down Friday morning and it was a blast! Caught about 40 fish before noon. The San Juan was hot!! Going to Roaring River this coming weekend with the family.
  7. I didn't get to start fishing till around 1:00 but the river looked great and there were lots of fish. I fished down in the fly area. They seemed a little sluggest at first. Picking a few up here and there. There were lots of fish midgeing and staying close to the surface. I was using a San Jaun worm. Around 2:00 they woke up. I caught about 10 in a row at one stretch. Lot's of stocker size fish but there are a few nice ones in there. Fished about 2 hours and caught about 25. Season ends the 31st! I can't wait for C&R season. I'm working with my girls with the fly rod and need a little room.
  8. Wow!! A woman that fishes, night fishing, catching big fish, a baby boy!!! Priceless!!!
  9. Well said Phil! Fishing Forum!! If you have a problem with someone leave the rest of us out of it. Take it up with them in private.
  10. Wife's birthday tomorrow. Great fishing report. Fish biting!! Fishing fever through the roof!! Guess who's going to stay home the rest of the week!! Me!! Thanks for the report!! Ahhhh
  11. Saw you van last night Leonard. I got to the dam at 11:00 and the water was still up. I couldn't sit around so I went down to outlet 2 to just wet a line. I cast a two color bunny and had a fish on. I played him a little and he came up mad. Nice 21 inch brown. Beautiful fish. Not a mark on it. They shut everything off at 12 and I fished around till 2:00. Caught about 20 on bunnies. Lot's of fat boys caught.
  12. I have to agree. They did a wonderful job once again!! I didn't think they could top the last one but every year they do!! The kids hooked a lot of fish and the Park hooked a lot of kids!! Two thumbs up again!!! Thank you very much!!!
  13. One cleared the door the other night at my house and then my wife cleared the ears of anyone with in a mile of our house. We had to do CPR on the cat. You ever seen a cat pass out!! It took our kids 3 days to calm down enough to sleep all night. It killed fish in our pond in front of our house. I'm still deaf and half blind from the scream!!!
  14. Mine can't catch fish that week either but she sure can scare them out on the bank on the other side!!! Michael, We'll be praying for you!! Keep positive it's the greatest med!!!

  16. Michael, Do you weight your streamers or do you weight them anytime of the year?
  17. Took my three girls fishing. I wanted them to experience the opening whistle and everything. 5:00am came early but they were ready to get going. I ask my bro to go with us so it was just the five of us. We got some donuts from Buds and headed down. We got our tags and went down to the fly area. There wasn't very many down there. The upper part looked to have a bunch of people so the fly area was the best bet. Got them to the river and after answering a bunch of questions and explaining waiting for the whistle we were set. My girls are 5,7 and 9 years old. There are a bunch of things that we have to work on. They have casting down very well but setting the hook needs a lot of work. They did very well. I would get a fish on my fly rod and they would work it in. I had 2lb test on and they didn't break any off. My oldest is very interested in fly fishing. I'm going to start working on it with her first. She wanted on her own accord to watch the way I was fishing and how the fish were biting. They did spend a little time exploring the river and the "lobsters" as my youngest called them were very interesting. I plan on taking them down this weekend also. Overall grades. Fishing A, Catching C, Spending time with my girls. A++++.
  18. I'll be down tonight if anyone see's the gray Chevy with RDP in the back window say "Hey" I'll be by myself if I can't get my buddy to come down.
  19. A few years ago I caught a nice 20" trout under the Shell Knob bridge. I think he was more suprised than I was.
  20. Noluck, I'll buy you a beer if we ever meet!! WAY TO GO!!! Stepping up isn't very hard if it's for the right thing is it. It's that type of people that kills the good times and ruins it for the rest of us.
  21. Got down early Saturday morning but didn't have my license so I had to wait till 6:00 at the Dam Store. Got to talk to the guys a little while. Great bunch! I enjoyed getting to talk to them. Great help! That's the place to go!! They told me Table Rock was backed up and the tailwaters were high but fishable. I've never been down so I was the duck that wakes up in a new world! The fog was pea soup. I started below the handycap area. I could hear someone down below me catching fish but the soup wouldn't let me spy on them. I walked down a ways and started seeing a lot if fish. They weren't intersted in my skud from Taney but the guy said use a midge and I caught a few before the armada started coming down river. There must have been fifty boats!! I watched the trout and they looked like the great cattle round up. They were in schools and hitting the trail!! I had a great time anyway. I'll come back during the week. Thanks to everyone for the help!! I'll be back when the waters lower. I still want to try to find a stripper!!
  22. I got to fish Saturday afternoon for a couple hours and the fish were going crazy over the SanJuan worm. Caught 25 in two hours in the fly area. Lot's of fish. Caught one real nice one, solid fish. Is I watched the worm the bigger fish were more intersted than the smaller ones. Not Normal!! Had fun!!
  23. Tightlines, That's a great tag!!! $1.00 wow!! We don't realize how lucky we are with what we have now. With the way prices go up on everything we have a sweet deal going. As for saving gas I can't do that it makes me hurt too bad!!! Let her rip!!! You'll live longer!!
  24. Terry, You've got a lot of time on your hands don't you!!
  25. Steve, Before you take off. You said cruising Stripers?? Are there still a lot of stripers hanging around down there? Are they catchable on big rainbow flys?? I caught a 13lb striper a few years ago fly fishing and loved it. I would love to lay into another one. Thanks!! Hey look me up if you need any custom fly rods. Mark
