It seemed that way at Roaring River last week! Not many fish!

Ok lets back up a little and look at what they are trying to do with this patch program. How many trout fisherman have fished all the State Parks in Missouri? I haven't. I've never fished at Meramac and have never caught a lunker at Bennett or Montak. I think it would be really great to be able to spent time hitting all the parks enought to catch a good fish at each. What do we all go fishing for mostly? To try and catch a big fish. Bass fishermen fish for the one that will break the record. It's the thrill of that next hook set might have a huge fish on. Some people like to eat fish also. Nothing wrong with that. I find it exciting to go to Taney and Roaring River and see a nice fish laying there waiting for me to try and out smart it. I've tried for several years to go to all the State Parks in one year and save the tags. I think it would be thrilling to do that let alone catch a nice fish at each park. It doesn't take much to make me happy I guess. Remember the simple things in life are some of the best things. Love to fish and love to live.

I've got three girls and I hooked on a washer at home and let them pratice before we went. It helped a bunch. I also tied on rooster tails for them to keep them busy while I fished and hooked fish for them to reel in. I don't know if it was legal but we turned everything loose. We had a blast!!!! At the time they were 5, 7, 9.

Laker, Everyone knows your hand is up for big fish!!!! Mine too!! My biggest rainbow is maybe a 1/20th of that thing!

One thing I remember when I was bass fishing several times a week at night I could have killed those dumb birds and it would have been justified from destruction of my property. I messed up lots of underwear from those dumb birds squawking and flying off the bank!!!! I hate those dumb birds!!!!!!! One other thing you need to look at is the costs that they cause with the cages and everything else that we have to pay for to keep them from eating everything at the hatcheries!!!!

Ham, Please remember that all the trout fishing in this state is made possible by sportsmen like laker67 and Lilley and bigredbirdfan and troutchaser and myself by paying for fishing license and being there to help when there is a problem. Herons eating trout = problem!

I made it down around 11:30 and the kids were everywhere!! The fish acted like they were shell shocked!!! You move and all the fish in the pool flinched! Every time I cast toward a big fish they ran like a scared rabbit!! Lot's of small fish everywhere. Had some success but not like usual. Still great to be fishing!! Roaring River has to be one of the best valleys and streams in Missouri!!!

I am sure freedom of religion exists on State Land. Maybe we can send some preachers or pastors down there to counsel these unfortunate souls. Bigredbirdfan, I love your idea!!!

I usually don't say anything that is neg but to say "it's natural, not immoral" Is Unbelievable!!! I believe in the word of "GOD" not the word of man!!!! It's like those people that smoked pot with their son and watched porn with him. "It's Natural????? I DON'T THINK SO!! Listen to GOD not man!!!!!!!

Is it legal for them to keep short fish in the slot area in a boat???

Tim and I were talking Friday and he said watch this. He pulled out that huge double bunnie. The fish in the pool were very dosel until that thing hit the water. They were all over it! They got tired of it quick but it was a site to see!! Thanks Tim for sharing! I would have had a hard time beleaving it if I hadn't seen it my self!

Your right on the tower! That thing really sticks out like a sore thumb! It was nice to not have any service there!!

All I can say is YEA!!! My favorite time of year is findly here! The weather was great the temp was good until noon. My first fish after the horn was a beautiful 5lb bow. What a way to start! I saw a very nice fish in the pool and the gentleman standing next to me threw a huge meps spinner at him and wam!! Very nice 8lb fish!! I met a lot of very nice people. I saw a lot of very figity people there also!! NO PORT-A-POTS till noon!!!! I think I hurt myself!!! I know a little to much info!! I walked around a lot and saw a lot of nice fish up above. Went down below and didn't see too many. Saw Tim looking for the big fish. When the rain started about 11 the river was empty! Everyone left at once. I stayed and then a few people came back with their rain suits. Wonderful day even with the rain!!!

I use WF4F line with 2lb Vanish. Tim's is a great stop for tackel and info anytime!!!

I had to make a trip to see Tim on Friday and decited to run down to the river for a little while. Tim said they turned loose 30 lunkers Thursday evening. I didn't get a chance to look around and hunt for them but I did get to fish a half hour before heading to work. I started around the lodge and noticed the river level to be great. The rains this year have been good for the parks but not for Taney. I caught C&R 6 and had to head out. The weather was wonderful!!!! Durn work!! The river was a little stained but sight fishable! Durn work!! I heard they were turning loose a bunch of browns for C&R?? That would be great!!

I saw a while back that the MDC was buying more land. All this money they have to spend needs to be spent to protect what we have already, like more agents!!! Everyone knows they don't pay these guys enough to do what they are doing. MORE AGENTS!!! Call your State Reps or Senators and give them something to do worth while. If you need their numbers let me know!!!
