Yesterday was a great day for crappie around the one mile bridge. Today I tried Mutton Creek area, the one mile bridge areas and the state marina. Not so much as a bite. Oh well, sometimes it's that way. Still love getting out on the water.
Went out about 7:30 this morning and started by trplling for walleye for awhile. Said the heck with this and went to a favorite spot and caught 13 total. 1 was 15 " one was 14" and the rest were either 12. I did catch one that was 10" and the other one I didn't keep was about 8". All in about 2 hours. I was around the one mile long bridge. Good day.
I agree that the crappie are being caught deep at 15 to 20 feet and any females I have caught are full of eggs. The water is definately warm enough for the shallow water spawn to taking place now. Maybe they do lay their eggs in the deeper water.
